Here’s how the market goes right now:

Shit Rares(1.xx-2.xx Refined Metal – Rares that aren’t in high demand/for shit heroes)

Shit Mythicals(Almost a key-Same with shit rares)

Rares (The ones in high demand/for not shit heroes One or two net you a key easy.)

Mythicals = Normal Treasure Keys

Genuine Items (Items that you get for buying real life shit/tournament passes. Keep in mind that these items aren’t shit like tf2’s genuines and are worth a nice penny [excluding the ones you get from tournament passes] )

Immortal Items (The ” super vintage” of the dota 2 market. Items that come out in Immortal Status do not come out again)

Unusual Items (So far: only couriers with a range of effects)

Tournament Items (Items that drop from a tournament viewing. Can be ANY droppable item. Think of them as the equivalent of Numbered tf2 items. Hard as shit to get)

Ancient Items(Holy shit I don’t even know what this shit is son but apparently there are some items like this out there)

BTW everytime I say keys in this guide I refer to DOTA Treasure keys. The rate for tf2 to dota is about 2:1 at the time of this posting.

How our currency works:

Since we don’t have a metal to work with.. the base item for the dota economy is Keys. Like tf2 keys you can get them for slightly lower than what valve charges($1.7 at the time of posting)
Well how do we big ticket trade for the good shit?(unusuals and immortals) We fucking use a million keys for our $1500 dollar items. We use Timebreakers.

What the fuck is a timebreaker?

The timebreaker is the accepted bud of the dota 2 trading community. It was a common item for Faceless made by some chucklefuck in the community. But then some other chucklefuck found out that the Timebreakers model is ripped off of some other shit game called Aion.
Thus Gaben banned the fuck who made the pirated item and made the Vintage Timebreaker from all timebreakers in the community. First they started at 5 keys but have risen to around 25 keys at the time of this posting. ok I’m going to stop saying that.

Is there a bills or another lower currency item?

Not officially. There are these immortal golden greevils that people are trying to get to rise from the price of 6. But there’s no real demand for them(look like shit, everyone is fine with keys instead)
There’s also Pudge’s Dragonclaw hook. But thats around 19 to 20 keys.

What are the unusuals and what are their effects/prices?

To rank the unusual effects you must first rank the couriers.

Low(Price)

Stumpy = Morok(1)
Boar = Badger(1)

Ethereal Flames (SUPA BURNING EFFECT XDDDDD)
Frostivus Frost (Your courier is shitting snow)
Diretide (Spiders and shit)
Lotus (Pink flowers)
Felicity’s Blessing (Grass and flowers and shit)
Burning Animus (LESS SUPA BURNING EFFECT XDDDD)
Affliction of Vermin (Bats and black shit)
Sunfire (Level up light on your courier)
Resonant Energy (Your courier has energy feet)
Searing Essence (XDDDD THE WORST BURNING EFFECT)
Luminous Gaze = Piercing Beams ( Glowing eyes)

I’m not going to fucking try and price the effects but know hat Ethereal is the best and Gaze is the worst.

Ok, so what are the big ticket items for each category?

Rares: There is the Sven Commander Set. The set’s pieces are 20-26 keys because they are drop only and goy everywhere want the pieces.

Mythicals: Any mythical is pretty much a key. But the aformentioned Dragonclaw Hook is the pinnacle of Myth items right now.

Genuine items: The low(5 bucks to 10) are the Genuine Couriers that come from ingame Tournament Passes. The high(50-80 bucks) are items that you get from buying real life shit such at Faceless Void’s Battlefury(from the dota2 headset) and Juggernaut’s Kantusa Blade(From the dota 2 mouse)
There is also a mid(20-30) with the shirts you buy from the valve store like Drows’ Bow of Howling Wind and Tide’s Recluse Reef Denzien.

Immortals: The aformentioned Timebreaker(25). Golden Greevils(6-7), Lockjaw(70 keys), Drodo(100 keys), Smeevil(120-150 keys), Alpine Ursa Set(175 keys), Defense War Dogs(300 keys) Golden Baby Roshan(1500 USD)

Tournament: Any item from a tourney is pretty cool. But one’s for popular heroes and otherwise rare items are great.

Ancient: The only known Ancient item is the War Dog Defense Courier
