| We were round baling with the 2-105 and when we hit the brakes to stop and wrap the bale, the PTO kicks off. We have had to hold the PTO lever when ever we use the brakes to stop the tractor. Any thoughts as to why this is happening and what we should trouble shoot to fix this? Thanks. |

| If I remember correctly, the PTO on those is designed to shut off if it looses hydraulic pressure (so it isn’t accidentally on when you start the tractor). I wonder if your hydraulic pressure is weak or something is messed up in the brakes that is making a sudden and substantial drop in hydraulic pressure. |

| You need to check the pressure at the pto valve on the back of the tractor. Fab up a gage to go inline it should be 240 PSI. Mine was doing this exact thing yours is. I ended up shimming the valve to get the pressure up. |

| My 1975 2-105 has been that way since new , February 1975, dealer was never able to fix it, but I survived, hay mower, spray pump, white corn planter, tied in gear , any thing PTO operated except JD 510 baler. Still use it today. |

| Thanks for the feedback. We found we had a leaking line which caused low fluid level. Repaired line, shimmed the valve also( the spring seemed weak),filled up with fluid and fired up tractor. Ran PTO while turning the steering wheel rapidly with the brakes on. No issues, PTO kept running while steering and brakes were used. Hopefully, this is the last of our hydraulic problems with this tractor. Valves on both outlets have been rebuilt, new seals on PTO and pump installed and now this. |

Got the 105 running this morning after sitting all winter. Started working up ground. Ran good all day. All of a sudden-no steering. Hydraulic outlets worked OK. I could raise and lower the disc as normal. Brakes were good and PTO started and stopped as it should. Hydraulic reservoir was full but the fluid burped out the opening when I checked it after unhooking and shutting tractor down. Fluid seemed hot too. Any ideas as to what to check? Also, noticed a clicking sound coming from the pump instead of its usual whine. Would the pump getting weak and making the fluid hot cause the steering motor to act up? Any ideas would be appreciated. I have had a lot of issues with the hydraulics on this tractor – replaced all seals on PTO and pump and rebuilt the outlet valves too. Finally stopped losing fluid and had full pressure for the slave cylinders. Thought my problems were over, now this! Thanks. |

| Have you ever went through the pressure control valve on the left side of the tractor just below the pump ? It contains a high pressure relief valve, a pressure reducing valve for the PTO and brakes , a priority valve to give hyd. flow to the steering and an unloader valve. There are O-rings in there that can be bad allowing oil to bypass creating heat, your priority valve could be stuck . The pump clicking does not sound good for the pump. If the pump is bad going through the pressure control valve is a must since that is the first place metal from the pump ends up. Does the steering wheel turn freely or is it very hard to turn ? |

| Steering is hard. We are ining up some gauges and going to start checking out the pressure. Three point hitch lift arms are dead too. Thanks for the advice. |

| 2 stroke, That is the same symptoms my neighbors 2-105 has. He had the AGCO mechanic yesterday to trouble shoot since the rebuilt pump and rebuilt PTO didn’t fix it. My neighbor bought the 2-105 fairly cheap but its adding up fast now. The mechanic told him exactly what you said and hopefully it will be working soon.

Pump is trash. Now ordering new replacement (heavier design that came out on the Red Stripe series Whites) with a conversion kit. Now concerned about metal in the rest of the system, especially the Char – Lynn steering motor. Got my fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice. |
