Eredar

This article is about the eredar lore and the demonic eredar. For the eredar that escaped Argus, see Draenei. For the other subspecies, see Lightforged draenei, Broken and Lost One.

The eredar are a race of supremely talented magic-wielders who arose on the planet Argus countless millennia ago. Exceptionally skilled in magic, their mastery of the arcane arts were renowned throughout the scattered worlds of the Great Dark Beyond. [2] Led by a triumvirate of wise and powerful leaders — Kil’jaeden, Archimonde and Velen — they built a vast civilization of wondrous cities and a peaceful way of life on their home world.

However, 25,000 years ago, the Dark Titan Sargeras shattered the tranquility of Argus by offering the eredar immeasurable knowledge and power. [3] The eredar were a knowledge-seeking race, as such Kil’jaeden and Archimonde accepted Sargeras’ offer. The titan bathed the eredar in his fel might, and turned them into demonic members of the Burning Legion. Velen and his followers however managed to flee Argus with the help of the divine naaru, who would rename them draenei, or “Exiled Ones”.

The draenei refer to their corrupted brethren as man’ari (pronounced man-ah-ree) [4] , or “unnatural beings”. The word “eredar” designates both the demonic, man’ari eredar as well as the original eredar race, of which the draenei are representative, but mostly for the former as it has developed a negative connotation. The original eredar are also referred to as the Ancient Eredar. [5] The man’ari now act as some of the most powerful weapons in the Burning Legion’s arsenal. [3] Skilled sorcerers in both fel and shadow magics, they are often found in command of contingents of demon forces. [6] When facing eredar of great power, large armies are useless for the most part. Their corruptive powers over mortal souls are such that only the strongest-willed can even stand face to face with them. [7]

History

Long ago, on the planet of Argus, the noble and enigmatic [8] eredar race arose. They are one of the oldest known races in the universe. [9] They were extremely intelligent and had a natural affinity for magic in all of its forms. Using their gifts, they developed a vast and wondrous society, [10] in which art, science, magic and technology were all as one. [11] Their society was powered by argunite. [12] [13] They were a >[14] though it had been a gift bestowed upon them by the naaru in ancient times. [15] The eredar were apparently ruled by political regimes under the rule of multiple capable persons. The Second Duumvirate consisted of Kil’jaeden and Velen. [16] [17] Velen was an exceptional master of holy magic, who once used T’uure, a holy artifact of the naaru, to cure a curse that robbed the eredar of their mental capabilities. [18] An order of eredar mages called the Wakeners under the leadership of Thal’kiel first delved into the Vo >[16] [19] The eredar hunted great horned beasts for sport, [20]

The dark titan Sargeras, in order to create a great Legion, planned to bolster his ranks by creating demons. [21] He was attracted by the eredar’s magical affinity, and contacted them under the guise of a benevolent being, promising their three leaders, Archimonde, Kil’jaeden, and Velen, vast powers and that he would use his power to transform their race into an even greater one so they may spread his universal union. A troubling vision soon came to Velen, who saw the eredar transformed into unspeakable demons. But despite Velen’s misgivings, Archimonde and Kil’jaeden agreed to join Sargeras’ Burning Legion. [22] The eredar were the first sentient race to pledge their allegiance to Sargeras. Knowing that other sentient beings would inevitably join the Legion, the eredar declared that their primary language, Eredun, would be the Legion’s common language. [21] Argus became a demon world, and the stronghold of the Burning Legion. [23]

With his fellow eredar already becoming corrupted by demonic power, Velen, along with those who would follow him, split from the man’ari — who were, by now, a “twisted demonic reflection of” the original eredar [24] — on Argus with the help of the naaru, renaming themselves the draenei, or “exiled ones” in Eredun. [22] The man’ari continued to call themselves “eredar” [24] under Kil’jaeden and were infuriated with what they perceived as a betrayal. They hunted Velen and the draenei across dozens of worlds for thousands of years as the draenei used a massive naaru dimensional ship called the Genedar to escape. Every time it seemed that the draenei had found a new home, the Burning Legion would fall upon them. One such world was Fanlin’Deskor, whose surface was ripped apart by the Legion, after which nothing was left behind. [25] The indigenous races of many worlds were oftentimes mutated by the eredar’s malevolent warlock powers and turned into demons themselves.

Both factions continued to use the Eredun language, though specific dialects have evolved: the demonic Eredun and Draenei languages.

The draenei traveled through most of the cosmos and eventually discovered another, safer world to settle down upon. They named this world Draenor, or “exiles’ refuge”. At first there was peace with the native orcs living there, and they struck up trade and diplomacy with the shamanistic race. But soon the draenei’s existence there was discovered by Kil’jaeden via his agent, Talgath. This time, however, Kil’jaeden dec >[22] The draenei used the dimensional ship known as the Exodar, a vessel of the great naaru fortress Tempest Keep to escape to the world of Azeroth to ally with the Alliance.

To this day, the draenei remain loyal members of the Alliance, and the man’ari, now the most stalwart enemy of the draenei, comprise the commanders and strategists of the Burning Legion. [9] [26] The eredar have rewritten Argus history books to paint Velen as a traitor. [27]

20 Million People Tuned In For International ‘Dota 2’ Championships

  • by John Jacques
  • – on Jul 31, 2014
  • in Gaming News

Those who don’t know much about the eSports scene will probably be surprised that more than 20,000,000 fans streamed The International Dota 2 tournament two weeks ago The event, which ran from July 18th-21st, had over 2 million concurrent viewers in their run-up to the grand total of 20 million streamers.

With the best Dota 2 teams from the entire world assembled, it was a must-see for active fans of the game and evidently garnered interested from elsewhere too. In the end, the International Dota 2 Championships have certainly made a strong case for e-sports as a whole.

The total prize pool for the tournament totaled just over 10 million dollars, with the winning team taking a cool 5 million US dollars for their efforts along the path to success. With such serious money and support behind the tournament, it’s not surprising to know that the event was covered online and through mobile devices by both ESPN2 and ESPN3, which marks one of the first times a major sports network has gone all out to air an e-sports competition. Valve’s very own founder, Gabe Newell, appeared on the channel this past Sunday – and his coworker Erik Johnson had this to say about the event:

From the success of the Compendium to the collaboration with ESPN, this year’s International really demonstrates how much competitive gaming has grown to rival traditional sports. We believe the teams have also pushed to a new level of play this year and will further demonstrate the incredible advances made across this tournament since it first began three short years ago.

The competition had a unique way of raising funds for the event called the Compendium system. Players could purchase a compendium in-game, of which $2.50 would go to funding the prize pool of the tournament. The compendium could then be leveled by making purchases within the Dota 2 store, or collecting drops inside the game, which would then reward the players with different tiers of cosmetic items. The system was a huge success – it would be hard to argue that the 10 million dollar prize pool was in any way a failure.

Compared to last year’s championships, 2014 brought in about double the number of concurrent streamers. Games like Dota 2, StarCraft 2, and League of Legends have made strong impacts on the eSports scene, which isn’t devoid of its own controversies. We won’t even go into the popularity of online gambling base on the game. Though still more popular in countries like South Korea and China, it’s good to see the influence and competitiveness of competitions like this are on the rise in North America and Europe as well.

What do you think about e-sports, Ranters? Is this your scene, or would you prefer to watch different games?

The Best Hardware for Dota 2: Keyboards, Mice, and Monitors

Whether you’re looking to raise your MMR or you play Dota for fun and you’re in need of new gear, it’s easy to find peripherals out there that promise to enhance your gaming performance. If you’re not sure where to begin, we’ve put together a useful guide to help you find the best hardware for Dota 2.

Best Mechanical Keyboards for Dota 2

Mechanical keyboards are almost universally preferred by gamers. Unlike membrane keyboards, a mechanical keyboard offers a pleasant tactile experience and, even more importantly, ensures that every keystroke is actuated by the same amount of pressure each time. Membrane keyboards are unreliable at best, and while they might be acceptable for work and casual gaming, you’ll quickly leave them to gather dust once you’ve had a chance to try out a good mechanical keyboard.

There are plenty of excellent mechanical keyboards out there, but we’re partial to the Logitech G Pro Keyboard, especially for Dota. Best dota 2 keyboard configuration for ipad If the $129.99 price point of the Logitech G Pro scares you off, we’ve also had good experiences with mechanical keyboards from Corsair and SteelSeries, many of which are slightly cheaper.

If you need to be selective about which peripherals you’re upgrading, a mechanical keyboard should be a top priority for most Dota players.

Best Gaming Mice for Dota 2

Finding a gaming mouse you like can be quite a personal thing. One person’s dream mouse might feel weird and uncomfortable in the hands of someone else. Most professional Dota 2 players prefer lightweight optical mice, but if you’re struggling to find space on the keyboard for your hotkeys, there are models out there that include up to 20 side-buttons. While DPI settings are, again, a matter of personal preference, you want to make sure you’re getting a mouse that has a wide range of native DPIs. Don’t be fooled into thinking that a higher DPI is automatically better — at the end of the day, DPI is mostly a number used by manufacturers for marketing purposes, and there is no ‘ideal’ DPI. Many Dota 2 players prefer to play at 400 or 800 DPI, and these are the native settings on many gaming mice.

The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse was our favorite peripheral of 2016, and it’s perfect for Dota 2. Other trustworthy manufacturers of gaming mice include Zowie, Corsair, and Razer.

Best Monitors for Dota 2

When it comes to monitors, it’s all about speed. Games of Dota are won or lost because of split-second interactions, and the input lag of standard work monitors can place an artificial cap on your skills as a player. Finding a monitor with a low response time is essential, and check out the specs of any model you’re looking to make sure that you’re buying a product with a response time lower than 5ms.

The refresh rate of a given monitor is another key factor to take into consideration. While having a 144hz monitor isn’t essential in Dota the same way it is in CS:GO, it’s a massive quality-of-life upgrade.

Accurate color reproduction is not so important for gaming so the panel type doesn’t matter quite so much. There are a few monitors on the market, like the Asus AG279Q, that combine all these feature on an IPS panel, but they’re not cheap.

Finding the best hardware for playing Dota isn’t easy, and a lot of it will come down to personal preference. We recommend going to a physical store and trying out products in person before making a purchase. The best hardware isn’t cheap, but if you’re able to sniff out good deals, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Cloud 9 and SFZ: the longest game in competitive Dota 2 history

Dota 2 history was made in a Stage 1 Star Ladder Star Series game between Cloud 9 and ScaryFaceZ as the two teams faced off in what has become the longest played game in competitive Dota 2.

The previous Dota 2 record holder belongs to a game between 4 Friends + Chrillee and Team Dog during the FragBite Masters 2014, which lasted 2:05:26.

The game between C9 and SFZ shattered the previous record, as it officially ended after 3:20:34.

Countless other records were broken because of the game’s length as nine of the 10 heroes that were selected had new last hit records by the game’s end.

Last hit records New Old
Disruptor 427 188
Sniper 1563 834
Earthshaker 562 330
Zeus 1019 430
Bristleback 1756 514
Clockwerk 508 365
Puck 1145 737
Rubick 597 267
Chen 578 265

The only last hit record for a hero that was not broken was for Anti-Mage. Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao only managed to get 1070 last hits, while the record for the hero is an absurd 2000 last hits achieved by Ilya “Illidan” Pivcaev. QwisTa’s Bristleback came close, and is in second place for last hits with 1756.

Other interesting stats include:

  • Most kills by a single team: SFZ had 108, ASUS. Polar held the previous record with 89.
  • Most deaths by a single team: C9 had 109 deaths by game’s end
  • Most deaths by a single player: Pittner “bOne7” Armand broke the record for most deaths in a game with 26 deaths. The record was held previously by an unknown player with 25 deaths.
  • Most last hits in a game: SFZ and C9 hold the first and second place in this category, scoring 5327 and 3898 last hits respectively.
  • Most damage done by a Hero: Ivan “Artstyle” Antonov’s Zeus broke the hero damage record with 68699 damage dealt to heroes. The previous record was held by Illidan on Anti-Mage with 62155 damage dealt to heroes.
  • Most assists in a game: The top three record holders are SFZ players, with Zeus getting 68, Disruptor getting 47 and Bristleback getting 46. The previous record was 43 on Elder Titan.
  • Most health restored in a game: Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein’s Chen broke the hero healing record with 29635 healing done. The previous record was 26513 by a Witch Doctor player.
  • Most gold spent in a game: The top three records for gold spent in a game are held by participants in the match, namely EternaLEnVy, QwisTa and Adrian “FATA-” Trinks.

dara’s Sniper broke the kills record for the hero with 38, but still behind Illidan’s Anti-Mage with 44 kills, and Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s Templar Assassin with 40 kills.

The game can be found on Star Ladder’s Twitch page, with the draft starting at around 1:45:00, and the game starting at around 2:05:00.

All stats were aggregated using datdota. Dota 2 longest game com.

General DiscussionCan someone explain how blademail actually works?

Sometimes it does a lot of damage sometimes it does no damage.

For example i blademail a Void that has maelstrom it usually kills hims but sometimes he has bkb and it doesnt hurt him. Does that mean if he is doing magic damage what is return is also magic damage and thus if he is magic immune it doesnt hurt him? This would mean if i lower the enemy armor blademail would do more damage of if he is a magic dps applying a veil would increase the blademail damage?

For 4.5 seconds, duplicates any damage taken back to the unit that dealt the damage.
Cooldown icon25Mana icon25
Damage Return is calculated before any kind of reduction.

Damage Return doesn’t reflect damage from other forms of Blade Mail.

Returned damage type is the same as it was received.

Can pierce Spell Immunity if the original damage type does.

A razor-sharp coat of mail, it is the choice of selfless martyrs in combat.

imagine having a 3year badge meanwhile u dont know about item descriptions and tooltips.
P. S. KEKW

Ignore this fucking moron.

It returns the same damage type you dealt before reduction meaning if you have a spell that deals 600 damage it will always reflect 600 damage regardless of the user’s magic resistance. However the damage will be reduced by your own magic resistance or you wont take any damage at all if you are spell immune.

It also means that in situations where you have significantly more armour than the blade mail user you can often kill them through it despite having less HP. This was particularly noticeable on pre-nerf drow ranger where you would completely ignore enemy armour thus taking very little damage from their blade mail compared to them since drow has high armour gain

well thats the problem with playing dota for a long time. They make so many changes all the time. Things ingrain in your head suddenly change without you knowing if you say stop playing a week or 2. I am pretty sure blademail damage was pure for a while. Meaning any damage you receive will return pure. There was a time you can lifesteal off blademail as well and even further back it was only magical so bkb will block all damage. So it is really unfair to use the excuse playing for a long time = you know everything.

I dont think it ever did pure damage but it definitely used to return damage after reduction as (magical?) damage but some retarded people on this forum would expect you to know the exact mechanics of blade mail and when it was changed 🙂

Cause ur a completely stupid child with absolutely zero social skills and your attitude fucking sucks

ya i understand. but u could check description anyway. its fair enough if i make fun of it 😀

Cause ur a completely stupid child with absolutely zero social skills and your attitude fucking sucks

i believe 2016 blademail stop getting the pure damage. For about 6 years before hand blademail always been pure thus like I said ingrain in your head. My guess is now if you have elder titan or you have a veil or solar crest you can actually increase the blademail damage?

some retarded people on this forum would expect you to know the exact mechanics of blade mail and when it was changed

@kowareta
there are a lot of retarded topics in this website which is written by manchild bluestar players, why don’t you talk shit to them ?

first, its not talking shit, its making fun. grow up and dont be insecure about everything.
second, i will if i find. mention one.

No idea how blademail works. I just buy it cause it has spikes.

Fk yea spikes are cool

if u play lc go buy blademail and duel tb and see how much damage he takes, the answer is fucking none

before u could buy hp and no armor and instantly kill morp tb etc

Blademail used to reflect pure damage or just hp removal. Then it became too OP at a point, it now reflects the type of damage it receives.
It’s good that you’re aware. These mechanics always change and it’s better/easier to train your gameplay than learning these interactions.

6.60
Changed Damage Return damage type from Magical to Pure.

6.87
Damage Return
Now returns damage in the same type as it was received, instead of always being pure.

Dota 2 wiki is a great page for learning these little things.

so this is what I am talking about. Should I get a solar crest to increase the blademail damage or even a veil if say I am blademail a viper since all he has is magic damage and he has magic resistance.

Blademail damage does not exist if no one hits you

Should I get a solar crest to increase the blademail damage

As explained in the article of the link, the more armor the target has, the less value it has :
– If the attacker has 42 armor and you reduce it by 8, you’ll amplify only the damages returned by like 5% to 7% (low value armor)
– If the attacker has 16 armor and you reduce it by 8, you’ll amplify the damages returned by 17% (high value armor)
=> The solar crest + blademail trick is stronger against high value armor.
To give you an overview (not gonna redo the maths but to give you an idea), if you are a clockwerk with blademail against a PA, using the solar crest on the PA will amplify the damages returned by like 5% to 7% whereas keeping it as an armor buff will allow you take 17% more damages.
In other words:
– If you use the solar crest on the PA, you’ll return like 5 crits amplified by 5%
– If you keep the armor given of the solar crest, you’ll return like 7 – 8 crits, hence, more damages

TLDR: Yes you amplify the damages with solar crest active absolutely thinking but keeping the armor stats from the item can allow you to tank and, hence, return more damages. It’s all a matter of balance between high value armor VS low value armor with you and the attacker.

Dota 2 axe 1v5 nasus

Dota 2 axe 1v5 nasus

Dota 2 axe 1v5 nasus

Dota 2 axe 1v5 nasus

Axe taunts nearby enemy units, forcing them to attack him, while he gains bonus armor during the duration.

Radius: 275
Bonus Armor: 30
Duration: 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3
Cooldown: 10
Mana Cost: 80 / 90 / 100 / 110

This is Axe initiator’s, skill, he will lock up all enemies at 275 radius of area, is a great skill to make enemy stop conjuring skills, like stop Witch Doctor’s Death Ward, or Nevermore’s Requiem of Souls, escape, attack your allies, etc.
I recomendo getting one score in level 3 or 4, when you have all primary skills complete at 10, finish leveling Berseker’s Call in 12-14 level’s.
This skill is also a great way to use Counter Helix a lot of times, damagind all surrounded enemies.

Skills: Battle Hunger

Battle Hunger

Enrages an enemy unit, causing it to be slowed and take damage over time until it kills another unit or the duration ends. Axe gains moviment speed for each unit affected for battle Hunger.

Duration: 10 / 13 / 16 / 19
Movement Slow: 10%
Bonus Movement Speed: 4%
Damage Per Second: 15 / 21 / 27 / 33
Total Duration Damage: 150 / 273 / 432 / 627
Cooldown: 20 / 15 / 10 / 5
Mana Cost: 75 / 85 / 95 / 105

This will be the skill which the build will focus on, combining this skill with Urn of Shadows will deal a lot of damage. First use Battle Hunger then use Urn of Shadows in the same enemy hero you used Battle Hunger, the damage over time incresses by the total of 150, isn’t a lot of damage by itself, but combining those two, you will deal a total of 777 damage on a single enemy hero. Great way to kill a enemy hero after a team fight, or a great way to nuke, and to get a kill!

This skill requires a lot of mana, has a very low cooldown of 5seconds on 4th level, thats why you need to get arcane boots, will give you mana, and when you activate arcane boots, you will restore 135 of mana to you and all allies within 600AoE.

Skills: Counter Helix

Counter Helix

When attacked, Axe performs a helix counter attack, dealing damage to all nearby enemies.

Radius: 275
Chance to Helix: 17%
Damage: 100 / 130 / 160 / 190
Cooldown: 0.65 / 0.6 / 0.55 / 0.5

It’s important to say: Counter Helix triggers from the beginning of an attack targeting Axe, not when the attack hits.

This is the primary damage skill of Axe, can do a lot of damage in matter of seconds, killing a lot of creeps, and enemy heroes, but can also be barely activated sometimes, this is why use Berseker’s Call is so important to this skill, you can get a lot of creeps and heroes to turn themselves to attack you, will significantly increases your chance to use this skill, so basically, more enemies attacking you, more chances of this skill activate.

Skills: Culling Blade

Culling Blade

Axe spots weakness and strikes, dealing moderate damage but instantly killing an enemy unit with low health. WHen a enemy is killed in this way, Axe and nearby allied units gain bonus moviment speed.

Damage: 150 / 250 / 300
Kill Threshold: 300 / 450 / 625
Range: 150
Bonus Movement Speed: 25%
Movement Speed Radius: 600
Movement Speed Duration: 6
Cooldown: 75 / 65 / 55 (6*)
Mana Cost: 120 / 160 / 200

Well, what can i say? this skill is totaly awesome, thats why you will make Aghanins Scepter for you Axe, you will kill hero after hero with this.

Items

I start with Urn of Shadows recipe and 2x Gauntlets of Strenght and a Iron Branch
and i finish ASAP the Urn of Shadows , Why? Mana Regeneration, and that awersome activation witch will help us get a lot of kills combining with Battle Hunger will deal a lot of damage, but remember, always stay close to dying enemy heroes to collect charges for Urn of Shadows, and remember, you dont always need to use a charge of Urn of Shadows to do damage, you can also heal youself or a allied hero in case of need.
Important to say that at a certain point you can sell Urn of Shadows to start or finish you Extension or Luxury Items.

After you finished Urn of Shadows you will start immediately with Arcane Boots , the Replenish Mana will help you and your teammates a lot, you may ask, why not Soul Ring and Tranquil Boots ? Axe is a very Fighter Hero, and when you use Tranquil Boots , it’s healing stop, so you will use Soul Ring to trade 150 of Health to 150 of Mana, then you will spend 25 of mana to start to heal that 150 of health, it’s a great strategy, but axe need to be in the m > Soul Ring and Tranquil Boots .
And of course, Vanguard you probably wanna to get hitted every time, by creeps and enemy hereos to activate Counter Helix , so it’s a perfect combination Vanguard will prov > Heart of Tarrasque or have a slot for another Situational Item.

Aghanim’s Scepter is a great choice to make, will make you Culling Blade get a extremely cooldown reduction, plus Health, Mana, plus +10 in all attributes.
After making Aghanim’s Scepter you can start to build you Heart of Tarrasque buying Vitality Booster .
With Blink Dagger you can iniciate a team fight to secure your team a great advantage, use Berserker’s Call to lock up the heroes and start to damaging all fo them with Counter Helix , kill low health enemy heroes with Culling Blade and get the others with Battle Hunger and Urn of Shadows . And if you dont want to make Dagger you can buy a Reaver to accelerate you Heart of Tarrasque

Heart of Tarrasque will incresses Axe’s Health in a extremely scale, and will give him a badadd health regeneration after a fight, provide him a great durabilty.
Radiance will give more AoE damage, 45 of magical damage/second will both combine with Battle Hunger and Counter Helix .

Blade Mail Good against carriers, if that Phantom Assassin or Drow Ranger is giving you trouble, give trouble to them as well.
Black King Bar will give you damage and strenght, and will protect you agains disablers.
Pipe of Insight , Health Regeneration, magical damage reduction and when active gives you and closed allies a magical barrier than shield you guys up to 400 magical damage.
Shiva’s Guard will give you armor and int, but the best think in it is the passive aura you have, reducing nearby enemy units attack speed can be helpfull, and when activated Shiva’s Guard will release a wave that deals 200 of damage and slow their moviment speed by 40% 4s duration.

Playing as Axe with this build

Be super hiper agressive, this is only way axe can be effective, when a wave comes and you eneme heroes are melee, be the first to get to this wave and kill all creeps with Counter Helix , you can use Berseker’s Call to lock up the heroes too, damaging then, and you can secure kills with Battle Hunger + Urn of Shadows , it’s very effective.

You will start to make your Vanguard , it will help you with health and health regeneration and damage block, witch will make you kill hundred’s of creeps withouth even taking damage. And to tank heroes and creeps with Berseker’s Call.
Aghanim’s Scepter you make you more killer them ever, a 6seconds cooldown in you ultimate, and you can kill hero after hero in a matter of seconds, securing gold to make more expensive and better itens.
Blink Dagger will help you to iniciate all team fight’s and chase enemy heroes.

If you succeed you can finish the game with 2xHeart of Tarrask you can change your Arcane Boots to Boots of Travel , Aghanim’s Scepter , Blink Dagger and 2 Situational Items depending on the enemy heroes, remember that if your enemy team is winning, get one situational item to help you and your team to counter them and get the game back to your hands.

The International 2060 meme shows some of the best players as old men

Downtime between events leads to some interesting content from the community.

The long wait for The International 2019 has just begun and that means Dota 2 fans are only doing two things: grinding Battle Pass levels and making memes.

Thanks to some talented photoshoppers on the Dota 2 subreddit, everyone can see what some of the top teams in the world would look like if they were still playing Dota in about 40 years.

Team Secret on Twitter

We’re ready to take on @virtuspro at The International 2060!

Team Secret was the first image to blow up, showing the top-ranked team in the world looking just a little bit past their prime. Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, in particular, really looks like the grandpa that goes on a jog every morning before heading to watch his grandson play some baseball.

Peter Dager on Twitter

@NiPGaming @f0rest @GeT_RiGhT @REZcsgo @PlopskiCSGO @Lekr0 @AceDota @DotaFata @Saksadota @33Dota Dislike.

That was just the tip of the iceberg, though. Once Secret posted the image on Twitter, Virtus Pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas, many other teams got in on the action.

Virtus responded to Secret on Twitter telling them that they would be ready for the matchup when the time comes to play 41 years from now by posting an image of Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov looking ready to go despite his advanced age. NiP also posted in response to Secret, showing their own very seasoned team.

The TI 2060 meme only spread from there. Team Liquid also showed its squad is going to age very gracefully if the filter is anywhere near accurate.

On the other hand, Evil Geniuses looks like they all walked out of the retirement home for the first time in years to don their old jerseys. Reddit had a blast with this one, comparing Gustav “s4” Magnusson to everything from a mad scientist to Chancellor Palpatine from “Star Wars.”

Evil Geezers

It wasn’t just current rosters that got involved in the meme, though. The legendary Natus Vincere roster from 2014 showed off different takes on old man Puppey and Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi. Not only that but it also gave us a look at Danil “Dendi” Ishutin as a very cuddly grandpa. Dota 2 newspaper meme social

This kind of content along with Bot TI and other smaller events help fill the gap and keep the Dota 2 community rolling between Major events.

TFW you go to sleep making a TI 2019 post and wake up to find everyone posting media pictures from TI 2060. https://t. co/q338RB9lY2

The International 2019 will begin on Aug. 15, and if competitive Dota is still around in 2060, TI 2060 probably won’t feature many of these teams.

Chemical Rage Quit

1. Gameplay tips
2. Alchemist Abilities
3. Game Phasing
4. About these items.

Gameplay tips

Once you complete armlet you will now have the ability to deny yourself with your own unstable concoction, you can simply turn off your armlet to 1 health and let your stun deny yourself.

Acid spray can aggro neutrals out of their camp and allow you to stack them as well. Practice Acid spray placement to help stack.

Once you get your medallion you can use it on neutrals and it will draw aggro, this will allow you to stack neutrals that you couldn’t reach in time to body pull, or due to night time sleeping neutrals.

You can solo roshan once you complete armlet medallion level 11+ ( bring an ally if you’ve never done it before)

If you realize that your still will backfire, find a pocket of fog and cross your fingers!

Always be stacking neutrals! It is an integral part of alchemists Goblin greed and overall timing for item purchases

Alchemist Abilities

Acid spray is one of the best abilities in the game IMO, it allows your to clear neutral stacks which is a huge part of alchemists game plan, stacking neutrals and clearing with Acid spray is a great perk to this hero. Acid spray also serves as a way to zone your opponents in lane, and to push your enemies back in tower battles. But overall it’s just an amazing ability, it does great damage early and can cover an entire team fight with -6 armor. So it’s important that you position this well in team fights as it’s duration is just as long as it’s cool down.

Unstable Concoction can be a double edged sword, but only if you don’t know your scenario when casting. It’s important that you use fog to your advantage when using this spell without Shadow blade or even a blink dagger. If you just run up to an enemy while casting this they will disable you or even just run away. You need to start charging this ability up from some kind of fog near your enemy, that way when you start to approach your target he has no chance of escaping or evading it.

This is your quota ability, and will allow you to farm faster and harder than any other hero, this ability on average will bring me 90-110 GPM above anyone else. Although It’s important that you leave it at rank 1 until you have maxed all of your other abilities due to the fact that increasing ranks only increased the base amount of gold obtained on kill, not the stacking amount.

Chemical Rage is alchemist’s defining ability, granting godlike health and mana regeneration, insane attack speed and a great deal of move speed, but more than anything this ability has a insanely low cool down when compared to it’s duration. 25 second duration with a 45 second cool down. Combined with a shadow blade you can be in infinite gank mode due to the sustain of this ability. It’s also important that you have the foresight to negate projectile targetables. For example Skeleton kings stun can be evaded by activating Chemical Rage at the moment of impact, this goes for any targeted enemy spell.

Game Phasing

1 minute to 12 minutes in – This is your farm time! On average I can farm up a armlet in 9-12 minutes which means you should be doing the same thing. Also stack neutrals when ever the clock allows, I always have a quad to penta stack of neutrals waiting for me once I hit level 7 to clear with 2-3 Acid sprays.

12 to 20 minutes in – This is still your farm time! You are after all alchemist, but it’s important that you have good awareness of what is going on when and where and to always carry a tp scroll to gank. Keep stacking neutrals and keep farming. Farm on your hero is exponentially better than any other. By the 20 minute mark you should have your Medallion and Power treads. Note that you still help out with ganks, but you won’t be going out of you way to gank. Gank when your allies rotate to your lane for them! Alchemist is one of the hardest carries in the game, so play accordingly. Also once you finish armlet and medallion set up for a roshan kill as it is easily achieved with Medallion + Acid spray.

20 to 30 minutes in – Hopefully you can finish up your shadow blade soon. When you finish your Shadow blade you will be in permanent gank mode! Move your *** to the enemy neutrals and impose your will upon the enemy team. Steal their neutrals and sit and wait for them to show themselves. Start your stun, enter stealth and drop that 4 second stun and shred them to pieces.

30 minutes to end of game – At this point you are ganking with no need to farm, you are at the Hulk mode and will only get stronger.

About these items.

It’s important that every item build you use on a hero has direct synergy with his abilities, which is why I have a heavy armor reduction item build. With Gas cloud and Medallion I can -12 armor anyone I want to early. This allows me to set up any kill for my team or myself in the right scenario.

I rush armlet because. well it’s one of the best items in DotA to me, and on Alchemist it pretty much makes him invincible combined with his ultimate. It also has a great build order, which allows you to buy Helm of Iron will to make up for his early lack or armor and great health regen until you hit level 6. Plus 65 dmg for 2600 gold is pretty godly, with a toggle on 400 health life vest.

After armlet I pick up my Medallion for further – armor capabilities and it’s great for neutraling and soloing Roshan at level 11 ( Which this hero can do)

After that I work towards my power treads and then Shadow blade. Now I bet you’re wondering why I choose shadow blade? Previously when I played alchemist I would go for a Blink dagger to use my stun to it’s full potential, but what I found out was I couldn’t solo any heroes when I spent 2,150 gold on a damage-less initiation item, so I tried Shadow blade and haven’t looked back since. Shadow blade upon completion will allow you to go in full force 1 man gank mode. You can start your Unstable Concoction and use the stealth activation from shadow blade and begin the search for your target. This will allow you to get in close and even open up with the 125+ backstab into a 5 second 440 damage stun, then combo your gas cloud into medallion and destroy your target before he can even become un-stunned.

Do note it’s important that you semi track down your target before you start your stun, get an idea of where he is when use the fog to your advantage to scout.

After shadow blade Stygian is great for some damage and – armor, being you up to -18 armor on enemies, pretty much doing true damage and +%amped damage.

Vlads will help you with sustain via life steal in team fights and is also a great team buffer.

Replace Medallion for Assault cuirass later and Heart for Armlet slot.

Check out some of my match replays for insight behind the build, and what your game phasing should be.

Dealing With Necrophos

Necrophos is among the top 3 heroes in pub win rate, even after the nerfs to Ghost Shroud and Reaper’s Scythe in patch 7.06f. But even at 3rd place, he still remains as the 6th most popular hero in the game (21.85% pick rate). He wins more games than every other top hero in the pub meta, and that means players are losing just as much, especially in the 2-3k MMR bracket, where he’s posting an astounding 59.36% win rate.

Necrophos had his spotlight at TI, but the truth is that he has long been strong in the pub meta. Dota 2 necro ancient school He has easy-to-use skills, an impactful aura, and a defensive skill that turns a Magic Wand into Cheese. That’s not to mention Reaper’s Scythe, which has an underrated benefit with its shrieking animation of aligning teammates to focus on one goal of killing that target. While his imbalances remain, there are a few things pub players can do to mitigate his impact in the game.

Lane Pressure

Is the offlane really the best lane for Necrophos?

Necrophos can draw his lane, but he won’t necessarily win it. He has no way of killing a solo lane opponent. And he has a poor attack animation and movespeed; it’s the reason why he’s typically played in the safelane in competitive games. That isn’t the pub meta, which rarely endorses an Intelligence hero as a carry in the safelane.

In pubs, Necrophos is played mostly in the offlane (45.38%). It’s not the best fit for him. He can’t resort to the jungle, and Ghost Shroud just isn’t enough to escape. But it’s a sign of how innately effective Necrophos is, and the inability of pubs to capitalize on early game weaknesses, when that’s the lane where he’s also posting his highest win rate.

Pub players stand to benefit by being more aggressive against passive lanes. Newbee tried this against Liquid in the Grand Finals by pairing a strong offlane duo of Lich and Legion Commander in Necrophos’ lane (they won the lane but lost the game).

Play The Hero

This seems like exacerbating the issue, but one of the best ways to understand how to counter a hero is to just play it. If there’s ever a hero that seems impossible to counter, playing it a few times will reveal that’s not always the case.

As it stands, many pub players don’t grasp the mechanics of Necrophos’ skills, that Heartstopper Aura is underrated in its impact, Ghost Shroud not only means you can’t attack him, but that its magic damage vulnerability means he can be incinerated with a Laguna Blade.

Necrophos isn’t the creeping tank of death that he feels like when playing against him. Not every opponent will sit in the lane and let Hearstopper Aura tick away and zone them out. Getting a better grasp of how a hero works, not only just his skills, but in context of stages of the game, with and against different heroes, is essential to getting better.

Glimmer Cape

Glimmer Cape has lost a bit of its luster since its introduction (nerfs to magic resistance and cooldown), but when it came into Dota it was Necrophos’ worst nightmare. The item is more situational these days, but this is exactly the perfect time to consider it again. It does require a reaction that’s quicker than 1.5 seconds—the stun time for Reaper’s Scythe. The active is enough to save a teammate and make enemy Necrophos players second guess their Scythe timing.

Another way to save your teammate

Diffusal Blade

Ghost Shroud is one of the more annoying spells to deal with against Necrophos. He has a natural Ghost Scepter, and its regenerative bonus makes him that much tankier when he has even just a handful of charges on a Magic Wand. It’s worth it for many cores to pick the item up even if it’s not in their usual core items.

Anti-Mage

Because Necrophos’ ultimate is based off % HP, it scales well in the late-game. That doesn’t matter to Anti-Mage. Spell Shield’s 50% magic resistance at level 4 is enough protection to shrug off Necrophos’ presence in the game (Aghanim’s Scepter upgrade might be worth it in this case). And since Necrophos’ skills are mana intensive, he leaves himself vulnerable to a Mana Void when he’s forced to target his ultimate on a better target.

The hero was again Newbee’s counterpick against Team Liquid. It worked well against the hero, just not against everything else.
