Dota 2 For Mac OSX
It was stated that Dota 2 will be made for Mac OSX, but when will this be done? Will it be the end of the development cycle? I’m currently able to run Dota 2 in a virtual machine but it crashes every so often. (Yes, you can game in a virtual machine haha, and I get surprisingly high FPS in dota2.)
i dont think this Will Happend until we are out of beta and expect some months after the official release.
use bootcamp and install a clean windows on it

If you play on a mac Dota2 is probably way too mainstream for you. Try Smite or Awesomenauts, should be suitably hipster for you.
On a serious note, typically if you want to play video games then don’t buy a Mac.
Development time shouldn’t be spent on catering to such a small margin of players imo.

Valve has already committed to making Source games work on Mac and Linux. There’s no point in bitching at them.
and similarly, there’s no point bitching at valve to address the fact that they haven’t shifted resources to accomodate that small margin of players, ESPECIALLY since i guarantee most players that are waiting for the OSX release are just playing dota 2 via bootcamp anyway.
i don’t know a single person with a macbook that doesn’t have bootcamp. what is the excuse for that? “i just don’t like windows”?

Why so much hate against a mac? I didn’t buy a mac to be “trendy” or hipster. I wanted the best notebook and a macbook pro happened to be it. It has better build quality then almost any windows machine, great battery life, and display far better then any laptop i’ve seen. Matter of preference I guess.
Second, I’m not bitching at valve for a mac version. I was simply asking a general timeframe. Man you guys are the ones mad, mad I have a mac apparently.
And from what I see so far Dota 2 isn’t a graphic intense game, it shouldn’t have any issues running on a Mac.

you bought your macbook pro for the price of a high end notebook, or in other words, a price of a gaming pc + a netbook
anyway, i already said it once before, try Boot Camp!
