How DotA 2’s UI Made the Learning Curve Steeper

A critique of the DotA 2 UI prior to the 7.00 update

The 7.00 update has made user interface of DotA 2 (Defense of the Ancients 2) feel like that of LoL (League of Legends), a similar MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game. Before major changes were made, DotA 2 had a steep learning curve even for people who had played LoL.

Both DotA 2 and LoL are MOBA games that has two teams composed usually of 5 players. The goal of each team is to destroy the central structure ( Nexus for LoL, Ancient for DotA 2) found in the opposing team’s base. Each player picks a hero or champion that has their own unique skills. Players kill creeps or minions, and anyone from the opposing team, to earn gold and buy items to get stronger.

Back in 2015, I started playing a MOBA game, DotA 2, after having played for four years a similar game, LoL. Before installing the game, my DotA-playing friend warned me that LoL players tend to quit playing DotA 2 on their first try because of the learning curve.

I ignored that warning, thinking that being gone through with LoL won’t make learning DotA 2 that hard and went on to installing DotA 2 and here is my story of how I found the learning curve to be steep.

When I started my first bot game in DotA 2 with my friend, my friend told me to pick “Traxex” because she was most newbies’ favorite pick. After connecting to the game, it was time to pick my hero (who I will play as) and I panicked at how to find that particular hero.

Where is my hero?

What I saw on my screen were cards and Abaddon was the first one. Intuition told me that pressing the arrow keys lets you see navigate through the heroes. I started pressing the right arrow key while thinking, “Okay, I could find Traxex if I keep pressing but the heroes are arranged alphabetically and ‘T’ is a long way from ‘A.’”

Then, I saw on the on the bottom right corner an instruction saying that I could press “Ctrl” to switch to a grid view. Pressing “Ctrl” showed all the heroes in icons classified to Strength, Agility, and Intelligence. The view looked similar to that of LoL but two things: (1) Hovering over an icon does not show the what my hero could do, hovering on the hero icon only shows the hero name; and, (2) The heroes were not arranged alphabetically.

I switched back to card view and asked my friend how in the world do I find Traxex. He sa >Treant Protector. I sa >Traxex and my friend told me that there’s a search box on the top right corner. It was almost unnoticeable given that it was a thin bar filled with a lighter shade of gray and a light outline. I still couldn’t find Traxex because it turned out that Traxex is just the first name of Drow Ranger.

Who is that on the mini map?

As I entered the game, I noticed that there is no loading screen displaying the heroes that of both my team and the enemy team before entering the battle. I d >how will I know if it’s an ally or an enemy?

Pressing “Alt” shows icons in different colors. I thought that I will have to remember the color of each ally and enemy for every game. Additionally, I do not know which hero each color refers to unless I press tab and look at the scoreboard. Though, it was a good thing that I could change the settings of the icons in the map but I had continued through that bot game remembering the color of each hero and whether that hero is an ally or an enemy.

Apart from the color of the outline, I had to squint and look at each hero icon for one second to recognize who the hero was. In LoL, it is cropped from the splash art of champions (or heroes in DotA 2 terms). It is used both in champion selection and in the mini map so you see the same picture for each champion. DotA 2, on the other hand, has a different set of hero icons for hero selection and the mini map. This gives the player more things to remember and with more things to remember, more work to learn the game.

I forgot to look at my level.

Part of most games is to level up. In DotA 2 and LoL, you level up to add points to your abilities to get stronger. A newbie in LoL would click the up arrow to level up the ability. In the case for DotA 2, it is different. A newbie would have to click on the “LEVEL UP +1” button and click on an ability again for that ability to gain one point. That’s one extra step to level up compared to LoL. It would be hard to learn the ultimate of the hero when you just hit level 6 while still in a team clash.

Of course, you can hold “Ctrl” and press the key of the ability to add a point to it just like that in LoL. The catch is, sometimes I do not notice that I have reached level 6 and could have learned my ultimate. In LoL, you know that you can add a point to your ultimate ability when you see a fourth arrow. DotA 2, on the other hand, faintly highlights the tiny square below the abilities that you could level up. If you didn’t take note of your level or you didn’t look closely at the boxes, you might not have noticed that you could add a point to your ultimate.

TLDR: Information overload

You know that people say, “who reads the manual?” Both LoL and DotA 2 show the description and details of the hero abilities when you hover over them. For simple abilities, especially passive ones, they are short and easy to read. However, some abilities may have a longer narrative jam-packed with numbers. That’s not a big problem when you try out the hero in a bot game first but what if, you want to spice up your gaming experience by locking in to a random hero? You wouldn’t want to spend your time reading because the battle doesn’t wait.

What made LoL champions easier to learn than DotA 2 heroes was that LoL had what I call “spell holograms.” You could visually see the area of effect of the spell or skill just by hovering over the ability. DotA 2 didn’t have the same feature before.

Additionally, you can see on the mini map the range of the ability for abilities with ranges beyond the size of the screen. This feature isn’t present in DotA 2 however. You would have to have the camera looking at your target while hovering over the ability to see if it is in range to be cast on the target.

Where do I farm?

Just like in LoL, DotA 2 also has neutral creep camps (monters that you can kill for gold). In LoL, I know where to go when I want to farm some gold by killing neutral monsters found in the map. However, in DotA 2, I started by clicking my way around the map looking for a camp. At first, I couldn’t see where the camps were by looking at the mini map until realizing that camps were represented in tiny triangles that were barely noticeable.

Make it easy for the users to obtain information. They want to spend their time playing the game instead of figuring out how to play it.

DotA 2 has other features different from that of LoL but those are on the level of gaming experience that gives DotA 2 a distinct feel from LoL. These are my comments of the old DotA 2 on the level of the user interface. Of course there is nothing wrong with letting the user learn how to play a game. Learning the game may actually be part of a game experience and gamers eventually learn the UI after a few games.

However, coming from the perspective of user experience, not making it easy for the user to learn the UI discourages the user from using the application, which could explain why some LoL players do not like DotA 2.

Thank you for reading! Feel free to share your thoughts about the UI of DotA 2. If you enjoyed this article, hit the heart below!

Rylai Crestfall is a human mage in the Alliance army, originally acting as the guardian of Archmage Overwatch tower during the campaign in Ashran in alternate Draenor. There, she defended the Overwatch and Tremblade’s Vanguard from attack, using her Frost magic to hurl bolts of ice down upon invaders in either base. Rylai later served onboard the Skyguard gunship that took part in the battle for the Seething Shore against the Horde, guarding against enemy boarders.

Abilities

A powerful opponent, Rylai will bombard enemies within a substantial range of her tower, making assaulting these zones much harder without first defeating her. She can be reached through climbing the tower itself, although defeating her will not be an easy task. Succeeding will provide special rewards, and make inhabiting the surrounding area far easier.

In the current build, Rylai’s bombardment is fairly powerful, and can kill full health cloth classes in just a few hits. She attacks every few seconds, and switches targets frequently, although she does sometimes repeatedly strike the same player, presumably due to excessive threat. Players seeking to avoid her attacks can stand where the tower itself obstructs her line of sight, preventing her from targeting them. For ranged classes, or while waiting for a group to gather to assault the enemy base, the easiest option is to stand very close to the to the tower itself. Her attacks are otherwise very dangerous for lone Horde in the area, receiving the full brunt of her wrath.

After being teamless for a period of time, Puppey attended DreamHack Summer 2009 as a stand-in for Mouz, where they placed 5th. This is where the famous Puppey – KuroKy “bromance” began. [1] The 7th of June the ex-Virtus. pro team under the leadership of “joLiE” goes under the sponsorship of “KingSurf”, getting a new tag – “Ks. int”. 18 year old Puppey was invited to the team as an experienced player.

Their first tournament was ASUS Summer Open 2008 on the 24th of August. A loss to “Rush3D” in the finals and a 2nd place finish wasn’t too bad for a newly formed team. A week after the loss on ASUS some players left the team, or went inactive. This led to the merging of two teams – KS. int and WG. [1] The new team tested their strength right away, in the East Europe Dota Championship where they faced “Rush3D” in the finals. “KS. int” had their revenge, but unfortunately it wasn’t an important tournament and the prize money was scarce. 2009 was approaching, after more roster changes the team still had no stability, or worthwhile results. Na`Vi – new home [ edit ]

Na`Vi’s roster would be: ArtStyle, Dendi, XBOCT, Puppey, and LighTofHeaveN. The reason for Puppey to leave GG. net was the lack of LAN event participation. In all this time GG. net didn’t attend a single LAN event, whereas any given CIS team attended at least 3 for the same time. Puppey’s first tournament under Na`Vi tag was the ICS#8 playoffs. In the winner bracket semi-final Na`vi met GG. net and stomped them in two quick games. Na`Vi took first place over MYM (2-0), taking their first win in the first online tournament with the new roster. On the 13th of August the team played in ASUS OPEN Summer 2011. It was their first LAN – and their first win. Next up would be The International. The first Dota 2 tournament – The International, with the unbelievable prizepool of $1.6 mil, was coming. Na`Vi got the betakeys required to play the game only 3 weeks before the tournament. (Puppey interview before The International)

Dota 2 [ edit ]

With Na’vi [ edit ]

Puppey made his first steps into the Dota 2 competitive scene with Natus Vincere among the likes of Dendi and Artstyle, as they competed in The International 2011. They went undefeated throughout the whole tournament, winning the unprecedented $1,000,000 USD grand prize. They also won ESWC 2011 and took home $12,000 USD. [2] In both of these tournaments, he demonstrated fantastic prediction with Chen’s ability to send heroes back to base. Puppey became Natus Vincere’s Captain after Artstyle’s departure from the team in October 2011. After The International 2011 Puppey went on to captain Na’vi to a successful second place in both The International 2012 and The International 2013, and multiple other high place finishes. During the run-up to the The International 2014 it became clear that Na’vi wasn’t the dominant force it once was. They finished TI2014 in seventh place, their worst result in a TI.

He was then released from Na`Vi on August 20, 2014. [3] One week later, on August 27th, it was revealed that Puppey, along with Kuroky, Fly, BigDaddy, and s4, had formed Team Secret.

Team Secret [ edit ]

Hailed by many as a super team, Puppey joined Team Secret as their captain. After a rough start and some roster switches for the new super team they got their first LAN tournament win at the The Summit 3. Team Secret looked really dominant the months before The International 2015, but only managed to finish seventh.

After The International 2015 Team Secret split up, with only Puppey remaining. Puppey then formed a new team around himself. The new Secret was able to win the MLG World Finals against TI5 champions, Evil Geniuses as well as taking the Nanyang Dota Championship from Vici Gaming and taking runner-up at the Frankfurt Major. The team however, faltered at the end of the year with an early departure from the World Cyber Arena 2015. At early 2016, the team’s mediocre results marched on with a 5th-6th finish at Starladder and a 7th-8th finish at the MarsTV Dota League. The team, however, made a large resurgence by winning the Shanghai Major early into the year. After a last place finish at the Dota Pit, in a controversial decision, the team opted to kick both w33 and MiSeRy to welcome UNiVeRse and Arteezy.

The shuffle did not have the intended results as the team had a second-to-last placing at ESL One Manila and a last place finish at the Manila Major. After which, the team traded UNiVeRse for BuLba, and later received Aui 2000 as a coach. The team seemed to have recovered with a second place finish at Starladder, but they were quickly shot back down to the bottom with a last place finish at The International 2016.

The team later disbanded a second time with all members and coaches, save for Puppey and Pieliedie, leaving. Although there was a major setback, the team was able to rebound when it received Midone, Forev and MP from the post-International shuffle. The reformed team was able to take top 4 the MarsTV Dota League as well as 1st at the Faceit Invitational. In the end, though, the team failed to qualify for the Boston Major, and Forev later departed and was replaced by Khezu. Team Secret would later go on to take first at ROG MASTERS.

Best Dota 2 Betting Sites – A Detailed Review

Best Dota 2 Betting Sites – A Detailed Review

I have written an article explaining methods of earning money from Dota 2 earlier. Now I have carried out a review of the most popular Dota 2 betting sites so that you don’t waste your time / money / items on stupid sites. Sites listed below are in order of recommendation.

Review Criteria for Dota 2 Betting Sites

I’ve carried out review of Dota 2 betting site while keeping following points in mind.

  1. Site Speed
  2. User Interface
  3. Reward for bets
  4. Other features on site
  5. Site Support
  6. Miscellaneous

1. Rivalry. gg

This is a comparatively new site with amazing potential. Major factor because of which this site is the best is that it deals with real money. You can place your bet with real money and earn real money as reward. If you are a good gamer which good understanding of your respective game, then this site has the potential to earn you some good bucks.

  • Your first bet is free – no deposit required
  • Live bet while the matches are being played
  • Licensed, legal, trusted, and completely safe
  • Deposit bonuses available. No catches. No BS.
  • Bet on Dota, CS:GO, League of Legends, Overwatch, CoD, and more.
  • No minors. Must be 18+
  • Must be in region where betting is legal and allowed
  • No support for skins. Real money only

2. Dota 2 Lounge

Pioneer of Dota 2 betting sites, Dota 2 Lounge was created in 2013 by Borewik. This site provides Dota 2 items trade along with Dota 2 betting. Along with betting you can also watch live streams of ongoing / upcoming matches.

  • One of the oldest Dota 2 betting sites, therefore almost no glitches / bugs.
  • Lots of gamers are using this site for betting, therefore reward ratio is great.
  • Site is extremely simple and no advanced shit is added in it, user interface is extremely simple to use and it just takes 5 minutes for first timer to use this site to its full potential.
  • It is optimized for mobile as well, therefore easy to use while on go.
  • Site’s support is prov >
  • Dota 2 Lounge is purely betting and trading site. It does not prov >

3. VPGame

VP Game is a Chinese site however, translated versions in English is also available. You encounter a very clean and sleek design once you open the site. Along with Dota 2, this site also provides betting and market options for CS:GO.

  • It is a very comprehensive site which fulfills needs of almost all Dota 2 player by prov >
  • VPGame supports only Chinese and English languages, thus making it difficult for those gamers who don’t understand both languages.
  • Site support is average and you get reply to your support ticket in almost 3-4 days average time.
  • Being feature rich site, its user interface is little bit complex, it may take some time for a new user to understand its features.

4. NXTGame

NXTGame is comparatively new site and other than eSports betting options, it also provides options for betting on sports events. How ever only issue is that you can only bet Dota 2 items.

  • You can bet only Dota 2 items on any type of sports / online games.
  • This site does not have traffic as compared to D2L or VPGame, therefore rewards for bets are small.
  • NXTGame often faces problems with their bot’s availability.

5. Dota 2 Top

Another Chinese site, not popular like VPGame, but still lots of users use this site to bet lots of Dota 2 items. Dota2Top’s items trading system is very unique. Instead of asking for specific items, you list your item and then provide an estimate value of items that you want in return. Now those items can be anything. That is your luck then.

  • Once you see its name it feels that this site is only about Dota 2, but it also prov >
  • Site is not fast enough once you load it for the first time. After that, because of cookies, it becomes better.
  • You can only use Dota 2 items to bet.
  • This is a Chinese site and lots of text is hard coded in Chinese and simply selecting different language does not help a lot.
  • Dota2Top does not have worthwhile feature except trading (difficult mechanism) and betting.

6. Dota2BestYolo

Dota2BestYolo is quite a new site and I think it was created this year or may be in last months of 2015. Being relatively new site, it has to take care lots of bugs specifically those issues which are related to bots. I see lots of potential in this site but developer has to work hard to fix it that is why its last in my recommendation for Dota 2 betting sites.

  • Dota2BestYolo prov >
  • A total rip off of Dota2Lounge with some modifications and new features.
  • Site’s speed is terrible and sometime it takes ages to load properly.
  • Dota2BestYolo does not provide items trading, market or news stuff. Its purely betting site with no other feature.
  • Site’s support is terrible. Rather I think that they don’t even provides any support to its users because when I sent a test email to check response, this is what I got. “Your message to was automatically rejected: Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full)“. So that means there are many unread support emails still lying around in their inbox and no one is taking any look at that.

So what is your personal experience about Dota 2 betting sites ? Must tell us about it in comments below.

The Ultimate DOTA 2 Gu > 29 Dec , 2016

DOTA 2 is one of the biggest MOBA games available on PC, with online tournaments to massive live-championships and big prize pools to be won.

DOTA 2 is complex. Gamers who are new or looking to step up their game in DOTA 2 will need to learn as much as possible to win big.

And here’s how you can do it.

Play DOTA 2 on WorldGaming

The Journey to Going Pro in DOTA 2

You’ll take away plenty from this guide if you’re aspiring to go pro in DOTA 2, or simply want to improve your skills.

Don’t Rush The Game

In any kind of MOBA game, you never want to rush.

Rushing to push, gank, kill, and do everything else is only going to bring down your team in the long run.

It’s a good idea to farm. Farming will help you build XP and Gold while being able to buy better upgrades, in turn letting you take over the opposing team’s base. Play the long game!

Don’t Cheap Out At The Beginning

Almost every MOBA player will tell you it’s a good idea to buy the basic items at the beginning: potions, boots, and daggers are good places to start.

The boots and daggers will give your hero the main boost in ATK and Speed at the beginning, allowing you to farm much easier.

Master Your Hero

No one becomes a pro without having master their main (hero). You know you’re playing with or against experienced players if they use the same main in every game.

For new players: if you want to master a hero or figure out your play style, then it may be a good idea to play with the same hero for four weeks. You don’t want to miss out on the best character for your style without exploring a bit.

This gives you the chance to get comfortable with your hero’s role, often one of these:

While you’re trying to master your hero, you’ll also get used to the gameplay mechanics and what you need to work on to achieve more wins.

The best way to master your hero is to play with the same hero for three to four days.

This gives you the chance to get comfortable with your chosen hero and decide if their gameplay style is for you: rush, gank or tank.

Watch How the Pros Play

Watch. Observe. Reflect.

See how your favorite pros play in DOTA 2 matches. Taking the best parts of their strategies could boost your game pretty fast, and maybe even put you on the list of DOTA 2 champions over time.

Most DOTA 2 pros will offer advice and explanations on why they do certain things. Hit them up on Twitter or a Reddit AMA!

Look at the Mini-Map

The mini-map will help you respond quickly to what’s going on near you rather than the close-up view you have on your hero.

You’ll also be able to scope out the situation when your opponents are far away—they won’t always be in plain sight, so take the opportunity to set up some traps.

Practice Makes Perfect

It’s true that “practice makes perfect.” Make time for the game, and think critically about what you want to achieve in specific games. Check out this subreddit thread on practicing in DOTA 2. You can find a lot of useful tips from players who have done this before.

Awesome Play On Your A-Game

Make your decisions confidently. This is the key to practicing as a DOTA 2 player because your actions are building blocks for a larger strategy. Some missteps aren’t going to make or break anything.

Confidence allows you to think straight and make logical sense of all of your gameplay decisions. And confidence comes from practice and experience, one match at a time.

Observe Everything

In DOTA 2 there are a lot of things going on at once. It takes real strategy to observe everything but the more you start observing, the better you’ll get.

Stay on top of everything that’s going on in your practice sessions, and don’t develop tunnel vision. Keeping an ear to the ground is the key winning! Watch for:

  • the environment
  • teammates’ actions
  • opponent’s actions
  • traps

When you’re beginning to observe everything, it becomes quite clear where your hero should be, where you should be setting up traps, and the best places to farm at the beginning of your game.

Every time you practice observation, you begin to act quicker.

You’re on your way to becoming a pro in DOTA 2.

Check back here for more pro tips and tricks you need to play like a pro.

Dota 2 initiators

Dota 2 initiators

Dota 2 initiators

Initiating

Initiating is the capability of Heroes to cripple a group of enemies before a clash to gain an upper hand. The concept of initiating is central to success at the mid-and late game phase of any game of Dota, and mainly deals with the art of starting a teamfight in such a way that your team already is advantaged when the fight begins. In a team without heroes well suited to this task, each Teamfight could become a messy affair, or your team runs the risk of always getting attacked first.

Contents

Means of Initiating [ edit ]

Heroes [ edit ]

Initiators are the most important driving force in winning team clashes. Most Initiators have one or more area of effect abilities that delivers heavy damage and/or severe crowd control status effects to multiple enemy heroes. Initiators generally double as a Tank, Support, or Roamer. Some Initiators focus more on damaging singular targets to help eliminate them, usually the enemy Carry.

Be aware that playing an Initiator requires one to be bold and to be aware of the intentions of one’s team. Should one initiate, one’s team must be able to commit.

Heroes whose primary function is Initiation are Tidehunter , Earthshaker , Sand King , Clockwerk , Axe , Enigma , and Vengeful Spirit . The full list of heroes with initiative capabilities is below.

Items [ edit ]

Items really depend on what type of Initiator one could be. If their initiating ability requires them to be close such as Earthshaker’s Echo Slam and Tidehunter’s Ravage, an item such as Blink Dagger, Force Staff, or even Shadow Blade can really ease the job.

If their initiating ability requires them to be uninterrupted throughout the battle such as Sand King’s Epicenter or Crystal Maiden’s Freezing Field, Black King Bar allows them to remain active throughout the clash for them to deliver the most out of everything. If the enemy lacks disables but is simply attacking hard (especially with bashes) a Ghost Scepter may be viable on heroes who are purely spellcasters, like Crystal Maiden.

Initiators also need to disable the most amount of enemies at one time, so Eul’s Scepter of Divinity and Scythe of Vyse are also great items. Area debuff items such as Shiva’s Guard and Assault Cuirass (both of which give armor) also help.

Initiators also make great carriers of area support items such as Mekansm and Pipe of Insight, as they will help you and your team survive the teamfight. Items that increase personal survivability such as Heart of Tarrasque and Blade Mail also work on certain heroes. If playing a hard support initiatior with low HP, remember that your best hope of survival isn’t more HP – it’s to cause as much chaos as possible. The more damage or disable you deal, the less likely enemies will be able to kill you before your allies kill them. For this reason, buying Shiva’s Guard or Veil of Discord to harm or disable your enemies may be safer than buying armor or HP on heroes who aren’t good at tanking anyway. If you’re not sure about this, get items like Mekansm which help your team and you. Many supports’ initiation combos have long cooldowns – if you’ve just landed all your spells, you will contribute little during the rest of the teamfight anyway. If you’re low on HP, cast your teamfight spells & items quickly and back off.

The Key to Initiating [ edit ]

There are many, many ways to handle a good initiation, but often, the ingredient is a hero with a Blink Dagger and a game-changing AoE disable, a warded map, and a very good sense of intuition and map awareness. There are several ways to initiate: Either catch the other team while they are badly positioned, at a time when your own teammates are ready to pounce on them, or isolate and immediately kill one enemy, then mop up the rest when they clump up to try to defend him.

Being the Initiator means that you are basically in charge of aggression for your team. However, some heroes who are commonly labelled as Initiators (Sand King, Earthshaker, Enigma) are equally good at immediately winning a team fight that is already underway, because the other team might be loathe to clump themselves together under the threat of huge AoE damage until they have an opportunity to actually attack the other team.

Essentially, initiation is about disabling as much of the enemy as possible so that they cannot escape when your team starts assaulting the enemy. To achieve this easier, it is recommended that you have the means to catch the enemy by surprise by appearing in their midst unexpectedly. This allows you to land your AoE disable, since the enemy will have hardly any time to react. To surprise the enemy, oftentimes a Blink Dagger is used so that they have as little time to react as possible. If not, a Shadow Blade or an Rune of Invisibility can be used, but as this can be countered with a Gem of True Sight it is not as good. Alternatively, if you have an ability that can stun a large area from afar, such as Tiny’s Avalanche, Warlock’s Chaotic Offering, or Leshrac’s Split Earth, you can consider simply charging at your opponent and launching your stun, but beware that the opponent will have stunners too, and that a fraction of a second’s slowness in casting could mean you getting stunned and them pulling off a successful initiation. In Dota, teamfights can be won in mere seconds, so one misstep could cost you a lot.

Heroes that can deal high AoE damage can also be considered initiators, because they force the enemy to scatter, and in some rare cases, flee (for example a well-used Echo Slam could slash a whole team’s HP in half). In this case, the enemy will try to escape, and that is a prime opportunity or your team to charge in and massacre them all.

It is best to initiate at a place where the enemy cannot spread out. The goal of a teamfight is to eliminate as many of the opponent Heroes as possible, and so if you were to initiate in an open area, you could have many heroes going in many different directions. This limits the effectiveness of your follow-up Nukers’ spells and makes it harder to wipe-out the enemy team (the most desired outcome of any teamfight).

Also, as mentioned at the start of this section, GOOD WARDING is imperative. Without detailed vision of the map, it becomes hard to know if that lone hero is merely bait for a teamfight you will not initiate. It becomes hard to know where exactly you should set your trap, and whether you can rush there in time to set up (the initiators’ back-ups’ positioning is vital).

“Strike when your enemy is most vulnerable.” This is the basic principle that initiation will fulfill: your AoE disable will make the enemy vulnerable, and what’s left is to have fun mopping up the foe.
