Kunkka’s Tidebringer cleaves in a 500/600 AOE while Battlefury cleaves in 280 AOE. Does this mean that from a distance of 0 to a distance of 280 in front of Kunkka he’ll have the Battlefury cleave damage added while from 281 distance to 500/600 he won’t have the Battlefury cleave damage?

Sorry if this question is confusing – I’m just wondering if Battlefury damage enhances all of Kunkka’s Tidebringer’s 500-600 AOE damage, or just a small circular area within the Tidebringer’s circular area directly in front of Kunkka, so that only creeps within a 280 AOE in front of Kunkka will take extra BF damage while creeps farther away only get Tidebringer damage. You can find out things like that easily by yourself. Just create a local lobby with cheats and spawn some bots to test stuff out:

As you can see, woody36 is right. First you hit your target, then the BF cleave is applied to all targets within 280 range and then the Tidebringer cleave is applied to all targets within 600 range.

The only way to really play Kunkka is by having 4 Battle Fury, one Daedalus and well, boots. Always pick him when you have Magnus on your team and demand him to buff you all the time. There you go. Anyway, on a serious note, Kunkka is such a weird hero imo. His spells are mostly skillshots for nuking, but then you have his Tidebringer. It doesn’t synergy with anything of his kit.

I am not sure of the exact reason, but BF is reliable cleave (tidebringer has cd after all), damage and regen combined in one item and it increases your farmrate. Most creeps you hit will always be very close to your hero, so the permanent extra cleave is nice.

Personally, it depends on role.

Afterwards, it’s a tossup between an initiation item like blink or SB/SE, or going straight for the crit-fishing Daedalus.

Afterwards, s you either build brawler (for serious gameplay) with str items, counter actives etc.
