Today we are announcing the Dota 2 Reborn Beta, which brings with it a new interface, new engine and Custom Games. Everything in the dashboard has been completely redesigned utilizing a new UI framework, and the engine that powers the game has been fully replaced. On today’s update page we will be giving you a preview of the new interface. Early next week we’ll be talking about Custom Games, and later that week we’ll conclude with various details about the new engine and launch the open beta. Throughout the beta we’ll be releasing frequent updates in order to fix bugs and make changes based on the feedback you provide. As you browse around in the new client, you’ll notice a few things that aren’t fully functional yet. Additionally, our focus has been on the dashboard so you’ll find the in-game HUD currently looks the same.

We want you to help us during the beta with your suggestions and bug reports. Our intention is to keep gameplay and heroes looking and feeling the same, so if you find anything unexpected please let us know. We’ll be bringing the update out of beta some time after The International to ensure we have enough time to respond to all of your feedback.

The Collector’s Cache

Available for purchase exclusively to Compendium owners, the International 2015 Collector’s Cache costs $1.99 and gives you another chance to contribute to The International prize pool as you claim 11 community-created, Mythical sets. The Cache also has a 1 in 250 chance to contain the Immortal Faceless Rex courier. The Collector’s Cache will only be sold until the end of The International.

Opening a Collector’s Cache also gives you several ways to increase your Compendium level. The first time you open a Cache will earn you 2 levels, when you open 5 Caches you’ll earn 5 levels, and you’ll earn 11 levels when you open 11 Caches. There’s also a chance that a Cache will contain an item that grants 11 Compendium levels. Additionally, each set from the Collector’s Cache can be recycled for two levels.

These sets won’t be sold elsewhere, and won’t be available on the market or for trade, though they can each be gifted once. The Faceless Rex courier, however, is fully tradable and marketable.

New Compendium Rewards & Spectator Effigies

Immortal Treasure II has been released, bringing exclusive new items to Compendium owners. The Immortal Treasure II contains items for Anti-Mage, Disruptor, Faceless Void, Leshrac, Shadow Fiend, Sven, and Tinker. Increase your Compendium level to earn more treasures and complete the set.

Compendium owners will also receive the Wyvern Hatchling courier. You can give it a new look by increasing your Compendium level, with the Fire Style unlocking at Compendium Level 25, and the Gold Style unlocking at Level 200.

Meanwhile, you may have noticed that we’ve rolled out a special drop system for The International matches, including the Qualifiers. Major events in a match where we would have previously dropped a normal item will now drop an effigy featuring the triumphant hero, or a random team member in the case of a group accomplishment. The effigies will be built from a random material (including the rare Solid Gold material), and will come ready to be posed using the preset hero and equipped items the player was using at the time.

Live spectators will also have a chance to earn coins, coin charms, and Compendium points toward levels. Additionally, every Compendium owner will have a chance to receive an effigy celebrating the victorious team whenever a live match ends, even if they weren’t watching. The higher your Compendium Level, the higher your chance to receive one of these effigies.

The International Qualifiers

The International Qualifiers begin next week. Be sure to catch all the action as the America and China qualifiers begin on Monday the 25th. The America qualifiers will start at 17:00 GMT, with the China qualifier beginning at 02:00 GMT.

Then, tune in on Friday the 29th for the Europe and Southeast Asia qualifiers. The Europe qualifier gets going at 10:00 GMT, while the Southeast Asia qualifier commences at 02:00 GMT.

Head to The International invites site to see which teams are competing in each qualifier, then make your predictions in your Compendium.

The winners of each qualifier will be given a direct invite to The International, while each of the second place teams will battle it out for the final two invites.

Dota 2 Short Film Contest

Aspiring filmmakers, the time has come. We’re throwing the doors open on the Dota 2 Short Film Contest.

Filmmakers will have until the morning of July 13th, 2015 to submit their entries to the contest. The winning films will be featured as part of The International broadcast, and each winner will earn $20,000. Entries must be less than one minute long, so be sure to make every second count. Compendium Level Up

Today’s update brings new ways to earn Compendium Coins and Levels.

The Ten Hero Challenge returns from last year, and gives all Compendium owners the chance to earn additional Compendium Levels by winning matchmaking games with a selection of heroes. The Ten Hero Challenge can be completed up to three times with a different selection of heroes for a total of 450 points (4.5 Levels).

We’ve also brought back Item Recycling. Whenever you recycle any 10 items, you’ll earn 25 points toward a Compendium Level as well as a Charm of the Crucible Jewel II. There are also three Compendium Achievements for Charms to help you earn more Compendium Points. If you have extra TI5 Compendium Immortals, you can consume them to gain two Compendium Levels by right-clicking on them in your Armory.

All Compendium owners will now have an additional slot for hero-specific challenges in their list of in-game challenges, which will award both Compendium Coins and points toward Compendium Levels when completed.

Now that Team invites are out, don’t forget to vote for your favorite players to participate in this year’s All-Stars event. Completing this task will grant you 50 Compendium Points.

IceFrog is the lead developer for both Dota 2 and the original Defense of the Ancients. To date, he has remained pseudonymous, and other than revealing that he was 25 years old in early 2009, characteristics such as his physical description and real name are unknown. Various professional players and casters profess to have met IceFrog in person, but public details about these encounters are scarce out of respect for his privacy. Purge remarked that he had met him before, but was unaware he was IceFrog; 2GD mentioned that IceFrog spoke quickly during their meeting. IceFrog is known to solicit balancing suggestions from professional players prior to a patch, though this is usually done over the internet.

According to his former co-developer Neichus, IceFrog had already had formal programming training by the time he became the curator of Defense of the Ancients.

Defense of the Ancients [ edit ]

IceFrog officially began his involvement with Defense of the Ancients in 2005, when he was recruited by Guinsoo–the mod’s lead developer at the time–to assist with programming. Later that year, Guinsoo left the project and passed the lead developer position to Neichus, who continued to develop with IceFrog. Neichus’ departure a short time later left IceFrog as the sole designer for the map. Since then, IceFrog has ushered in an era of competitive play by carefully balancing and renovating the game.

It is rumored that at some point, IceFrog approached Blizzard Entertainment about the possibility of developing DotA as a standalone game, but the company was uninterested and asked him to port the mod to their upcoming StarCraft 2 map editor for free instead.

In 2009, a dispute arose between IceFrog and Pendragon, the maintainer of the de facto community hub DotA-Allstars. com. Pendragon, who had recently been hired by League of Legends developer Riot Games, was charged with using the site to promote his company’s upcoming product, while IceFrog was accused of developing the game Heroes of Newerth with S2 Games. DotA-Allstars. com was taken offline (along with all of its contents), and IceFrog and the rest of the community were forced to relocate to the newly-created PlayDotA. com.

Also in 2009, IceFrog was contacted by Valve, who had become interested in Defense of the Ancients and its future. After receiving a tour of their offices, IceFrog was hired and began work on Dota 2.

Abdul Ismail [ edit ]

A persisting rumor is that IceFrog’s real name is “Abdul Ismail”. In late 2010, an anonymous person posted a defamatory article called “The Truth About IceFrog: Behind the Bullshit”, which has been termed “false” (unofficially) and “fake” by Valve representatives. A common theory is that it is pure libel, written by Pendragon after his falling out with IceFrog. One of IceFrog’s posts on PlayDota, which appeared before this incident, implies that IceFrog had no direct involvement with S2 Games.

However, the name supposedly reappeared in the Dota section of Valve’s project management and bugtracking software, and was included in the Free to Play credits. It is unknown if it belongs to IceFrog or simply another Valve employee.

In May 2017, a California court was discussing the ownership of Dota and they mentioned the name of IceFrog (Abdul Ismail), so it was confirmed by the California District court. Additionally, they make reference to Icefrog working with and being employed by S2 Games. [3]

No chance. It’s simply too inactive and has too little traffic. There are not enough people to maintain it. Look at the german wiki for reference. It was 4th most “active” wiki, but its removal is already planned as well, because it’s simply not active enough.

The Worst of the Heroes in Dota 2.

Most heroes can be evil in their own ways, but this thread is about heroes whose evil deeds truly stand out from most other heroes: heroes whose actions clearly cause chaos, and may or may not have influenced the war. You can make your own list or add to this one.

Let’s explore my list, shall we?

1. Chaos Knight: he basically is sent to hunt down and kill Ezalor (Keeper of the Light). Apparently, I didn’t know it was completely reasonable to slay millions of innocent people just to slay a demigod.

2. Ezalor, the Keeper of the Light: so he escapes the fundamental plane and causes chaos throughout the world, and now all he does is to creep on girls. He’s Creeper of the Light, and he’s a huge dick for abandoning his duties and causing Chaos Knight to slay millions of innocents while Ezalor pervs on girls – even Spectre. By the way, when he made the sun, he is mostly responsible for the mass-genocide of Balanar’s (Night Stalker’s) people.

3. Kaldr, the Ancient Apparition: he is pretty much the Albert Wesker of Dota 2. You don’t see him often, and most heroes don’t think he’s a big deal, but he has an ego 10 times the size of Pudge and his reason of fighting is to create a new world order where he is the almighty god. Don’t believe me? Read his responses.

4. Jah’rakal, the Troll Warlord: he is an IRL version of an internet troll. Gets butthurt that his peers abused him and he decided to go on a complete rampage, and now he fucks people up just because. “I kill my enemies first, my allies next.”

5. Pugna, the Oblivion: apparently he acts like a huge bitch during his childhood because he doesn’t get to be spoiled like the typical rich white girl in a high school, so he goes to spree kill his entire town, and now he bans. er, banishes people whenever he wants.

6. Chen, the Holy Knight: he is a homage to extremists of any religion. Anyone who does not follow Chen’s religion, Chen will smite them. Painfully.

7. Aiushtha, the Enchantress: similar to Chen, she is an extreme hippie. Anyone who does not follow Aiushtha’s way, she will enchant them to death.

8. Ostarion, the Skeleton King: similar to a controlling emperor, Ostarion the Skeleton King wishes to conquer the land to build up his empire. Dissimilar to a controlling emperor, Ostarion converts those he kills into slaves. Yeah. Kills people, then makes them his slaves.

9. Rotund’jere, the Necrolyte: there isn’t much to say about him, he basically starts as a corrupt priest who wants noble’s assets, then after catching the pox, he travels the world to infect the global population.

10. Shadow Demon: he pretty much puts the “tan” in Satan. Starts as an evil genie who grants wishes to people, Shadow Demon maipulates and corrupts them into creating an evil satanic cult to try to convert the entire world to worship the Satan. Luckily he gets bitch-slapped by Lucifer (Doom) and Nevermore (Shadow Fiend), but he will keep making the cult to try to take over the world. over and over and over again.

Wohooo tak terasa sudah dua tahun berlalu sejak Dota 2 Asia Championship atau DAC season pertama tahun 2015 lalu, sekarang kita sudah ditahun 2017 dan kedatangan kembali DAC 2017.

After recently covering too many professional Top ‘this’ and Top ‘that’ in Dota 2, we thought about writing for the most beloved hero of all. Dota 2 players around the world, even though the best or the worst have at least tried a hook or two with the butcher. Yes, Pudge is the most played hero in Dota 2 and we are here to tell you the top 5 Pudge players you should watch next time you want to learn how to play Pudge.

Black^
First stop is Black^. Currently playing for mousesports, Black^ is a guy that can play with almost any hero. And that is why Pudge is no stranger to him as well. No matter how important the match, if the team wants a roaming nuke then Pudge is nothing but heaven for Black. Being able to dominate early game, Black’s Pudge allows his team to just snowball like crazy. His Hook percentage is pretty insane as well allowing him to position himself for the best possible outcome. Black has an astonishing 62% winrate with Pudge. Even though we don’t see Pudge very often but this is a pocket strat that can be of use anytime. Here’s just a glimpse of what devastation Black^ can bring with his Pudge.

FoREv
Players don’t know much about FoRev but he definitely is one of the best Pudge players out there. With amazing skills and predictions, FoRev is just a nightmare when it comes to his Pudge. FoRev is a key player in Team MVP and we want him to stay that way, so that he can own. FoReV sits with the highest win rate for Pudge at an astounding 75%. We probably won’t see much of his Pudge in competitive games, but who cares? As long as we see Pudge owning the crap out of the enemy team we are happy with it. FoRev does absolutely what we want, ANNIHILATION.

w33haa
You guys mostly know him for his insane Meepo, but trust me; w33haa is absolutely not limited to that uglier version of Tyrion Lannister. The Europe’s best Dota 2 player, well in terms of leader boards is amazing when it comes to hooking enemies from where they didn’t even know. It’s been quite some time w33haa has played Pudge but, whenever he does there is nothing more fun to watch. w33haa has a 60% win rate with the old man and his Pudge is as scary as his Meepo. Here’s a look;

The Magical hexOr
Back in the days of DotA, this guy was probably the best Pudge player, showing off his skills with the name of hOlyhexOr. There is almost no one who has ever dreamt of playing a good Pudge and hasn’t watched hexOr’s insane plays with Pudge. Even though there are tons of wannabe Pudge players out there, no one is even close to the skills that hexOr has with this hero.

Dendi
Well, who doesn’t know Dendimon for his Pudge skills? Dendi was the reason people actually thought of picking Pudge in professional matches. Being able to create strategies around the hero, Dendi is the most fearsome Pudge player out there. The historical Pudge and Chen combo that was introduced for the first time in Dota 2 history created a mark of what wonders Dendi can make with the hero. Dendi currently has a 62% winrate with the hero, but who cares for numbers when it’s Dendi’s Pudge.
