Dota2Lounge hit hard by Valve crackdown. Virtual bets no longer permitted
No more virtual item betting on Dota2Lounge Dota2Lounge became an integral part of the Dota 2 landscape, but following Valve’s crackdown on virtual betting websites triggered by the infamous CS:GO Lotto scandal, we are seeing betting websites change their Terms of Service or just drop gambling outright.
D2L has a CSGO Lounge where you can gamble your skins on match outcomes, the same as Dota2Lounge, and with the current state of things it is clearly a very risky business to continue along with the same model. With this in mind on Tuesday D2L posted this on their Facebook page:
Today we are announcing that we are closing our virtual items betting functionality with immediate effect. https://t. co/U4FP0QVZA4
Prior to this Dota2Lounge had limited access to the betting functions for users in countries where esports betting is forbbiden. They also updated the terms of service asking all users to confirm they are above the age of 18 and that they use the services “solely and exclusively for the purpose of your genuine participating in the Games and not for any financial or other operations”. Dota2Lounge’s changes are an attempt to keep everything above board to avoid breaking the Steam Subscriber agreement (explained below).
Implications – What does it mean for us? It means no more “ez bugattis” or “ez rares”. The website will now change from a betting website to a website about e-sports entertainment as stated. You can not gamble with your hats which shows Valve’s stance towards the issue and is a direct extension of their stance towards people using virtual items to gamble with real money regardless of whether you’re above the legal age or not.
When did this become an issue? The Main Cause: CS:GO Lotto among others The CS:GO scandal, in short, was caused by the discovery that many CS:GO websites were advertising skins and betting to people under the legal gambling age. Two prominent CS:GO Youtubers Trevor “TmarTn” Martin and Tom “ProSyndicate” Cassell, were even sued after they were deemed to have actively promoted their gambling website CSGOLotto to minors.
However, they were not the only ones. James “PhantomL0rd” Varga, a high profile CS:GO streamer with 1.3 million followers on Twitch also had his channel shutdown for rigging bets. The purge was real and Valve took action to stamp out the underhand tactics used to cash in on in-game purchases and skins. The scandal which took place in July was easily the biggest to hit CS:GO since its inception, and the repercussions have even reached Dota 2.
When the truth was uncovered Valve came under fire from some people who claimed that Valve allowed underage gambling, and that they were to blame for enabling and supporting its existence. Valve issued cease and desist letters to 22 CS:GO betting websites as well as to Dota2Lounge, stating they were breaking the terms of the Steam Subscriber agreement by using Valve’s services for commercial use.
With Dota 2 already flooded with hats, players always wonder what are the best items that they should have in dota 2 before they die. So to make your death wish more easy, we have gathered up the top 10 best Dota 2 items that you should have once in your lifetime.
Dragon Claw Hook Even if you don’t play well with Pudge, this is something that you have been craving for all your life. Ever since the start when Pudge’s DC Hook came into being, it was one of those items that everyone wanted to have.
Demon Eater Probably the best arcana in Dota 2, Shadow Fiend’s Demon Eater is the game’s coolest arcana that you can desire of.
Battlefury You might be questioning why timebreaker was not included instead of battlefury. However, even though the worth of timebreaker is higher, bearing a battlefury on Faceless void just makes you believe you can own the crap out of the enemy team.
Platinum Baby Roshan Probably the most expensive item in Dota 2, the platinum baby Roshan is very rare. You would be lucky enough just to see it games since the people who own the Platinum Baby Roshan are too busy admiring its beauty.
Golden Bracers The most recent immortal and the first for Enigma has set up high hopes for Dota 2 players to get their hands on the Golden Bracers. Probably one of the reasons why Dota 2 players are spending like crazy on compendium points just to get their hands on these sparkling bracers.
Kantusa Based on how common juggernaut has became a pick in competitive and pub matches, having Juggernauts best blade is a must. There is nothing every enormous or extremely sparkling about the sword however, just the simplicity of it makes the the most beautiful sword in Dota 2
Golden Gravelmaw if you play as a support then probably you own the gravelmaw of Earthshaker. However, this beauty is not even close to any other when it comes to showoff.
Feeder Eater
Sniper’s feeder eater is the best thing you can have for the old man. Just how the name sounds, you know the weapon means business.
Iron Bear Set
Not the most expenisve item for Ursa, however; personally it is far better than the alpine stalker set. Just because something is rare doesn’t mean it has to be cool. On the other hand, Iron Bear set just turns Ursa into a monster on the run for blood.
Kunkka’s Shadow Blade
If you have a shadow blade on Kunkka then others already know that you have insane skills with the hero. furthermore, if you love kunkka, the item is just too beautiful to have.
Even though there are a tons of awesome items in Dota 2, there are just too many choices. The list covers the must have items for you and along with those that can only be desired of. Unless you scam people like crazy or consider yourself as a betlord some of these items would remain a dream for you.
Don’t Worry about lag. Own your enemy with your favorite heroes only with Kill Ping

Biography [ edit ]
Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Dendi got an early start with competitive gaming in net cafes when his elder brother married, moved out and took the family’s PC with him. Dabbling with Counter-Strike first, he soon found Warcraft 3 where he played in local tournaments and built a love for the competition and a thirst to be the best. Though he was quite successful in Warcraft 3 and even won a few local championships in Lviv, he knew he had found his calling when he stumbled upon DotA. He picked up the game quickly and played it almost exclusively over the next few months.
Beginning with learning only supports, he practiced heavily and was quickly vouched to the IHCS1 league and soon created his own team for tournaments in Lviv. After he led his team to a championship in Kiev, he was drafted by a team called “Wolker. Gaming” and began his professional career at 17.
DotA [ edit ]
Dendi started playing professionally with WG in 2006. [1] He was a part of the Ukrainian squad that finished third in MYM Prime Nations the same year. Only a few months later WG made it to the grand final of one of the most prestigious tournaments at the time; MYM Prime Defending. [2] When Kingsurf. international merged with WG the next year he became a full-time member of Ks. int. [1] In late 2008 he joined DTS, only to return to Ks. int in March 2009. [3] Three months later though, Dendi returned to DTS. [4] The team would end up finishing 2nd at ESWC 2010. At the end of 2010, Dendi and DTS finished 3rd at the prestigious WDC 2010. [5] Dendi joined Natus Vincere at the end of 2010. [6]
Dota 2 [ edit ]
Dendi started his Dota 2 career with Na’Vi, who quickly established themselves as one of the best teams in the world by winning The International 2011. Na’Vi continued to dominate and won many tournaments in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. Dendi was the center of Na’Vi’s consistent stable and skilled rosters, with his performance greatly contributing to their success.
The Natus Vincere Dota 2 team achieved significant success with Dendi as their midlaner during the first few years of the game; they finished as the runners-up for both The International 2012 and The International 2013, losing out to Invictus Gaming and Alliance, respectively. 2013 would mark the last year of Na’Vi and Dendi’s dominance in the Dota 2 scene, as they only recorded two LAN victories since January 2014. The International 2014 saw Na’Vi and Dendi finishing the tournament outside of the top 2 for the first time and the following two Internationals, TI 5 and TI 6, they would finish in last place. The results would deteriorate further, as they would fail to even qualify for The International 2017, they failed to advance out of the group stage of the regional qualifiers. This marked the first year of The International tournaments without Dendi attending as a player. The 2017/18 season started of promising for Dendi and Na’Vi, who dominated the CIS scene in the early months, crowning their improving results with their second LAN victory since 2014. However, the second half of the season saw the roster break apart and finally the team would fail to even reach the regional qualifiers for The International 2018, after losing in the open qualifier.
Four years of roster instability and poor results finally took their toll on the reputation of the Na’Vi organization and on Dendi’s status as a legendary player and a top tier midlaner. After 8 years playing mid on Na’Vi, Dendi was finally removed from the active roster in September 2018. However, Dendi vowed to continue playing professionally. After a brief stint on Tigers, Dendi joined The Pango.
Team Secret is a European team that was first established during the post-TI4 shuffle. The original team drew upon players from former Natus Vincere, Fnatic and Alliance squads. The team has since undergone a number of reincarnations, but uniformly under the captaincy of Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov. Since its formation Team Secret have been one of the most successful brands in Dota 2, not only in Europe but on the international stage as well.

Ascendants to the Great Seat of Cymurri had for ages imported their Oracles exclusively from the Ivory Incubarium, high in the hollow peaks of the Zealot’s Range, with a downpayment made at the time of the embryo’s conception and the balance surrendered on delivery of a mature, well-trained prophet to the Gate of the Graven King. Raised by same Pallid Sybils who bred and birthed them, all sanctioned Oracles were anchored by their physical form to the world we most of us share; meanwhile, their souls roamed far afield, barely bound by the airiest astral umbilicus. From such cosmic roamings the prophets would return, speaking words of fire with tongues of flesh. Their mystic utterances were analyzed by the Cymurri Advisors, who found in them visions of the future, diplomatic advice, all the supernatural ammunition the line of Graven Kings needed to secure victory in every campaign, whether in the court or on the battlefield. Thus it went for generations, the Graventome’s pages filling with the names of triumphant kings and the new domains they had acquired. So it went, that is, until the particular Oracle named Nerif arrived to serve the very last of the stone-helmed kings.
From the first, Nerif’s prophecies were unusual. They seemed not merely to portend the future, but to shape it. The weird soothsayer croaked out advice no one had requested, and suddenly the Cymurri found themselves immersed in conflicts with newfound enemies. The Advisors, sensing a threat to their power, were quick to pin these unwelcome developments on the latest Oracle. They demanded his removal, petitioning the Sybils to reclaim their defective prophet and replace him with a worthy substitute. But Nerif described an ominous dream of the Incubarium’s destruction, and within hours came news of the ancient school’s destruction in a catastrophic avalanche. Fearing the same fate as the Pallid Sybils, the Advisors withdrew to their counsel chambers, suddenly anxious to avoid the Oracle’s notice. The Graven King, however, was a creature of great practicality. He doubted the commitment of his overprudent Advisors. An Oracle of such rarity, he reasoned, ought be used as a weapon to enlarge his domain. He therefore demoted his timid counselors and stationed Nerif at his side. With only a blunt understanding of Nerif’s talent, he boldly stated the outcomes he desired, and coaxed Nerif into uttering his wishes as prophecy.
At first, all was well. The Last Graven King boasted that by adopting Fate’s pet, he had made a plaything of Fate itself. He should have taken it as a warning then when, on the eve of his invasion of the Unsated Satrap’s realm, he attempted to coerce a prediction of certain victory from his Oracle, only to hear Nerif quietly mutter, “It could go either way.” No firmer statement could he force from Nerif’s lips. Still, the King was confident in his army. The Satrapy was landlocked, poorly armed, and shut off from all possible allies. He took “It could go either way” to indicate that with tactical might on his side, there was little risk in his plan.
Of course, we now know that he should have taken the sayer’s words more literally. Even with careful study of the Annotated Annals of If, what happened on the field before the Unsated Satrap’s palace is almost impossible to visualize. It appears that in the midst of the carnage, the battle began to bifurcate. At each pivotal moment, reality calved and broke into bits. Soldiers who staggered and fell in battle also stood sure-footed, forging onward to fight. Their minds also split; the warriors found themselves both dead and alive, existent and non-existent. Victory and defeat were partitioned, so that each separate outcome was experienced in simultaneity by both armies. The universe became a hall of mirrors, with all the mirrors endlessly shattering.
The immediate effect on both parties was insanity. Unable to comprehend the state of being both triumphant and defeated, the Graven King’s mind dispersed into motes of madness. The naive Satrap fared no better. The opposing paired realities continued to split and split again, echoing into infinite histories, all of them populated by a bewildered populace that soon lost the ability to feed, clothe, defend, or reproduce itself in the traditional manner.
Long before the repercussions had played out, however, Cymurri’s wary Advisors had seized Nerif, bound and gagged him, and launched him out of their universe at high speed on a dimensional barque, in the hopes of depositing him where he could do them no harm forever. It was, of course, too late for them. And may well be for us.
