A Casual’s Gu >Simultaneously play Dota, watch Netflix, and eat tacos (with a little help from SteelSeries Engine).

What’s not to love about being casual? From casual clothing, to casual dating, to casual nights at home – casual gaming exists because we’re not all aspiring to be esports pros. It would be great to be 9k+ MMR, but is sitting in the

Patch 7.06 recently removed all respawn talents, which means in a long game you could be looking at a lot of free time while you’re dead. This can be seen as a real win for casual Dota players everywhere.

Here are some tips and tricks for maximizing your chill without losing too much MMR (if you’re actually looking to improve at Dota, you probably want to try another guide, or at least skip to #4 where we discuss Engine.

Casual Dota Tip #1: Tacos

Have some tacos while you wait to respawn. Make sure to mute your headset while you do this so your friends don’t taco ‘bout you eating in Discord.

If you’re not a heathen, you should probably wipe your hands before you touch your mouse/keyboard again.

Casual Dota Tip #2: Netflix

Slap on some Netflix reruns for watching while you’re dead and enjoying your tacos. This is especially nice if you get annoyed when you die – is there any frustration that The Office Season 5 can’t solve?

If you don’t already have one, get a second monitor. (Not pictured: second monitor)

Casual Dota Tip #3: Havin’ a Giggle

Break up the salt mine with a bit of humor. Extend an iron branch to the enemy team. Ask their carry to 1v5 your team. Plant happy little trees. Or happy little rapiers.

Only do this if the game is most definitely over.

Casual Dota Tip #4: 3-2-1-GO!

Use Engine to set a respawn timer to LED 2, so if your hand is off the mouse (tacos, bro) you’ll get a reminder to wipe those grabbers and get back in the game. This is the closest thing we have to J. A.R. V.I. S. in terms of Dota notifications (probably).

Why not just watch the in-game timer to know when you’ll respawn? Well, some of us are eating and watching the Office on full blast, so a flashing light might be a helpful reminder that it’s time to jam.

You’ll need at least 6 seconds for a Doritos® Locos Taco, 5 seconds for a standard taco, but only 3 seconds for a quesadilla, so adjust your respawn alert accordingly.

Casual Dota Tip #5: Buyback

You probably don’t pay enough attention to reliable buyback. Who wants to do math in Dota anyway? Hovering over your gold button in-game is one way to check, but in the heat of battle you want to know the second that you’ve secured enough buyback gold.

Set your scroll wheel (LED 1) to light up a sick Bob Ross cadmium-yellow the second that reliable buyback is ready.

Casual Dota Tip #6: Fire Safety Plan

Oh boy, you’ve really done it. You are getting killed. Maybe it was because this scene was on Netflix and you couldn’t look away. Maybe you thought you could just sneak one bite of that (dang) quesadilla. Dota 2 1 minute manager Or, maybe you were paying attention to the teamfight in front of you, but there’s a Sniper shooting you from 3,000 miles away. Regardless of the reason, you’re HP is falling fast and you need to react.

Tell Engine to alert you when you’re below a certain health, then use the rush of fear and adrenaline to sharpen your decision making.

It’s time to smash that casual shadow blade hotkey faster than you can choke on your taco.

Turney Dota 2, Event Perdana Dari ONE Esports

Dota 2 axe guide 6 8215 lionel

Dota 2 axe guide 6 8215 lionel

Axe taunts nearby enemy units, forcing them to attack him, while he gains bonus armor during the duration.

Radius: 275
Bonus Armor: 30
Duration: 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3
Cooldown: 10
Mana Cost: 80 / 90 / 100 / 110

This is Axe initiator’s, skill, he will lock up all enemies at 275 radius of area, is a great skill to make enemy stop conjuring skills, like stop Witch Doctor’s Death Ward, or Nevermore’s Requiem of Souls, escape, attack your allies, etc.
I recomendo getting one score in level 3 or 4, when you have all primary skills complete at 10, finish leveling Berseker’s Call in 12-14 level’s.
This skill is also a great way to use Counter Helix a lot of times, damagind all surrounded enemies.

Skills: Battle Hunger

Battle Hunger

Enrages an enemy unit, causing it to be slowed and take damage over time until it kills another unit or the duration ends. Axe gains moviment speed for each unit affected for battle Hunger.

Duration: 10 / 13 / 16 / 19
Movement Slow: 10%
Bonus Movement Speed: 4%
Damage Per Second: 15 / 21 / 27 / 33
Total Duration Damage: 150 / 273 / 432 / 627
Cooldown: 20 / 15 / 10 / 5
Mana Cost: 75 / 85 / 95 / 105

This will be the skill which the build will focus on, combining this skill with Urn of Shadows will deal a lot of damage. First use Battle Hunger then use Urn of Shadows in the same enemy hero you used Battle Hunger, the damage over time incresses by the total of 150, isn’t a lot of damage by itself, but combining those two, you will deal a total of 777 damage on a single enemy hero. Great way to kill a enemy hero after a team fight, or a great way to nuke, and to get a kill!

This skill requires a lot of mana, has a very low cooldown of 5seconds on 4th level, thats why you need to get arcane boots, will give you mana, and when you activate arcane boots, you will restore 135 of mana to you and all allies within 600AoE.

Skills: Counter Helix

Counter Helix

When attacked, Axe performs a helix counter attack, dealing damage to all nearby enemies.

Radius: 275
Chance to Helix: 17%
Damage: 100 / 130 / 160 / 190
Cooldown: 0.65 / 0.6 / 0.55 / 0.5

It’s important to say: Counter Helix triggers from the beginning of an attack targeting Axe, not when the attack hits.

This is the primary damage skill of Axe, can do a lot of damage in matter of seconds, killing a lot of creeps, and enemy heroes, but can also be barely activated sometimes, this is why use Berseker’s Call is so important to this skill, you can get a lot of creeps and heroes to turn themselves to attack you, will significantly increases your chance to use this skill, so basically, more enemies attacking you, more chances of this skill activate.

Skills: Culling Blade

Culling Blade

Axe spots weakness and strikes, dealing moderate damage but instantly killing an enemy unit with low health. WHen a enemy is killed in this way, Axe and nearby allied units gain bonus moviment speed.

Damage: 150 / 250 / 300
Kill Threshold: 300 / 450 / 625
Range: 150
Bonus Movement Speed: 25%
Movement Speed Radius: 600
Movement Speed Duration: 6
Cooldown: 75 / 65 / 55 (6*)
Mana Cost: 120 / 160 / 200

Well, what can i say? this skill is totaly awesome, thats why you will make Aghanins Scepter for you Axe, you will kill hero after hero with this.

Items

I start with Urn of Shadows recipe and 2x Gauntlets of Strenght and a Iron Branch
and i finish ASAP the Urn of Shadows , Why? Mana Regeneration, and that awersome activation witch will help us get a lot of kills combining with Battle Hunger will deal a lot of damage, but remember, always stay close to dying enemy heroes to collect charges for Urn of Shadows, and remember, you dont always need to use a charge of Urn of Shadows to do damage, you can also heal youself or a allied hero in case of need.
Important to say that at a certain point you can sell Urn of Shadows to start or finish you Extension or Luxury Items.

After you finished Urn of Shadows you will start immediately with Arcane Boots , the Replenish Mana will help you and your teammates a lot, you may ask, why not Soul Ring and Tranquil Boots ? Axe is a very Fighter Hero, and when you use Tranquil Boots , it’s healing stop, so you will use Soul Ring to trade 150 of Health to 150 of Mana, then you will spend 25 of mana to start to heal that 150 of health, it’s a great strategy, but axe need to be in the m > Soul Ring and Tranquil Boots .
And of course, Vanguard you probably wanna to get hitted every time, by creeps and enemy hereos to activate Counter Helix , so it’s a perfect combination Vanguard will prov > Heart of Tarrasque or have a slot for another Situational Item.

Aghanim’s Scepter is a great choice to make, will make you Culling Blade get a extremely cooldown reduction, plus Health, Mana, plus +10 in all attributes.
After making Aghanim’s Scepter you can start to build you Heart of Tarrasque buying Vitality Booster .
With Blink Dagger you can iniciate a team fight to secure your team a great advantage, use Berserker’s Call to lock up the heroes and start to damaging all fo them with Counter Helix , kill low health enemy heroes with Culling Blade and get the others with Battle Hunger and Urn of Shadows . And if you dont want to make Dagger you can buy a Reaver to accelerate you Heart of Tarrasque

Heart of Tarrasque will incresses Axe’s Health in a extremely scale, and will give him a badadd health regeneration after a fight, provide him a great durabilty.
Radiance will give more AoE damage, 45 of magical damage/second will both combine with Battle Hunger and Counter Helix .

Blade Mail Good against carriers, if that Phantom Assassin or Drow Ranger is giving you trouble, give trouble to them as well.
Black King Bar will give you damage and strenght, and will protect you agains disablers.
Pipe of Insight , Health Regeneration, magical damage reduction and when active gives you and closed allies a magical barrier than shield you guys up to 400 magical damage.
Shiva’s Guard will give you armor and int, but the best think in it is the passive aura you have, reducing nearby enemy units attack speed can be helpfull, and when activated Shiva’s Guard will release a wave that deals 200 of damage and slow their moviment speed by 40% 4s duration.

Playing as Axe with this build

Be super hiper agressive, this is only way axe can be effective, when a wave comes and you eneme heroes are melee, be the first to get to this wave and kill all creeps with Counter Helix , you can use Berseker’s Call to lock up the heroes too, damaging then, and you can secure kills with Battle Hunger + Urn of Shadows , it’s very effective.

You will start to make your Vanguard , it will help you with health and health regeneration and damage block, witch will make you kill hundred’s of creeps withouth even taking damage. And to tank heroes and creeps with Berseker’s Call.
Aghanim’s Scepter you make you more killer them ever, a 6seconds cooldown in you ultimate, and you can kill hero after hero in a matter of seconds, securing gold to make more expensive and better itens.
Blink Dagger will help you to iniciate all team fight’s and chase enemy heroes.

If you succeed you can finish the game with 2xHeart of Tarrask you can change your Arcane Boots to Boots of Travel , Aghanim’s Scepter , Blink Dagger and 2 Situational Items depending on the enemy heroes, remember that if your enemy team is winning, get one situational item to help you and your team to counter them and get the game back to your hands.

General Discussion9th pick heroes for mid

What are the “safe” 9th heroes picks for mid?

I currently have:

1. Lina
2. TA
3. SF
4. Kunkka
5. Lesh
6. Ember
7. Storm
8. Meepo
9. Razor

I think they can do well vs pretty much any matchup (Ember doesn’t, but he can rotate well to comeback).

if u pick mid on 9th you are garbage
u will lose mid anyway
pick it on 5th and let your off and safe have better matchups.
u can play mind games too with picking heroes like lesh , razor enemy probably assume you picked offlane lesh, razor
cause they are garbage too.

it doesnt matter you can just go jungle anyway

^I think if I pick Visage, and enemy picks Brood then it’s pretty much gg if we have no good hero to lane against her, so it doesn’t work this way. Maybe in your bracket team coordination could handle it, but not in 4k.

pick it on 5th and let your off and safe have better matchups.

Just ignore Kowareta. Dota 2 mid heroes 2014 dodge For sure when I have in hero pool a lot of cheese heroes like Brood, Meepo, Visage I will give my pick to carry+offlane. 9th pick Meepo/Brood is still very strong. I can only see picking mid earlier when I spam SF, Lina, Lesh every game, but no with my hero pool.

9th pick Meepo/Brood is still very strong.

I often pick mid last to prevent my hero getting countered by enemy team, but I never know about this.
What is the reason for this? Why I should pick it at 5th turn.

if we assume enemy as skilled as u, i think either u last pick mid and carry the game, or ur sidelanes winning the game for u.
if u are more skilled than enemy, u can even first pick your hero and win the game like smurfs, so this discussion is pointless from start.

^It’s not hard to win vs 1 counter, but it’s way harder to do it vs 3 counters. I don’t know what you don’t understand. I 9th pick Meepo – enemy either picks Lina/MK/SF/Shaker/OD mid (most of the time). All I need to do is not feed the lane, and in team fights jump them with hex or jump as last one. Game is ez. If I pick it as 5th – I will get shaker/pango + strong mid + probably one more good hero. For Brood if I see they lack disables, I can pick it as 9th pick (even vs LCs, Kunkkas etc.). I will just afk jungle, then kill them, or skill her passive (vs LC). I would also not risk picking before my carry, even when we both picks, I won’t pick before him. I had many games when I picked Meepo/Brood, and my carry followed with AM/Alch or other hero that heavily depends on jungle/farming. I don’t trust my allies.

it depends on your hero pool for sure, u cant pick storm , meepo , brood on 5th! after 3 enemy cores countering you u cant expect carrying game with these heroes (plz dont make obvious retarded arguements!) , but if u pick sth like OD, Lina , DP, . either u forced them pick mid on 6th-7th and 2 other cores can counter it , or your both cores have knowledge of enemy picks, and they are not!
and u can do your midlaner job pretty well 🙂

Dota 2 combo axew

Mars has been here for more than a week now and the hero has brought a few new things to the beautiful game of Dota 2. We already saw how a lot of skills interact with Mars’ ultimate, Arena of Blood. All of them were from the point of view of opponents. What’s not yet completely explored is how well Mars combos with certain heroes as allies. Here, we take a look at some of the best combos Spear of Mars and Arena of Blood have to offer with some of the existing skills in the game!

1) Combining Arena of Blood with Dark Willow’s Terrorize

This is probably the best combo that I’ve come across till now. Mars engulfs enemies in the Arena of Blood and Dark Willow forces them to retreat in the direction of their fountain. Now with the arena being circular in shape, any enemy under the effects of Terrorize is bound to run into the arena walls over and over and keep taking 250 damage (at level 3 of the skill). At the same time, they can be attacked by enemies to deal damage on top of that without being able to do anything. Two or more enemies caught in this combo is a sure fire way to guarantee a team fight win.

2) Using Nature’s Prophet’s Sprout, Clockwerk’s Cogs or Tusk’s Ice Shards to land the Spear of Mars stun

Spear of Mars can stun an opposition hero if it skewers the hero into a tree, cliff or building. But that isn’t all of it, there are some skills that also activate the stun from the Spear of Mars.

The most obvious one is NP’s Sprout, which surrounds a hero with trees. It is an easy way to ensure when there is good co-ordination between Mars and Furion. This can also turn out to be a negative point for NP, however. If ever he is playing against Mars and attempts to teleport out from between his own trees, the first son of heaven can easily land a stun on him and cancel the teleport.

Clockwerk’s Cogs are something you wound’t expect to proc the stun, but they do. For any hero stuck in the Cogs, the stun from the spear guarantees additional lockdown.

With Tusk’s Shards, it isn’t as straight forward. The spear cannot be aimed at the hero in any direction. When the shards land, they form a semi-circle. So Mars baseically has 180 degreesto aim from so as to land the stun. The good thing about all these stuns is even if the structure to which the hero is stunned vanishes, the stun effect stays.

Popular to contrary belief, the stun does not activate on a Fissure. It also does not proc when thrown with a Tombstone in the background.

3) Combing with Riki (Tricks of the Trade) and Monkey King’s (Wukong’s Command) ultimates to keep opponents in the skill radius

An easy way to get out of Riki or Monkey King’s ultimate is to walk out of it or even better, use a Force Staff. Arena of Blood prevents that as even with a Force Staff, an opponent cannot get out. Additionally as the skills deal damage, using a Blink Dagger to get out is out of the question. Timed correctly, these combos have the potential to do a lot of damage.

So there you have it, quite a few good combos to go with Mars’ skills. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg. I’m sure there are lot of combos yet to be discovered, lurking in the dark. If you have a good combo that we can mention, let us know in the comments!

The Dota 2 Pro scene is forever a changing landscape and now that the post-TI lineup changes have concluded, and the teams have had their chance to play in a full Major and the Qualifier for another, it is time to speculate on which teams could be the top of the new season.

10. TNC Predator

TNC Predator tied with PSG. LGD at the Kuala Lumpur Major, and finished in 2nd place for the Southeast Asia Qualifier for Chongqing behind Fnatic. Their Chongqing Qualifier performance, however, could’ve been negatively impacted by a Valve mandated banning of Kuku from the tournament and losing a Captain is no minor inconvenience. Clearly they have the skill and teamwork to Qualify for the Major, but as their down a Captain in Kuku it will be hard to judge their true potential regardless of their Chongqing standings – but a full powered TNC Predator could be a force.

Playing for TNC Predator:

9. NIP

Ninjas in Pyjamas, can never get over that name, finished 4th place in the Kuala Lumpur Major and holds the 4th most DPC points for this year. The team is only 3 months old and already had a high standing in a Major – clearly the talent is present, but will they have the teamwork to last the entire year?

8. VG

VG tied with Fnatic at the Kuala Lumpur Major and had a solid showing in last year’s Circuit. The team has had a 3 player roster change of picking up Yang, Fade, and Dy dropping eLeVeN, LaNm, and Fenrir. VG is set to play in DPL Season 6 and if their performance picks up then they could be a promising team to follow into the year.

7. Forward Gaming

Time to get into the grey areas, Forward have finished 2nd place in two Major Qualifiers but have overcome their problems with EG, losing 0-2 in Kuala Qualifier and 1-2 in the Kuala Major only to turn around with a 2-0 in the Chongqing Qualifier. This rising team shows great potential for the upcoming season and the Chongqing Major will be a testing ground for them to hopefully triumph upon.

6. Fnatic

The 4th place TI finishers have changed their roster and still finished 2nd in the PVP Esports Championship, ahead of PSG. LGD but losing 2-3 to Secret. Clearly the potential of this team can be seen.

5. EG

3rd place Kuala Lumpur finishers and 3rd place 2018-2019 DPC standing team EG shows no roster changes and no chance of slowing down.

4. Liquid

Team Liquid proved they still have what it takes during the Chongqing Major Qualifiers by completely clowning around in style and still making 2nd. These previous TI winners show they still got it and half of Dota is actually enjoying the game and this team surely does.

Same as ever, Liquid’s players are:

3. PSG. LGD

The 2nd place team out of TI, PSG. LGD showed great consistency last year. This team roster has been together since January 2018 and their 3rd place DPC ranking last year feels very earned, making up for their Kuala Lumpur performance. For all we know PSG. LGD will have their shot at TI again this year.

The players on PSG. LGD are:

2. Secret

Secret finished in 4th place for the DPC rankings last year and suffered during the TI event. They have since dropped Ace and Fata for Nisha and Zai and finished 2nd place in the Kuala Lumpur Major. Their early strength for the new Circuit has been further shown in the Chongqing Major finishing 1st in their Qualifier over Liquid – however, Liquid may have not been trying as hard as expected.

Secret’s roster consists of:

1. Virtus Pro

VP have been a powerhouse since last year’s circuit and continue to show a strong dominance early in 2019. VP are currently leading the DPC charts for this year which shows major stability for this team as they also finished last year with the highest DPC. VP took 1st place in the Kuala Lumpur Major, continuing their trend of early Major dominance. With the stability this team shows maybe this year will be their Aegis.

New Season New Teams

The Dota 2 Pro scene is forever a changing landscape and now that the post-TI lineup changes have concluded, and the teams have had their chance to play in a full Major and the Qualifier for another, it is time to speculate on which teams could be the top of the new season.

10. TNC Predator

Console Commands

Console Commands are options accessible via the Developer Console. The dev console allows the user to create an advanced configuration of game settings, using options not listed within the game’s settings menu.

Commands that are listed as cheats will not work within the normal game. Cheat commands will only work in custom lobbies with cheats enabled. For a list of cheats, see here.

Contents

How to use Console Commands [ edit ]

Commands may be typed directly in the developer console to activate the setting, however it is recommended to create an autoexec. cfg file. The file will automatically run the listed commands when a match starts so they will not have to be manually typed every time.

Steps to create an autoexec. cfg file:

  1. Create a text editable file using Notepad or similar software
  2. Type in the desired commands per line, including the desired values for variables
  3. Save as autoexec. cfg and make sure it is. cfg and not a. Dota 2 alt pathing txt file or any other file extension
  4. Place the file in the \cfg folder found in your install directory, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\game\dota\cfg

Proper Syntax [ edit ]

When writing a console command, it will normally consist of “blocks” separated by spaces.

Here is an example of a command with each block highlighted for visibility. Block 1 = blue , block 2 = red , and block 3 = green .

bind q “dota_ability_execute 0”

Any command with a third block must encase that block within quotation marks. Placing quotation marks around other blocks may cause errors in which the command will not work.
Code containing only two blocks does not require any quotations.

For an advanced command using incrementvar the proper syntax is as follows:

bind c “incrementvar dota_player_units_auto_attack_mode 1 2 1”

The three numbers are min, max, and delta. Dota 2 alt pathing In the example 1 2 1 the minimum value is 1, the maximum is 2, and the increment is 1. This effectively acts as a toggle, increasing the value by 1 to switch between 1 and 2.
If the values were 0 2 1 instead, it would toggle between three states with each press. Starting at 0, then increasing to 1, then 2, and then looping back to 0.
If the delta was set to 2 instead, 0 2 2 , it would switch from 0 to 2 with each press because the delta would increase 0 by 2 to equal 2.

Adding // in front of a line of code will make the autoexec. cfg ignore that line for input. This allows you to write notes without causing errors.

// Auto attack toggle
bind c “incrementvar dota_player_units_auto_attack_mode 1 2 1”

How to watch Dota 2’s The International, the biggest esports event of the year

Nearly $25 million is on the line at this year’s tournament.

Even though Fortnite streams and Overwatch leagues seem to be grabbing all the headlines these days, the great grandparent of modern esports competitions, The International, is still the biggest esports event of the year. Since 2011, the world’s biggest Dota 2 tournament has drawn huge audiences. One of the biggest reasons: It has, by far, the biggest prize pool of any esports tournament, currently sitting at roughly $24.5 million — and that sum is likely to go up before the main event begins Monday, Aug. 20.

The International starts with a prize pool of $1.6 million, but Valve offers a Battle Pass for $10 to all players that lets them earn rewards by playing while the competition is going on. Players can earn things like new character skins, new in-game announcer voices, item skins and more. Twenty-five percent of the cost of each Battle Pass is then added to the prize pool over the course of the event. As it stands now, the winning team would take home over $10 million.

The International has already gone through several early rounds, but next week we move into the main event, which runs from August 20 to Friday, August 25.

Fortnite didn’t invent the battle pass, after all.

What is Dota 2?

For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Dota 2 is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game where two teams of five players square off on a large map, each with a home base (called an Ancient). The two teams go to battle to try to ultimately destroy the other team’s Ancient and win the game.

Though it might sound easy, it’s an extremely complex game that’s difficult to learn and extremely hard to master. There are more than 100 heroes to choose from, each with a suite of unique special abilities. As you play, you earn gold you can use to buy items over the course of the game that will add to your stats and abilities. Knowing which items to buy and combine to maximize your hero’s powers takes time to learn, and that’s before you even talk about the strategy of controlling battle lanes, how to engage in battles with your specific hero against different heroes and how to work with a team to control the playing field and finally destroy your opponents’ Ancient.

With all that said, when a team knows what it’s doing, a match can turn on a dime making a tournament between pro teams especially exciting. And since The International is the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year, there’s a good chance you’ll be watching the best of the best.

How to watch the International

There are a few different ways to get in on the action. You can watch live through Steam Broadcasting, get on Twitch (no login required) or go to a place near where you live that hosts Pubstomp events. But the best way to watch, especially if you already play the game, is to watch from within the Dota 2 client itself.

By watching from within the game, you can change cameras at will, follow specific players if you have favorites, and you can listen to a multicast in English, Chinese or Russian that offers up highlights of matches as they’re being played.

Or, if you happen to be lucky enough to find yourself in the possession of a ticket to the in-person event, The International will be held at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. 2014 dota 2 international highlights for brown

Every game starts off slowly, but once it gets going it can get crazy.
