Matchmaking Rating, or MMR is a value that determines the skill level of each player. This value is used in matchmaking. Winning increases a player’s MMR, while losing decreases it.
Ranked Matchmaking allows players to earn seasonal ranking medals based on their MMR. Players with the highest ratings are listed on the world Leaderboards.

Matchmaking
In general, players with similar MMRs will be matched with each other. Four MMR values are tracked, depending on the role selected. MMRs for core and support influence each other by a set percentage.

MMR for ranked matches require approximately 10 games to calibrate. Players who rank in the regional top 200 for solo ranked matchmaking will appear on the Leaderboards.
Bot games and Training matches do not use MMR.
Distribution Estimates
Valve
In December of 2013, Valve gave the following MMR distribution for solo unranked matchmaking across the entire player base. [1] It is unknown how much these figures have changed since 2013.
Percentile indicates the percentage of players who are lower than the corresponding MMR. For example, a player with 3200 MMR would be more skilled than 90% of the total population.

OpenDota
Subsequent analysis of public player profiles collected by OpenDota shows a higher average MMR of approximately 3100. This figure is assumed to be skewed upwards, as it is generally believed that newer and less skilled players are less likely to display their MMR publicly, and therefore are not considered in the data analysis.
Uncertainty
Uncertainty is the standard deviation of a player’s MMR.
Players with high uncertainty are more likely to be matched with players that differ more greatly in skill level, and vice versa. Ppd dota 2 mmr rating
New accounts with few games played tend to have high uncertainty, while older accounts with many games played tend to have low uncertainty.
Since normal and ranked matchmaking are tracked separately, a player who has many normal games will still experience high uncertainty in ranked matchmaking if they have only played a few ranked games, and vice versa. Ppd dota 2 mmr rating
Higher uncertainty leads to larger MMR adjustments after each match, and lower uncertainty leads to smaller adjustments.
Highly uncertain matches are sometimes called swing games because their outcomes are “breakthrough” moments that are indicative of a player’s MMR progression or regression.
If game outcomes (win/loss and indiv >Party
In general, parties receive bonus MMR when searching for matches. This is meant to compensate for superior party coordination, as well as partying with highly skilled members.
Parties’ skill and experience values are counted as an aggregate, not indiv >Updating
MMR will not be changed if:
A non-partied member of your team early abandons a normal match.
Poor network conditions have been detected. A message must appear in game in order for this to apply.
MMR will be changed if:
Any member of your team late abandons.
Any member of your party abandons in any form.
You are playing a ranked match, regardless of any abandons.
Dota 2 is Valve Corporation’s Real-Time, Action, and Strategy game released in 2013.
Dota 2 offers the following styles of gameplay.
Real time strategy games do not have turns, but instead have both players competing at the same time. They typically involve a mostly top down view and involve troop and building creation as well as resource management such as mining and logging. Popular examples are Warcraft and StarCraft.
Action games are usually a bit faster than other games and require quick reflexes. You frequently jump platforms, shoot enemy mobs, climb ladders, and
Strategy games tend to focus on planning and skillful thinking in order to beat either real players or bots. They can be either real-time in which the play clock ticks continuously or turn-based where each player has a dedicated turn to finish their action. It is not uncommon to include exploration and resource management.
How to Port Forward Dota 2
When you are playing Dota 2 you might need to forward some ports in your router. Forwarding ports is a useful trick in gaming because it can really help to make your network connection most stable and on occasion even faster. Routers were not designed to allow incoming network requests and some games can play tremendously better if an incoming connection is forwarded through the router to the game.
Before You Forward a Port
Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things:
Your router’s IP address.
The IP address of the device that the game will play on: either your computer or your console.
A list of TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.
How to find your router’s IP Address
The easiest way to locate your router’s IP address is to run our free Router Detector utility. It’s a part of the Network Utilities suite of tools and it’s completely free to use.
How To Forward Ports
To easily and quickly get your ports forwarded use the Network Utilities software. Network Utilities allows you to forward ports only when you need them, and then close them again when you are done. This makes keeping your network more secure much easier. You can also do it by hand.
The general process for forwarding a port is:
Start by logging in to your router.
Find your routers port forwarding section.
Put the IP address of your computer or gaming console in the appropriate box in your router.
Put the TCP and UDP ports for your game in the matching boxes in your router.
Frequently you have to reboot your router for the changes to take effect.
Ports To Forward for Dota 2
The network ports for Dota 2 are as follows:
Dota 2 – Steam
We have guides that are custom tailored for Dota 2 that will show you the required incoming ports.
When you are done following those steps your ports will be forwarded. Be sure to check out our full list of games and programs that can be forwarded.
The hotkeys settings can be accessed by clicking on the little gear icon in the most top left corner in the main menu. Here, the player can customize many hotkeys, or select one of the many pre-set hotkey templates. Almost every key on the keyboard can be bound to something, with a very few exceptions. The exceptions usually have a set purpose in the game and thus are un-rebindable.
Contents
Unbindable keys [ edit ]
Several hotkeys have a set purpose, which cannot be changed. This results in them mostly being un-rebindable.
The following keys are completely unbindable: ESC, SHIFT (left and right), CTRL (left and right), MOUSE 1, MOUSE 2
The ALT key can only bound together with other keys, as a combo key. The ALTGR key is treated as the same key.
Although the ALT modifier can be bound to another key, ALT is still unbindable. When the modifier gets rebound, ALT has no use.
The WINDOWS KEY (left and right) (or COMMAND KEY on Apple keyboards) are unbindable, but they can be turned bindable in the advanced hotkey settings. These keys keep their default function, which is opening the start menu on the desktop. This is true even when the keys get bound ingame.
The PRINT KEY is fully bindable, but it also keeps its default function, which is to take screenshots.
The following keys are bindable on their own, but cannot be combined with ALT: PRINT KEY, TAB
All other standard keys are bindable.
Basic hotkeys [ edit ]
Basic hotkeys are active while playing a match. The player can change the hotkeys at any time, even during a match. There are hotkeys for abilities, items, unit actions, shop actions, chat, interface and control groups. In the advanced hotkeys, there are additional settings for unit actions, shop actions, interface and control groups, and the hotkeys for camera actions, saved camera positions and some hotkey setting options.
Hotkey templates [ edit ]
By default, the game uses the “Arrow (Default)” hotkey layout. The player can choose from a variety of pre-set hotkey templates, which can be found by clicking on “Reset hotkeys. ” at the bottom left of the settings menu. Available templates are:
Template
Description
Arrow (Default)
Dota 2 default hotkeys.
WASD
Dota 2 default hotkeys, adapted for using W, A, S and D for camera movement.
Legacy Keys
Dota 1 style hotkeys; with different ability hotkeys for every hero and unit. 1
MMO
Key bindings similar to various Massively Multiplayer Online games.
League of Legends
Key bindings similar to League of Legends.
Heroes of Newerth
Key bindings similar to Heroes of Newerth.
Smite
Key bindings similar to Smite.
1 Legacy keys can also be enabled by ticking the corresponding option in the Advanced Hotkeys settings, rather than starting over with this template.
Activating a template unbinds all hotkeys used in it from their existing actions. Hotkeys can still be changed freely after selecting a template, except Legacy Keys’ item hotkeys.
Abilities [ edit ]
There are 6 ability slots which can be used. If one slot is empty and contains no ability, it is not visible in-game, and all abilities coming after it are moved together. For example, if a unit has an ability in slot 1 and 3, but no ability in slot 2, then the 2nd slot is not visible and the 3rd ability is moved next to the 1st ability, so that there is no gap. However, the slots are still bound according to the settings. Despite the 3rd slot being moved to remove the gap, its hotkey is still equal to whatever is set for the 3rd slot in the ability hotkey settings.
Heroes usually have 3 abilities in their first 3 slots, and their ultimate always in the 6 slot. This causes the ultimate spell to always use whatever hotkey is set for the 6th slot, despite the ultimate visually appearing in the 4th slot. This is why the hotkey of the 4th ability on non-hero units is not equal to the hotkey of ultimate abilities. The non-hero unit has 4 abilities in its 4 slots and has the 5th and 6th slot empty, so they are not displayed. If its 4th ability would be moved to the 6th slot, it would make visually no difference, but change its hotkey to what is set in the 6th slot.
By default, the ability hotkeys apply to every unit the player controls. It is possible though, to bind different hotkeys to heroes, couriers and other units by turning “Unit Specific Hotkeys” on. It is also possible to bind unique hotkeys for each hero, however, this is not possible for other units. Clicking on “Clear” after having given non-hero units, couriers or an individual hero unique settings, sets the hotkeys back to what the player set as default.
The player can choose between regular cast (select spell and then select target) and quickcast (select spell and automatically cast it where the cursor is). Autocast is by default ALT+ability hotkey. It is possible to choose between regular and quickcast for couriers, non-heroes and for each hero, just like how unique bindings are possible. If the player wishes to use regular and quickcast, or wants to use different autocast hotkeys, the “Enable Advanced Quickcast/Autocast Hotkeys” setting can be turned on, which allows setting different hotkeys for regular, quick – and autocast for each slot. This also works together with unit specific hotkeys. However, advanced quickcast/autocast hotkeys is not compatible with legacy hotkeys. Here, the player can only decide between regular and quickcast, and autocast is always ALT+hotkey.

Players, be prepared to earn your ranks, as Dota 2 has released the new Ranked “medal” system into its game client. Now, instead of relying on a numerical value, players will earn “medals” as they climb higher in Ranked matchmaking.
While medals will change with performance, there’s nowhere to go but up. According to the game client, “The peak of your skill this season is displayed by a rank medal. [. ] Medals are a reflection of the highest rank you’ve earned.” This means if you peaked at Tier 4 but now play at a Tier 3 level, the Tier 4 medal will display on your profile.
The medal rankings are as follows, inascendingorder:
These are also split into five “stars” to indicate progress through the medals. Each player’s medals will be displayed before and during each game.
Players aiming for higher medals will need to work on their solo queue skills. According to an official blog released along with the update, performance in solo queue is the only way the Ancient and Divine medals will be considered.
Those aiming higher will also be rewarded more easily. All Five-Star Divine players will be automatically included in the Leaderboards, and each will be given a number indicating their rank among such players. These will be displayed on profiles, as well as in-game like any other medal.
The blog states the MMR system is maintained in six-month “seasons,” and MMR is re-calibrated at the start of each season, with initial matching based on prior performance. At the end of the season, the medals are “retired” and displayed on a player’s profile through the next season.
It appears, meanwhile, that the numerical MMR system has vanished from the client, including player profiles. However, players will maintain a private MMR that can be found in their personal stats page on their profile.
The old system, based on number credits alone, was in effect for nearly four years, since December 2013. This new MMR system was announced when the Dueling Fates update dropped, though the timeline given for its release was much shorter—two weeks—compared to its actual three-week timeline.
A seasonal MMR system has been requested for a while, though the medal system came as a surprise to many. It now parallels games such as Valve sister game Counter-Strike: Global Offense, RTS classic Starcraft and MOBA rival League of Legends.
[EDITED November 23, 1AM ET, to include private MMR found on personal stats page.]

11 Palabra fiel es esta: Si somos muertos con él, también viviremos con él;
24 Porque el siervo del Señor no debe ser contencioso, sino amable para con todos, apto para enseñar, sufrido;
25 que con mansedumbre corrija a los que se oponen, por si quizá Dios les conceda que se arrepientan para conocer la verdad,
26 y escapen del lazo del diablo, en que están cautivos a voluntad de él.
Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan is a Pakistani professional player currently playing for Evil Geniuses . He holds the record for being the youngest player to win The International at 16 years old in 2015.

Early Life [ edit ]
Sumail was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1999. He started to play Dota 2 at 7. In 2014, his family moved to Chicago, United States. [1]
Professional Career [ edit ]
Sumail joined Evil Geniuses after the departure of Arteezy and zai. [2]
Along with Evil Geniuses, SumaiL managed to take down Vici Gaming 3-0 at the grand finals of DAC 2015, taking home almost $1.3 million dollars. He is now respected as one of the most talented players in the scene. Even at 15, SumaiL proved that he could compete on the same level with other elite solo m > Storm Spirit play.
SumaiL has most often been compared to Arteezy and Dendi, since all three of them are all highly skilled solo mid players who attracted attention and joined professional teams at a young age.
Controversy [ edit ]
SumaiL has frequently been criticized for exhibiting bad manners and flaming opponents during games. Evil Geniuses manager Charlie “Monolith” Yang has acknowledged that “[…] people that like to watch aggression, bad manners and people with no filter. They can watch Sumail” [3] Some observers argue that SumaiL still has a great deal of time to mature and point out that other players once known for their poor in-game manners, such as Arteezy, have since improved their behavior.
SumaiL and Evil Geniuses placed 5th/6th at the International 2019 and gained $1,201,552 which is 3.5% of the total prize pool. After the International, he parted ways with Evil Geniuses and began to play with his brother YawaR in pub matches. Then it was rumored that the new roster he will be in the future will compose of CCnC, MSS, SVG, YawaR and him.
I have assumed that you have low end PC and low end Internet and you may be knowing many of the stuff earlier. If you know anything, skip to next step.
Even if you have high specs PC and fast internet, there are still some stuff which can be useful for you. You can implement as many steps as possible or as you wish. This will ensure that you have a smooth gaming experience.
I. Hard Disk Defragmentation If we talk in easy language, Information is stored in form of small boxes on your hard drive. So for example if Dota 2 is distributed on 25 boxes, then these 25 boxes will be scattered over whole hard disk. So de-fragmentation allows you to combine all those boxes in 1 part of your Hard Drive for smooth working of game.
Here is how we do it- 1. Go to My Computer 2. Right click on C Drive and from drop down menu, select “Properties“. 3. Go to “Tools” tab and select “Optimize“. 4. Another new window will open. Select the the drive in which Dota 2 is installed and click on Optimize. 5. Give it some time, it may take from 1 hour to 5 hours depending upon size of your hard disk and you are done.
Each time Dota 2 Crashes, it creates a crash dump report file in case you want to report the issue to steam or whatever reason they got. Size of each file is almost 35 MB. So just make a guess how much space that can create on your hard disk after every 6 months ?
First time I cleaned those files I freed up 2.3 GB of space form my Dota 2 folder. Again after almost 3 months this size has swelled up to almost 850 MBs.
You can remove all these files with “.mdmp” extension. Do not worry it does not create any issue, I tested it my self. You can locate those files in C :/Program Files (x86)/Steam /SteamApps/Comom/dota2beta.
Here is how those files look like.
Just try and tell me in comments below, how much space you have got back ?
In case your C Drive is full of stuff and even after trying so much you can not get free space in it, then you need to install in any drive other than C Drive. This can be a harsh but more stable solution. Here is how you can do it.
1. Uninstall Dota 2 from your system (The part with hardest feelings though 😀) 2. Click on Install button in Steam. When you will install it, it will ask you where you want to install it ? Then you should give it path to other drive where you have got enough free space. 3. Dota 2 needs only 13 GB of Disk space, but it is advised if you can keep almost 25 GB free space for Dota 2 for upcoming updates etc. 4. With this method, you will also erase all unnecessary files from Dota 2 Folder which actually occupied space in your hard disk. For example, if you just check out your Steam folder, it will be minimum 20 GB plus. But actually Dota 2 is of just 13.7 GB. So what are rest of those 7 GB files ? Those are just junk files that are stored on your computer regularly on each update. 5. Once you will install a new copy of Dota 2, then only almost 14 GB space will be consumed and you will free another 5-10 GB of space for sure.
Even if you have an awesome internet connection, still you should not run parallel downloading while playing Dota 2 online. It will eat out your bandwidth and data packets. Result may be high pings and may be packet loss too, thus lags and delay. That is why it is highly recommended to shut down all torrent and other download managers.
Windows 10 is not like other operating system of windows in many aspects. There are many good features in it but for gamers it is really pain in the a**.
Magic Solution to All Windows 10 Problems : Revert back to your previous version of Windows till we get a stable version of Windows 10
If you are facing regular Dota 2 crashes, then you need to read this guide to fix your Dota 2 Crashes.
It gives you almost all the solutions to the Dota 2 crashing problems. Give it a go.
Most of the antiviruses have Gaming mode by default in them. Activating gaming mode will prevent your antiviruses from making any popup notifications. These popup notifications will minimize your game some times.
You can well imagine the fate if you are in middle of a gank and suddenly a stupid notification or ad from your antivirus appears and your Dota 2 gets minimized. When you restored your screen and you know your hero is dead and you have lost the battle and now your Barracks are under attack. So just activate gaming mode before you play Dota 2.
I recommend using Avast Antivirus software which is free for 1 year. Well, here is a cheat, make a new email address every year and then make a new account to keep your antivirus free permanently. Thank me later 😀
You may have an excellent gaming PC for playing, but you need to optimize your settings specially video settings so that everything works perfectly. If you have good Graphic Card and RAM, you can play Dota 2 on high settings. But in case you don’t have high performance system, you will have to optimize your settings.
In game graphics should never get priority over in game performance. So you must first fix the performance issues, then you should go for good graphics.
You need to read this guide to optimize your Video Setting.
With console you can literally change your in game Dota 2 experience. We already have a detailed post about it which can tell you in detail about Console & autoexec cfg
You must enable Network Information while playing Dota 2. It gives you an insight of game while playing. For example, if your Pings drop while playing, that means its your network issue, you need to fix your internet. But in case if your FPS drop, that means it has nothing to do with your internet, rather its your PC. So you will fix PC problem in later case.
That is why it is always advised that you keep the network information active. In Source 1 Dota 2, you had to enable it via Console, but thanks to Source 2 engine, Dota 2 Reborn has an option in settings using which you can Enable FPS and pings.
After settings are save, you can see FPS and network information like this.
Some times it may be your internet providers and some times it may be steam which may be causing high ping and lag issues. Obviously you cant perform well if you have high pings or lags.
I suggest you to use WTFast [www. wtfast. com] . It is a software specifically developed for the sole purpose of reducing in game ping and lags.
1. Go to main Steam window, right click on Dota 2 (or whatever game you have) and go to Properties. 2. New window will open. Go to 2nd tab which is Updates. 3. Go to background updates and select “Never allow background updates“. 4. Click Close and you are done.
In case you if you have lags and delays issues, then you should also have a look at this article Dota 2 FPS Issues And Crashes (Possible Fixes). It will surely help you.
