Bottom line is, keeping track of enemies mana is part of what makes one player skilful in the game and the other palyer not so skillful. So the feature is not needed, especially not in the pro scene.

There isn’t any real reason to not make the information more accessible, is there? I mean, nobody’s complained about LoL doing it.

The difference is that in LoL the mana bar is just a resource, while in Dota 2 it’s something you can actually turn against your opponent.

Infinite crysis – visible mana bars
Heroes of Newerth – visible mana bars (dota clone pretty much, with antimage. doesnt make him op)
Heroes of the Storm – visible mana bars
Strife – visible mana bars
Smite – visible mana bars
League of Legends – visible mana bars
Chaos heroes online – visible mana bars (game closed? not sure)
every freakin moba out there – visible mana bars
Dota2 – hurr hurr durr

I don’t think you can see how much mana someone has left even by clicking on them, otherwise it would be too easy. Not knowing how much mana someone has, brings in a lot of strategic play. This way you will actually have to keep track of what spells they used and judging by their playstyle infer how much mana they have. It brings in a lot of stratergy, you can try to bluff into making your opponent think you have no mana, and when they attack combo and kill them with your mana. Dota 2 show mana bars dota
