he falls off mid to late game I would suggest getting a ethreal blade and dagon lvl 5 for later game also a hood of defiance would be a choice but you would need a ton of farm

So me and some guys i know have been running into some issue lately , it’s basically : ” I’ve done pretty good job with pudge but we lost ” , so Pudge’s job is only to make room for other carries to farm , Then how can I carry with pudge / What are the circumstances when I’ll need to carry with pudge ?

he falls off mid to late game I would suggest getting a ethreal blade and dagon lvl 5 for later game also a hood of defiance would be a choice but you would need a ton of farm

This is the stupidest choice you could ever ever do. If the opposite team has a little of brains (which 99.99% time apparently does not at least in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 3.XX tier yes where i am) they will get BKB, so your 12 700 gold wasted in EB + Dagon is ♥♥♥♥ing useless.

the best you can do if you wanna carry with whatever hero you want but is not tagged as “carry” per se, is aiming for the disables / crowd control.

I would say Scythe of Vyse, Hearth, Aghs, Blink, bkb or linken´s are more than enough to disable whichever hero for 6.5 seconds (3.5 of the hex + 3 of dismember)

which at least are

-715 magical damage of root
-525 magical damage of dismember + 1x times your strenght (lets say +150 damage)
– 1 or 2 hits during the hex duration (

300 physical damage)
-Ethereal blade damage 75 +2x times your strenght (lets say 75 + 300) magical damage and amplifies all the magica damage if you do it properly

So lets sum the magical damage
715 + 525 + 150 + 375 = 1765 magical damage – 25% of base resistance = 1323

Then amplifies the damage due the etheral blade which is +40% magical damage
1323 *1.4 = 1852 magical damage + the physical damage you did of your theoritecally 2 right clicks which lets say 300 damage minus the resitance, lets say he is farmed and has around 60% damage resitance that give us a grand total of:

300 * 0.4 =120
120 + 1852 = 1975 Effecive Damage.

Which is alot in 6.5 seconds the hero cannot attack you at all cause is hex – disabled. And the opposite team cannot do much if you have bkb, blink.

The dagon build is ♥♥♥♥ing useless

Pudge simple isnt a Carry.

A ganker, yes, one of the best, but nothing more than that.

Pudge can be used to take out enemy supports late game so that their carries are left with no help. A carry Pudge is not possible.

90% of you are wrong, I faced a 6 slotted PL as pudge and literally solo won the game with Gameplay decisions and item decisions I made, pudge can outcarry, check the highlights, I was originally offlane but 70k ending damage to my carries 60k

90% of you are wrong,

Then how can I carry with pudge / What are the circumstances when I’ll need to carry with pudge ?

A carry is a hero whose performance scales extremely well with equipment because of their abilities and talents.

Look at Spectre.
Spectral dagger: both a theoretically support and carry Spectre can use this as an escape tool. Only the carry Spectre can use it as a tool to hunt down enemies, because if you are a support, you don’t want to run alone after enemy carries.

Desolate: allows carry Spectre with a fast attack speed to destroy lone opponents of any size by ignoring their armor and resistances. A support Spectre won’t have that attack speed, and will get destroyed by better equipped enemy carries or better skilled enemy supports because of their nukes and stuns. And if you are not alone, your damage and this skill won’t really matter compared to that of your carries.

Dispersion: awesome skill. A well equipped carry Spectre can kill or seriously damage an entire enemy team that tries to bring her down with this skill alone. Not only that, but it makes her so much tougher too. A support? Doesn’t really do anything. A percentage based increase of basically nothing amounts to still basically nothing.

Haunt: allows Spectre to farm and join combat at any moment. More importantly, if the enemy team kills Spectre in a late game team fight, she buys back and instantly teleports back into the fray. Not only that, but the illusions, with radiance and diffusal blade, deal serious damage. And it works as an escape.
Now: farming is good for both support and carry Spectre, but the latter one farms much faster, making this more efficient.
Buyback in combat is awesome for carry Spectre as she is a huge threat. Support Spectre can then throw another cotton ball at the enemy team after dying randomly in some area attack.
Illusions: they deal no damage and die instantly if you have no items.
Escape: if you die after one hit, it won’t do much good. And if you escape, eh.

That’s why Spectre is a good carry. She scales extremely well with items, she sucks horrible without them-

Now, Pudge.
Hook: support / ganker Pudge can hook as well with or without items. Sure, more items improves mobility of Pudge, but that’s about it. The skill is awesome without items and only improves slightly with items.
Rot: Again, the damage and the slow work very well without items, but are only barely improvable with items.
Flesh Heap: it’s nice, because it gives ganker / support Pudge survivability without needing lots of fancy items. With lots of fancy items, it’s a nice but not necessary bonus.
Dismember: another stun which is nice but no carry ability, a heal with is also nice but also no carry ability.

That is why Pudge is no carry. He has no carry abilities, he works well without lots of items and he doesn’t scale that well with items. Spectre farms, gets rich, gets lots of items, scales with them and destroys late game entire teams. Pudge doesn’t farm, but roams, ganks, initiates, creates space, slows down the enemy team.

Dota 2 Items Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

DotA 2 is one of the most popular games in the world today. DotA 2 features competitive gameplay and a challenging learning curve, which is why it’s played in high-stakes tournaments around the world.

Although the DotA 2 Items Mod is still a work in progress, this mod aims to bring a number of DotA 2 items to your Minecraft world. Instead of simply copying item textures over from DotA, each item has been individually re-textured to reflect Minecraft’s unique 16-bit style.

The end result is DotA 2 items that look like they belong in the Minecraft world. The DotA 2 Items mod includes new:

All of which are based off of features from DotA 2. One interesting feature with this mod is the fact that DotA 2 items are not dropped on death. Instead, players instantly receive all of the DotA 2 items they were carrying as soon as they respawn after death. This is useful when you just spent several thousand coins on a Blink Dagger or new staff.

Just like in DotA 2, passive effects will accumulate from all 9 items currently in your inventory hot bar. This is a great way to buff your player prior to a fight or protect them when simply exploring the world.

Players also receive gold coins for killing enemy mobs and other players. The higher the player’s level, the more coins that will drop upon death.

Where do players get all of these DotA 2 items? The best source is the new DotA 2 Shopkeeper NPC which spawns in every village. This NPC buys and sells DotA 2 items in exchange for gold coins.

DotA 2 items are slightly slower than items in vanilla Minecraft. Specifically, each blow takes 1.3 seconds to land with 0 agility. So far, all of the following items have been added to the game through the DotA 2 Items mod:

-Blink Dagger: Teleports players to target points up to 30 meters away. The Blink Dagger also negates all fall damage. It’s a great way to quickly climb up cliffs and other obstacles.

-Tango: The Tango consumes a tree when used. As the tree is consumed, the player’s health increases. Each Tango comes with three charges and the healing effects last for 16 seconds. This is also a convenient way to clear out a jungle or forest in a short period of time.

-Quelling Blade: This Blade destroys any targeted tree and gives bonus attack damage against all mobs.

-Eul’s Scepter of Divinity: Eul’s Scepter of Divinity sweeps targets into a cyclone for 2.5 seconds. During their time in the cyclone, that unit is invulnerable, but they also cannot move, attack, or use items. Eul’s Scepter of Divinity is easily the most expensive DotA 2 item in this mod, as it costs 2800 coins (the Blink Dagger is the second most expensive item at 2100 coins).

Whether you’re a fan of DotA 2 or you just think the new item abilities in this mod are cool, the DotA 2 Items Mod aims to improve Minecraft by adding some seriously cool new items and abilities.

How to install the Dota 2 Items Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

Step 1) Download and install Minecraft Forge

Step 2) Download the latest version of the Dota 2 Items mod from here

Keyboard fails to work in game

Hello this thread is going to be used as the main place to report keyboard bugs such as the keyboard completely failing to work till you restart the game other keyboard related bugs are indicated below, if you have experienced this before please post here with as much details regarding what was happening around the time it occurred I will also be adding known ways of fixing the issue.

Known issues list

  • Keyboard completely fails, does not work while in game however works in steam overlay and in chat lobby
  • Keyboard character “H” stops working
  • Keyboard character “I” Stops working

How to fix

  • complete keyboard failure – Restart the game then reconnect
  • Character “H” and “I” failures – restart the game and reconnect or alt tab (known to be caused by typing during the picking phase when it swaps between the pick window and the normal game)

Last edited by DBX_5; 11-02-2011 at 10:41 PM .

That “h” thing is really weird, but it doesn’t stop you from using “hold position” when playing. I have experienced it a few times and I have no idea why it happens.

My keyboard just wasnt working at all. Had to restart the game client and it worked again.

Just happened to me too. Only thing I noticed was that caps lock was on, other than that I have no idea what could have possibly caused that.
Requires Dota 2 restart.

Try doubletapping F1 when you lose keyboard support. That’s what I do and it comes back every time.

I have the same problem (keyboard doesn’t respond at all, not only ‘h’) many times I play.

How exactly it occurs I don’t know but I think it has something to do with tabbing (I use borderless window though), because I only had that problem when I tabbed.

This has happened to me too near the start of a match. Sadly I have no steps to reproduce it

I’ve experienced this a few times today while playing, that my keyboard suddenly stops working _totally_ once I get into a new game. The only fix I have found for it is to restart the game and reconnect, leaving and reconnecting doesn’t do it.

Happens to me frequently lately aswell. Manually bringing up the chat ingame still allows me to chat, chatting outside a game in the chat lobby is possible aswell. Just using the keyboard ingame for playing purposes doesn’t work. Cannot reproduce. Requires me to restart the game to get it working again.

I think I found a link between being tabbed out when loading into a new game that may cause this happen, its happened to me 3 times where I was alt tabbed out of the game (both full screen and windowless) talking on steam or typing on another program then once I went back into the game I had no control over the keyboard in game.

Dota 2: TI 9 Battle Pass Tournament Predictions

ESTNN’s Veselin Ignatov has our predictions for the Dota 2 Battle Pass predictions minigame.

With less than four days until TI 9, fans should be buckling down for a great pinnacle event. Interestingly, anyone with a Battle Pass can make some pretty fun predictions for the tournament. It’s definitely not a new feature, but its a classic in the Dota 2 community.

In fact, there are a ton of different predictions that fans can make, ranging from most picked heroes to which players will perform the best. Today, though, we’re going to focus on tournament predictions. These are by far the easiest of the predictions to get right, simply because we can use data and statistics to make the predictions much easies. Additionally, it’s very important to get them right; players can end up winning tons of Battle Pass points relatively easy.

TI 9 Battle Pass Predictions

Total number of games played in the main event

This is by far the easiest prediction to get right, especially since the TI tournament format is the same as years before. Having said that, last year, the correct answer was from 45 to 49. It’s always possible to see a change due to the high skill cap of the TI 9 teams, but we still believe that 45 to 49 will be the best answer.

Total number of heroes picked

Nearly every single top tournament his year has had its own “meta. Dota 2 tournaments wikispaces ” Of course, this means there a huge number of different heroes picked in professional games. However, we believe that the recent changes were not that drastically in terms of nerfs and buffs, which means that the meta is still very diverse and there are many viable heroes.

Of course, there could be a few strange compositions that affect the answer here. Despite that, we believe that the correct answer here will still be 101+.

Total number of heroes banned

This is a very tricky prediction as varies greatly depending on the current meta. Dota 2 tournaments wikispaces In general, hero bans in Dota is also related to the picking popularity. This means that if there are many heroes who are worth picking, there will also be a lot of bans. Having said that, we personally think that the right answer here is 81 to 90.

It is possible for this number to rise a bit, but we doubt it.

The most combined total kills in a game

This one is very random because there’s no way to predict how the games will play out.. Having said that, the number of kills in a game is normally related to how long the games go. Since there are some teams at TI 9 which tend to play longer games, we might want to pick something higher than we normally would if there were faster teams in attendance. We picked 101 to 109 because we believe that there’s a possibility that there will be a very long game, After all, there are a lot of (slow) Chinese teams at TI 9.

The longest game of the tournament

As we mentioned, this prediction is directly related to “Most Combined Total Kills in a Game.” If you chose a high amount of kills, you should also choose a long game time here. On the other hand, you could hedge your bets and pick a slower game time, increasing your chances of getting at least one correct. Our pick is 70 to 79:59 because the current meta allows games to go that long.

The shortest game of the tournament

This one is probably one of the easiest one to guess – from 15 to 19:59 is our pick. Historically speaking, there has always been at least one pure stomp in every TI so far. What’s more, there is more gold on the map right now, which can also allow for a faster snowball.

The most kills by a hero in a game

The best answer here is 26+, even though many people will not agree. When you think about the quality of the players that will be playing at TI 9, it is very possible to see some spectacular results. What’s more, heroes such as Outworld Devourer and Storm are very popular right now. And as we know, they are one of the easiest heroes to score kills with, and a serious snowball isn’t out of the question.

The most deaths by a hero in a game

Feeding isn’t really an issue when it comes down to professional teams, but there have been many cases where a position five player of a team gets stomped and finishes with an abysmal score. That’s why we went with 15 to 17.

The most assists by a hero in a game

Again, related to the previous answers, the logical prediction here is 36+. In addition to that, 36+ has been the correct answer for this category ever since Valve introduced the predictions into the Battle Pass. What’s more, TNC is also here, and they always finish with a high assist count.

The highest GPM by a hero in a game

This is definitely the easiest pick out of them all – 1000+. Teams will most likely pick their fair share of Alchemists, and at least some of them are going to have good games. As we know, given the proper start, this hero is capable of breaking records in terms of GPM. What’s more, the range creep’s bounty is now through the roof.

TI8 Mineski – Old Friends, New Challenges

Old Friends, New Challenges

Focus Mode
Turn off Focus Mode [x]

It would be unwise to ignore the history of the Mineski organization when talking about this squad. As with many origin stories of Dota players and teams, Mineski began as an internet café (better said cyber café) that was founded back in 2008 by Ronalds Robins, a Warcraft Dota All-Stars player. After 10 years of constant success on the business side, Mineski now has 10 times their starting seat count and 130 other cafés in Philippines, overseas branches and one of the finest Dota 2 rosters currently on the Pro Circuit.

But it wasn’t always like this; despite being invited to the first ever International, the organization has found little success at the top of the Dota 2 scene. After TI1, it took 4 years for to Mineski to get back to a Major tournament – the Frankfurt Major held in 2015. After a surprising victory in the following Manila Major Qualifiers, the team got an unsurprising last place. A change was needed yet again and this time Mineski decided to give a call to an old friend, ninjaboogie; who re-joined the team in July 2016 after a lackluster period on Rave. It didn’t end up well for that stack and another big reshuffle in March 2017 took place: Meracle, RR and Julz left the organization while and the legendary Mushi, accompanied by KyXy and Ryoyr, joined the team. The task was larger this time: get back into the International.

And Mineski got back – to the drawing board – as they failed to achieve said goal by being eliminated in the qualifiers. Ninjaboogie and Mushi (who missed his first TI since TI1) were left alone with the endeavor of rebuilding Mineski, once again. This time, two familiar faces were there to lend a hand: after also missing his first TI, iceiceice rejoined Mushi in a squad; and the legendary coach 71 agreed to finally coach a Mushi roster. Add Jabz and Moon and we get one of the strongest SEA-only stacks in a long time just in time for the debut of the DPC format.

Mineski had quite the breakout in the DPC: in the first ever DPC LAN they grabbed a second place finish, losing to the recently-crowned TI7 champions. Despite the fact that their good performance was to be expected due to the pedigree this lineup has, a more unexpected first place at the Bucharest Open positioned them just behind Liquid; the Dota community couldn’t quite believe it. As the competition rose with more stacked LANs Mineski quickly fell behind Newbee, Virtus. pro and even Universe (Fnatic). Mineski were feeling somewhat lost in the middle of the season, but DAC 2018 came at the right time for the team; it was the tournament to bounce back into shape or to just fall apart. Mineski defeated LGD in the finals once again and the comeback was real, Mineski had just become the undisputed best SEA team, and a powerhouse to be reckoned in the DPC. It ended up being the victory that secured them the TI direct invite due to the dominance of Virtus. pro and Liquid, adding the rise of LGD combined with the fall of Newbee. iceiceice and Mushi are finally back at the International after once absence that felt like an eternity… it just wasn’t the same without them.

Gameplay

Different teams and orgs have different approaches to the game, but with the exception of Wings, all the TI winning stacks had at least one veteran in their lineups. The recent TI champions have successfully mixed new talent with the experience a veteran brings to these kinds of competitions, and for this TI, Mineski has that kind of squad.

Experience has served this team well and it is not only thanks to Mushi and iceiceice, but 71; the brilliant coach. While some squads like a very strict approach to the matches, hence emotionally investing themselves in the results, Mineski favors a more nonchalant approach to their game. Experienced players prefer to play their big matches this way, since the lack of pressure allows confidence to flow easily and enables the players to play naturally. This kind of attitude of Mineski may be credited to 71, who has mentioned that he believes that utilizing his players to their fullest potential is key for his job. Not only that, but just when Mineski began to fall apart and neither Jabz nor Mushi wanted the drafting responsibility, 71 was there to take care of it. iceiceice and Mushi, in particular, know about this ‘pressure’ thing better than everyone else in this squad, as they not only played at defining matches in TI, but also played together in the memorable DK TI4 squad, which back then had an enormous pressure to win the tournament as perhaps the very first All-Star roster.

Without pressure, this squad has absolutely no fear of pulling out a pos.1 Wraith King, swapping Mushi and Jabz’s roles for a Meepo pick, or switching the ever-flexible iceiceice Pangolier for a sturdier Tidehunter pick. Teamfighting, saving cores and disrupting enemies are the indispensable components of a classic Mineski draft, which are directly related to its backbone: iceiceice, Jabz and ninjaboogie.

Mushi and Moon will usually rotate their choices inside a more restricted hero pool, as long as there are no cheesy strategies planned, while ninjaboogie and Jabz have a more diverse set of effective heroes. As a position 5 support, ninjaboogie is in charge of providing his position 1 carry with a stable lane and getting the early team items. Classic position 5 stuff. But even if ninjaboogie would rather protect his safelaner, static lanes usually mean death for Mineski, and that’s where Jabz comes in. If things are going well for either Mushi or Moon – whoever is playing the safelane – ninjaboogie will join Jabz in ganks around all the 3 lanes. Jabz has multiple tasks in this team; he is the Io player, the Meepo player, the one that pressures the enemy safelane alongside iceiceice and the overall stun/disabler with Nyx and Naga. Dota 2 rave vs newbee highlights magazine Not only that, but his Nature’s Prophet (6-1 in pro matches since April) will likely be a pain to deal with for the enemy supports as he joins in ganking the enemy safelaner. Jabz clearly prefers movement, but as we stated, with today’s dual-lane meta it is not strange to find him in the offlane for the first minutes of the laning phase.

If the support play is half of the backbone of this team, then iceiceice is the other half. Constantly switching from different heroes, the current gameplay of iceiceice is way sturdier than what some might expect: he will usually grab Tidehunter or Underlord, two picks that don’t provide the traditional mobility and chaos that iceiceice’s Timbersaw, for instance, used to offer. Pangolier is there to bring back the usual gameplay he is known for. iceiceice is the kind of player that needs to be able to make plays, and Pangolier allows him to easily reach the enemy backlines and cause chaos on the supports and force cores BKBs. The hero was simply meant to be played by him.

Skipping Tutorial

Why can I not skip the tutorial? Seriously, absolutely no way to skip it? Hate to break this to ya but this ain’t my first moba. How to skip dota 2 tutorial july 2013 I also have the best tutorial I could possibly get in my roommate who has played dota for god knows how long. I have played LoL for a year or better, I know things are a little different from LoL but hate to break it to ya mechanics are VERY similar. I’m not saying don’t have a tutorial but have the option to skip it. I really doubt someone who has never played a video game before is going to start with Dota but stranger things have happened. Those people will need a tutorial, yes, but give the option for people like me to skip it. Ok well I’m going back to the game to learn fundamentals and. nah probably just let it auto play and go walk my dog. See if I can fail the tut by being afk.

I just went back thru the menu and all the settings to see if I could find a skip tutorial button just in case it is in the game and I missed it. Couldn’t find it. If its there and I totally retarded (yea I know I am already) just let me know where that MFer is so when my other friends start they can skip it.

GG LOTS OF LOVE. GLHF!!

Then a little button will appear on the bottom right, click it.

according to the game menu the “\” key is my console. I have pushed the crap out of it in many menus and nothing. whats suppose to open. I typed it in the tutorial chat and some npc laughed at me. rude right? stupid npc’s judging me. is it like skyrim and New Vegas? little icon appears in lower left corner for typing or what. Quick to google! but any help would be appreciated.

You need to have – console typed in launch options.

WOW can they put all this in the tutorial. Also let people know that to get to the console commands you have to select Dota 2 in steam right click go to properties, under the general tab click set launch options then type “-console”. Then when the game starts you will have a big gray where you can type dota_full_ui 1. But for the love of all that is holy it should not be that difficult to skip a tutorial. If nothing else make it to where you can skip parts of the tutorial. Little button somewhere not completely hidden that says Skip this part of the tutorial. I know game development is difficult but how hard would that be. This game has been beta tested since July 2013? Under development since 2009 and no one thought to put a skip tutorial button? wow just wow.

stop smurfing. play the tutorial once and you are done

smurfing huh? Downloaded the game for the first time yesterday. Smurfing huh? I only play arams in LoL. Smurfing huh? In one year of LoL I have played the “standard” game type3 times. Smurfing huh? Well Noo thanks for being helpful. What you added to this post actually helped me. I do sincerely thank you. Sabotaz, if you have nothing constructive to add to peoples post, just don’t.

Smurf boys its the only anarchist thing we can do in this game.

You should play the tutorial, enjoy the story.

Okey, i ll be more helpful. This game is not age of mythology, age of empires or some other game that you play by yourself against the computer. If you dont understand the basic mechanics of this game like how to last hit, how to push down towers, how to purchase from the shop you will just end up ruining lots of games. Having a roomate that plays dota is really cool, same as that you have played a different moba game before but you still have to practise on minor stuff. Needless to say that if there was actually an easy way to skip the tutorial (pretty much like in the games i mentioned above with just an Esc hit), nobody would ever bother to play the tutorial no matter how new he was in that genre of games. W/e, i guess you have your answer hf
