Snapfire is a ranged strength hero armed with a wide array of firepower, riding into battle on her dragon toad Mortimer. Her powerful Scattershot blasts foes who get too close, while her mounted turret increases her range, allowing her to unleash a barrage of rapid fire attacks. Snapfire’s coveted Firesnap Cookies give allies a boost, allowing them to leap a short distance. The cookies aren’t her only secret weapon, her dragon toad has the ultimate nasty surprise for the enemy team—a long range artillery barrage of Mortimer Kisses that coat the map in searing lava. Bio [ edit ]

Beatrix Snapfire and her dragon toad Mortimer are a welcome sight to the ragged folk who scratch out lives along the desert routes and oases scattered throughout Nanarak, the rain-forsaken gateway to the Outlands.

As well known for her unrivaled skills as a weaponsmith as for dispensing wisdom, mirth, and the meanest firesnap cookies the world has ever seen, Beadie’s survived to a ripe old age in a young keen’s trade by being quick with her wits and even quicker with her guns.

Indeed, the Outlands are littered with the bones of bandits and ne’er-do-wells who thought to take advantage of her small stature and propensity for kindness.

Abilities [ edit ]

  • An additional visual effect is played on enemies hit at point-blank range.
  • Damage dealt at point blank range is 120/225/330/435 ( 210/315/420/525).
  • The cookie travels at 700 speed and cannot be disjointed.
  • Destroys trees upon landing.
  • Can not be cast on rooted targets.
  • Sets Snapfire’s base attack time to 1.0, increases her attack speed by 300, and sets her attack damage to 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 for the duration.
  • Each affected attack places an additional instance on the target and refreshes the duration of the whole stack.
  • Can reduce up to 120/150/180/210 attack speed if all attacks are aimed at one target.
  • Attack speed slow also affects towers, even through Glyph of Fortification.
  • Deals a total of 270/360/450/540 damage.
  • Shoots globs over a period of 6 seconds, meaning that one glob is shot every 0.857 ( 0.4) seconds. Skilling the +8 globs talent doubles the firing speed and maintains the 6 second period.
  • Issuing a move command causes Snapfire to turn in the direction of the targeted point and re-targets subsequent globs at that point.
    • If the command is targeted outside the maximum range or inside the minimum range, the glob will be launched the maximum/minimum distance respectively in the direction of the move command.
  • Enemies making contact with firespit pools receive a debuff that slows movement speed by 25% ( 50%) and deals 25/37.5/50 damage every 0.5 seconds. The debuff lingers for 0.5 seconds.
    • The debuff does not stack. Touching any pool will refresh the debuff’s duration.

CodenameE’s guide to Hard Carry definition

CodenameE’s guide to Hard Carry definition

1. What is a Hard Carry?
2. Why does a team pick a hard carry?
3. Why are hard carries so popular?
4. List of popular Hard carries EDIT: In no particular order
5. Conclusion

What is a Hard Carry?

Hard carries are considered the most powerful and dangerous heroes in Dota able to become extremely scary in the late game. They usually are Agility heroes which copliments their tendency for insane DPS through sheer auto attacks.
In the early game and the biggest part of mid game, they are still pretty vulnerable and not as impactful. This is directly connected to the fact that their farm is intensive throughout the WHOLE game. No hard carry should wander around when no teamfights or pushes occur. They must constantly and quickly farm to get their big items and get powerful enough to “carry” their team.
Although technically any hero can become a carry in that sense, hard carries are those heroes who are particularly better at it but have no other significant contribution. A popular semi-carry like Axe is often utilised as an initiator. Same goes for Kunkka who has a great teamfight ultimate that matters more than him being really farmed. Hard carries though have almost no other purpose than becoming powerful and dominating teamfights.
Carrying your team means that when your team cannot deal with the enemy directly, you take the responsibility to clean the house. The hardest of carries like Spectre or Anti-Mage are known for enormous team wipes in the late game being able to lead their team in a teamfight through sheer right clicking power. Of course, that doesn’t mean they are invincible.
And that’s pretty much the tone as most hard carries have this vulnerability which is more or less dealt with by the very late game but is very obvious, particularly in the early game. This has led to a very common pattern for most hard carries of “2 active and 2 passive abilities”. The two passives usually provide protection and a scaling damage-offensive ability. The two actives provide a versatile spell to help them survive and farm more efficiently and another spell that is usually a nuke or more offensive spell to allow their attacking prowess to shine. This pattern isn’t a law as several hard carries stray a little outside this pattern in some points, but it shows what a hard carry is all about: remaining alive, natural vulnerability, emphasis on constant farm, scaling power and influence.
Hard carries are a risk and that is why they are not seen a lot in the competitive scene. A game doesn’t always go to the 35-40 minute mark or more and teams are increasingly more focused on ganking which is a hard carry’s worst nightmare because either he will die or miss on farm significantly. That’s why Anti-Mage and Alchemist are some of the most picked hard carries in the pro scene since they are notorious for their insane farming speed that allows them to bounce back if they are denied farm.

Why does a team pick a hard carry?

In games where the strategy isn’t offensive or focused on pushing, hard carries are a guarantee to victory as the clock ticking is their ally. A well-farmed hard carry can turn the tides of battle with just his presence and particularly in the late-late game, hard carries set the tempo.
They get harder and harder to kite or focus, and if they allow you space to invade them, they punish you immediately. Nothing is scarier than a farmed hard carry late game and you should either want him dead or out of a teamfight.
But as stated before, waiting until the game reaches the late game to allow the hard carry to shine can be a mistake as the enemy team might end the game early because of the very reason you want it to last longer. And their line-ups will reveal their tendency to do so.

Why are hard carries so popular?

In the friendly discussions on “who is the best hero to play” it often (mistakenly) comes to “who is better at murdering your face”. Hard carries are the best heroes at that despite their desparate need for farm and levels for that and that’s why many people either love them or absolutely hate them (Cancer Lancer anybody?).
As their name suggests, they are also pretty hard to play as last-hitting and positioning are increasingly more important and demanded for their success. This difficulty yet lack of complexity (unlike Meepo ‘s micro-management or Invoker ‘s spell combinations) makes them the most popular choice for the majority of experienced players in the community. The fact that they are the most likely heroes to get a rampage and a HOLY **** streak as well makes them pretty popular for newer players too, who want to be in the center of attention.

List of popular Hard carries EDIT: In no particular order

1) Anti-Mage (Do I need to say more?)
2) Phantom Lancer (My personal favorite, he is just plain awesome. Period)
3) Spectre (Hard as an old piece of oak)
4) Ursa (Many people disagree but his scaling DPS through his tankiness has hard carry written all over it)
5) Alchemist (Give him more gold!)
6) Lifestealer (Not the hardest of carries but yeah he is a tough guy)
7) Viper (He can become a nasty carry if built tanky, but it’s still debatable whether he is that hard of a carry)
8) Phantom Assassin (Crit queen!)
9) Faceless Void (The moniker for the most difficult of late-late hard carries)
10) Dragon Knight (He is kinda debatable because of how early in the game he can peak)
11) Sniper (Kinda poor in general but hey if he gets his farm..)
12) Drow Ranger (Hard to stop but easy to take down also not the best of hard carries out there)
13) Luna (Squishy but not to be underestimated-especially with those Moon Glaives )
14) Medusa (She is ugly as hell but she is so hard as the stone she will turn her enemies into)
15) Morphling (Well, he is Morphling :P)
16) Outworld Devourer (His unusual dependency on intelligence items only makes him quite special-and more easily countered though-but the scaling he has along with his pure damage potential is really scary late game)
17) Shadow Fiend (The ultimate farmer yet the ultimate fragile hard carry since he can easily lose much of his damage output and advantage by just one death. His ultimate is unusually powerful for a hard carry)

Conclusion

Whether a hero is a hard carry or not comes pretty much to playing them in different builds to see what goes and how it goes so my theory around it is pretty much a general line of the current metagame rather than an unbreakable law on which hard carries should be built.

Early career and Mouz [ edit ]

In 2006, a team called World Eaters emerged with KuroKy as its core player; they won a competition hosted by DotA-League. com. However, after the team disbanded, Kuroky joined Mousesports in 2008. In November 2008, mouz defeated MYM in MYM Prime Defending. However, Drayich left the team and Puppey played as a stand-in in a competition.

Ks. int [ edit ]

With Puppey in Ks. int, KuroKy was invited to join with the rest of mouz’s members. In DLM, Ks. int won the competition.

Mousesports [ edit ]

After ComeWithMe had visa issues and could not attend The International 2012, KuroKy was invited as a stand-in and played alongside the rest of the mouz roster. He was later invited to become a part of the team temporarily after the departures of 1437 and ComeWithMe.

Natus Vincere [ edit ]

In February 2013, LighTofHeaveN decided to go inactive for 2 months, while ARS-ART passed to team Virtus. pro. KuroKy and Funn1k were announced as their replacements.

Team Secret [ edit ]

In August 2014, KuroKy left Na`Vi and joined Team Secret together with s4, BigDaddy, Fly and former Na’Vi teammate Puppey. [1] When he first joined the team, unlike in Na’Vi, he played the carry role, but went back to support again once Arteezy joined the team. In August 2015 it was announced that he leaves the team and might form a new one together with FATA – [2] .

5Jungz [ edit ]

Shortly after his departure from Team Secret, KuroKy appeared as captain on the roster of the newly formed Team 5Jungz together with FATA-, JerAx, MATUMBAMAN and MinD ContRoL. They later got signed by Team Liquid.

Team Liquid [ edit ]

Team Liquid was able to win The Defense 5 and also finished as runners up at The Shanghai Major 2016 with KuroKy playing the joint highest number of different heroes at the tournament.

Dota 2 on Mac: Can your Mac run it?

Posted by Ric Molina | Jul 10, 2019

Dota Underlords may be the hot new game everyone is talking about, but Dota 2 is still one of the most played games in the world.

That’s right, in spite of being 6 years old now, the free-to-play MOBA from Valve is stronger than ever. In fact, Dota 2 is currently the second most played game in the world, with 450,000 concurrent players in one day.

The sequel to the infamous mod, Defense of the Ancients (DotA), Dota 2 pits two teams of five players against each other. Each team has to defend its own base while trying to destroy the enemies base.

You’re in control of a “hero” with unique abilities, and with more than one hundred to chose from, mastering your hero while playing as a team is a real challenge. This explains why MOBAs are so hard to master and why their community is so demanding (and borderline abusive with beginners).

Bottom line: It may not be as big as League of Legends, and Heroes of the Storm is still my personal favorite, but Dota 2 is still one of the best MOBAs you can play. With a 90 Metascore and 85% Positive reviews on Steam from over a million gamers, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Dota 2 Mac requirements

Before we go any further, these are the game’s Mac system requirements:

  • OS: 10.9 or newer
  • Processor: Intel Dual core
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia 320M or higher, or Radeon HD 2400 or higher, or Intel HD 3000 or higher
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 15 GB available space

As you can see, this isn’t a demanding game by any means. Requiring merely an Intel HD 3000 means any modern Mac should be able to run it without breaking a sweat.

That said, for a long time gamers complained on Reddit that it was hard to get a smooth and consistent experience. We take it for a spin to see how it really runs on MacOS.

Can you run Dota 2 on Mac?

Unlike our official reviews on which we test a game on several Macs, we tested Dota 2 on the following macbine:

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016): 2.0 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, Intel Iris Graphics 540 (1.5GB)

This Mac should be a fair compromise as it remains a modest machine because of its integrated graphics but it’s still recent enough to compare with most MacBook Pros out there.

We tested the game on 1280×800 and Medium settings using the Exclusive Fullscreen option (which results in much better graphics and performance):

We ran tests using both the OpenGL and Vulkan rendering API.

Using the still standard OpenGL option, our MacBook Pro runs the game at an average 51,8 FPS (frames per second), which is more than enough for most:

Be aware that FPS can significantly drop when several heroes get into a fight simultaneously. For that reason, it’s better to run the game using modest settings for an overall acceptable experience.

We did run the game using the Vulkan API (which you need to install before running the game) and found it to be as fast but more stable. In the words, we experience a similar 50 FPS on average performance but the drops were less pronounced.

That said, the game did crash a few times meaning Vulkan is not ready for primetime.

Bottom line: If you own a recent Mac, you should be able to easily run Dota 2 on Medium settings. And remember, the game is free-to-play so it can’t hurt to try it for yourself!

Dota 2 Mac download

Dota 2 is a free-to-play game that is exclusively available on Steam.

Gods: The Dead God
Characters: Hroth
Throsho
Sahsk
Artifacts: Chains of Abscession
Texts: Tael’Am
  • Anti-Mage hates magic.
  • Despite being an acolyte at the time of his escape, Anti-Mage has learned some techniques of the Turstarkuri, possibly from its dogmatic scrolls. [1]
  • After escaping from Turstarkuri, Anti-Mage continued to meditate in the ways of the Monks of Turstarkuri. [2]
  • Anti-Mage feels guilty about being the only survivor, and continues to see his old friends through his mind’s eye. [3]
  • Anti-Mage has knowledge of the Tael’Am.
  • Anti-Mage has a relationship with the Highsand Nomads, becoming one of their initiates. [4]
  • Anti-Mage has vanquished Hroth, the Anvil Magus. [5]
  • Anti-Mage has vanquished Throsho, the shapeshifting sorcerer. [6]
  • Anti-Mage has vanquished Sahsk, and was rewarded for his deed by the sovereign of Yoskreth. Because of these victories, his fame grew. [7]
  • Anti-Mage is working with Nortrom for the Tyler Estate. [8][9]
  • Originally, Terrorblade was supposed to be Anti-Mage’s brother. This is a reflection of their characters used in DotA. The relationship has likely been removed from the lore. [10]

Relationships [ edit ]

The Chains of Abscession, an ancient relic corrupted by the Dead God, now serves its master in its desire to hunt down Anti-Mage. [11] It has since fallen into Pudge’s hands, who now seems to share the Chains’ desire of consuming Anti-Mage. [12]

Biography [ edit ]

w33’s was born and raised in Romania with a Syrian father. Apart from Romanian, w33 is proficient in both English and Arabic. He began playing DotA in 2004, switching over to Dota 2 in 2011. Prior to pursuing a professional DotA career, w33 studied chemical engineering at university.

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Over time, w33 grew into a well-known pubstar. He obtained the highest MMR of any player for a significant amount of time, even becoming the first player to breach 8000 MMR. His first team was Balkan Bears, a team that he built with friends and other high-level players. Although the team failed to achieve good tournament results, w33 was able to showcase his exceptional ability at playing solo mid, going toe to toe with some of the top-tier mids. w33 became particularly known for his ability to play Meepo, who was considered a niche and unconventional pick.

After Balkan Bears disbanded, w33 was invited to join the team MeePwn’d alongside veteran players such as H4nn1 and pieliedie. However, the team did not manage to produce any significant results and disbanded two months after formation. However, w33 did not remain teamless for long, as he quickly returned to Balkan Bears. Two months later, w33 was offered to join 4 Clover & Lepricon with veterans such as Pajkatt and EGM. This time w33’s team managed to produce some results, winning minor tournaments such as GIGABYTE Challenge #15 and MSI Dragon Battle 6. Three months later, w33 was invited by Puppey to be a part of a rebuilt Team Secret alongside EternaLEnVy, MiSeRy and pieliedie.

During his time at Team Secret, w33 had large amounts of success. Much of this success came from w33’s solo mid play on Windranger, Invoker, and Meepo. Team Secret won multiple premier-level LAN events such as the MLG World Finals and the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships. Although they were among the best teams in the world in terms of tournament performance at the time, they were upset in the first Dota 2 Major, the Frankfurt Major by OG, ending up in second place. After the major, Team Secret looked shaky but nevertheless continued onto the next major with the same roster, the Shanghai Major, which they won handily. Despite w33’s solid solo mid performances during his time on the team, he was removed from the team in the post-Shanghai Major reshuffle.

With not much time remaining before the next major’s roster lock, w33 was cons >[1] He believed that as underdogs, the pressure and expectation would be less and he would perform better. After an eventful series, he finished runners-up in the tournament, losing to Wings Gaming 3-1 in the grand finals.

Following the International, w33 and his team sustained mixed success into the new year; victorious in ESL One Genting 2017 but several underperformances during the competitive season led to the departure of the team, and reformation to Thunderbirds. The reformation was short-lived and w33 spent a year playing for various European teams, later flying to Brazil to play for PaiN Gaming in April 2018. [2]

Dota 2 Server required in India,

Please PLease PLEASE install a server in india! There are lots of indians who play dota and that too very well. Since its a developing nation a good proportion of the players do not have good internet bandwidth. So people stick to playing dota. Dota 2 india server offline windows While the dota2 players like us connect to the se, china, eu east (not australian because of racist abuses over the mic and through the chat stream ) ; we do play with huge latency. Many of use fall into low priority because of this.

So considering all this please install a server here!

What connection are you using? Many Indians i know always have a ping less than 150

no i have a fine connection! its the rest i am talking about! there are many who have installed dota2 but quit playing !

Don’t expect valve to do this in this year, they already got alot on their plate

We do. The actual problem with Indian ISP’s are, the customer support dont know jackshit when you go into technicals and the ROUTES, are FUCKED UP! like I get 500ms on SEA server, just because Im being routed through US like a backdoor route which might be more cheaper/efficient for my ISP, but the problem is, I have no other ISP to choose from which guarantees good routes. I would change from BSNL to some local random provider, but can also end up getting same routes etc etc.

We really need an Indian server, I mean even if you add an 8th goal to the compendium saying ‘Servers for India ‘,I’m sure it will get unlocked in a week. Its really that bad. Dev’s please help!

There are thousands of players play dota 2 in india. Dota 2 india server offline windows but there is no server in india seems like bullshit.. if valve install dota 2 server in india . players from india, pakistan, and other mid asian countries. It will also encourage esports in india ( which is biggest esport market in world)

I fail to see how India is the biggest e-sport market in the world.

I think he meant e-sports is the biggest market in the world, maybe ? India definitely isn’t.

I use bsnl, city im in is chennai
SEA server -> 65 ms always
Talking about racism, being Indian still i think Indians are the worst. they go full retard mode in hindi and the bane is that i understand the language and get irritated and Indian stacks are the worst to play with and unfriendly.

Note – aussies ten times better than an indian stack of four when im solo queuing.

Back to your point about server in India -> business wise for Valve its unprofitable and of no use. Everyone with an avg connection like bsnl can get a decent ping from India to my knowledge. Only northen places like delhi might have pings above 100. But not above 200 , i mean its still playable or the can choose eu east. I get pings near 180 in eu east. But racism and cryllic characters of Russians in eu east deters me from playing there.

It is impossible to play dota these days
You can go only full party. If you are with 2,3 friends, better leave them and go solo queue.
At least in solo queue you don’t find party of russians, you can still find russians (like any other nationality, ofc) but you don’t find premade party of russians spamming in russian in voice chat and not speaking a single word of english, behaving like idiots, insulting you in voice chat (you can get that just from hearing them laughing in voice chat, I don’t have idea what they are saying), feeding or playing like trolls (typical things like pick support and not buying wards or courier, stealing lasthit to the carries, picking a carry when there are already 2-3 in the party, etc. etc.)

I don’t like Valvle behaviour on this point.
If I chose ENGLISH in the language and then I get only russian teammates spamming in russian, I want to be able to report them and see them banned.
if anyone chose english server, he has to speak english in chat. Period.
Not beeing a mothertongue, but at least some basic english to coordinate. Or just be silent and use Y and ping on the minimap.

Instead they are arrogant, they spam in voice chat or text chat all the time.
I’ve tried several time with the report, not a single ban was given (I’ve received no message that any taken action was against one player reported)

any single time i queue with 2-3 friends and not in a full party, I get 2-3 russians in my team that completely throw my game.
They hate themselves so much, they don’t even wanna play between them. Valvle has given them east europe servers and they don’t play there.
Don’t misunderstand me, I have no problem with a russian coming to west europe server and speaking english. there are some. but for most of them this is not the case. and even the experience of the few that speak english is ruined by their connational not doing it, since report are not working on this topic (GG valvle)

And since dota is free, and in russia consoles are very expensive, you get all the world playing dota and ruining other people’s experience

I have friends that have stopped playing dota for this reason, or that plays only in full party now

That doesn’t really make any sense, and yet Valvle simply don’t care.
I want to be able to play dota with my friends even if we are 2,3,4 and not always a full party (maybe I don’t have friends online for a full party in that moment, maybe some friends just started a game. )

In the current situation it’s only 5 men team or go alone in solo queue.
GG Valvle

We have already a matchmaking that is quite not working at all, if you can’t even guard yourself from behaviour like these and report are simply not working, what is all this about?

I would prefer dota to be with a subscription or an entry cost like 40$.
I’m pretty sure that 50% of the people ruining this game won’t be there in that case (and 90% of them would be russians)

It’s not being racist.
I’m italian and I usually get all the typical jokes about italians. I know something about other people insulting your nation and nationality.

But, loud and straight, on west europe server there is no other nationality spamming with arrogance in its own language in voice and text chat even when asked politely to speak english, and that’s a fact. It doesn’t happen with french, with german, with spanish, etc. etc.

I’ve taken some records.
Of the last 40 games that I haven’t played in solo queue or full party, 35 were with 2-3 russians in my team spamming russian in voice and text chat. 32 were lost cause of their gameplay.
Nonsense
