History [ edit ]

Originally built around a core of Counter-Strike: Source players, Copenhagen Wolves were seen as an up and coming Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, around the same ranks as their sister team, Western Wolves, but both were miles behind what was Fnatic moving over from Counter-Strike 1.6. Throughout the team’s existence, the team has made a lot of roster changes, but only been under a single organization Copenhagen Wolves. They later left the organization and went on to represent Team Dignitas

2013 [ edit ]

Starting out with a lineup built around Henrik “FeTiSh” Christensen’s old Counter-Strike: Source team, CKRAS, the team lacked experience and playtime in the new game. The roster originally included legendary Danish Source player, Bo “wantz” Vestergaard, but Vestergaard never found the game to his liking and shortly after retired.

The team’s first real tournament was Copenhagen Games 2013, but the team was eliminated early on, after they lost to fellow countrymen Western Wolves. Shortly after, the team made a serious amount of changes, bringing in former Fnatic players Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth and the sniperstar Michael “Friis” Jørgensen after their old team disbanded.

Towards the summer of 2013, the team had qualified for DreamHack Summer 2013 earning a top eight placement along with fellow Danes, Western Wolves.

The team later participated at DreamHack Bucharest 2013, falling short early on, probably because of the fact that in-game leader Henrik “FeTiSh” Christensen was unable to attend. Søren “socN” Falk helped the team out, with the in-game leaders despise. Shortly after, Nicolai “device” Reedtz was replaced by Jacob ‘Pimp’ Winneche.

After the lineup changes, the team finally got some success, winning local Danish LAN-event, NetParty Fyn#14, beating AWESOME (later n! faculty) and EYES ON U in the process. From this point of time on, the team locked itself down as a serious contender to the throne in Denmark.

After a top 4 placement at EMS One Season I Fall 2013 and a top 8 finish at ESWC 2013, the team was ready for the biggest event of the year – DreamHack Winter 2013. However, just after ESWC, the team once again proved unstable, removing Jacob “Pimp” Winneche and Michael “Friis” Jørgensen and returning to Nicolai “device” Reedtz and former Western Wolves-star Nicolaj “Nico” Jensen.

Once again, the team managed to get a place top eight, qualifying for ESL Major Series One: Katowice 2014, however, shortly after the tournament, the team agreed on stopping the cooperation with the Copenhagen Wolves, and continued under the name über G33KZ before being acquired by Team Dignitas.
