What are the “safe” 9th heroes picks for mid?

I currently have:

1. Lina
2. TA
3. SF
4. Kunkka
5. Lesh
6. Ember
7. Storm
8. Meepo
9. Razor

I think they can do well vs pretty much any matchup (Ember doesn’t, but he can rotate well to comeback).

if u pick mid on 9th you are garbage
u will lose mid anyway
pick it on 5th and let your off and safe have better matchups.
u can play mind games too with picking heroes like lesh , razor enemy probably assume you picked offlane lesh, razor
cause they are garbage too.

^I think if I pick Visage, and enemy picks Brood then it’s pretty much gg if we have no good hero to lane against her, so it doesn’t work this way. Maybe in your bracket team coordination could handle it, but not in 4k.

Dota 2 mid heroes 2014 dodge For sure when I have in hero pool a lot of cheese heroes like Brood, Meepo, Visage I will give my pick to carry+offlane. 9th pick Meepo/Brood is still very strong. I can only see picking mid earlier when I spam SF, Lina, Lesh every game, but no with my hero pool.

I often pick mid last to prevent my hero getting countered by enemy team, but I never know about this.
What is the reason for this? Why I should pick it at 5th turn.

if we assume enemy as skilled as u, i think either u last pick mid and carry the game, or ur sidelanes winning the game for u.
if u are more skilled than enemy, u can even first pick your hero and win the game like smurfs, so this discussion is pointless from start.

^It’s not hard to win vs 1 counter, but it’s way harder to do it vs 3 counters. I don’t know what you don’t understand. I 9th pick Meepo – enemy either picks Lina/MK/SF/Shaker/OD mid (most of the time). All I need to do is not feed the lane, and in team fights jump them with hex or jump as last one. Game is ez. If I pick it as 5th – I will get shaker/pango + strong mid + probably one more good hero. For Brood if I see they lack disables, I can pick it as 9th pick (even vs LCs, Kunkkas etc.). I will just afk jungle, then kill them, or skill her passive (vs LC). I would also not risk picking before my carry, even when we both picks, I won’t pick before him. I had many games when I picked Meepo/Brood, and my carry followed with AM/Alch or other hero that heavily depends on jungle/farming. I don’t trust my allies.

it depends on your hero pool for sure, u cant pick storm , meepo , brood on 5th! after 3 enemy cores countering you u cant expect carrying game with these heroes (plz dont make obvious retarded arguements!) , but if u pick sth like OD, Lina , DP, . either u forced them pick mid on 6th-7th and 2 other cores can counter it , or your both cores have knowledge of enemy picks, and they are not!
and u can do your midlaner job pretty well 🙂
