Годни сил Света и сил Тьмы сойдутся в битве Древних

Раньше Годень приходил в одиночку, но не в этот раз. Теперь их двое, и эти удивительные двойники сражаются друг с другом, будто бы сама суть времени изломилась. Некоторые считают это событие знаком приближающегося раскола, другие же видят в нём возможность использовать Годня в великой битве.

ГОДНИ АТАКУЮТ

ЧТО ТАКОЕ
БИТВА ГОДНЕЙ?

Битва Годней — это обычный матч в режиме «All Pick» с одной особенностью: у каждой команды есть могучий союзник — Годень. Каждые 5 минут Годни будут появляться и атаковать одну из линий. Используйте очки способностей, чтобы управлять Годнем и улучшать его, помогая ему разрушить крепость противников. Очки способностей можно получить несколькими способами на протяжении празднования Новоцвета.

КАК ПОУЧАСТВОВАТЬ
В БИТВЕ ГОДНЕЙ

Битва Годней доступна только во время случайных 10-минутных промежутков несколько раз в день. Чтобы позволить вам собрать друзей и приготовиться, за час до начала битвы появится таймер. После окончания отсчета все игроки, запустившие поиск игры в следующие 10 минут, попадут на Битву Годней. Эти игры не записываются в статистику.

Первая битва Годней произойдет завтра.

КАК УСИЛИТЬ
ГОДНЯ

Очки способностей можно использовать, чтобы улучшить Годня в одном из трех направлений: способности помогать, эффективности в сражении или скорости. Через 10 и 20 минут после начала битвы можно получить усиленные версии этих улучшений, например: Resurrection Aura, Greater Hex, Stampede и другое. В начале каждой битвы Годней ваши очки способностей полностью восстанавливаются.

КАК УПРАВЛЯТЬ
ГОДНЕМ

С помощью очков способностей Годню можно отдавать приказы — например, телепортироваться защищать или атаковать линию, усилить себя двойным уроном или использовать сильное заклинание вроде Thundergod’s Wrath. После получения приказа Годень будет действовать по своему разумению, так что не нужно следить за каждым его действием.

Не забывайте использовать очки способностей — они восстанавливаются после каждой битвы.

Вы можете получить очки способностей следующими способами:

• 4800 очков

В комплекте с предметом «Frost Avalanche» для Crystal Maiden.

1000 / 2400 очков

Все участники битвы, вне зависимости от исхода боя, получат надбавку к очкам для следующего раза. Награды, полученные от участия в битве Годней, невозможно передать, но можно подарить.

Dota 2: How and When Should Pro Teams Be Allowed to Pause?

Pauses are a contentious issue in professional Dota 2 matches.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of pauses you sees in matches are usually accompanied by an excuse along the lines of “sry lag.” Obviously, lag is a bigger problem in teamfights than at any other time, so it makes sense that players might pause before or after big fights to deal with the problem. But how many of those ‘lag’ pauses are actually for lag? How many pauses happen to take momentum away from the other team or give your own team a chance to mentally reset?

Pauses during pubs are one thing, but when pauses can alter the course of gameplay in a high-stakes match in a major tournament, it’s an entirely different issue, especially with the amount of prize money on the line at Dota 2 events.

The Famous “Puppey Pause”

Puppey has been accused of improper tactical pauses in the past. I’ve seen him pause right after all the players load into the game while everyone’s at the fountain. This isn’t technically breaking any rules and one can argue that both teams benefit from the extra time to discuss things. Pausing at the beginning of a game is also relatively common in the professional scene, and technical reasons are often cited.

However, Puppey is also infamous for the event in the above video, where he paused during a pivotal moment in-game. Puppey was accused of giving XBOCT the heads-up about his impending gank, which gave him enough reaction time to escape it and survive. Had the pause not occurred, XBOCT could only have received little to no warning. Now, no one but Na’Vi knows if Puppey said anything while they were paused, but it certainly demonstrates how pauses can be abused.

More recently, there was an incident during the South American qualifiers for Galaxy Battle II.

One of the players on Pain posted his reponse to the event, but another viewer claims that Pain used the time to extensively check the enemy’s items. (You can watch the pause in question here.) Typically, there’s language in tournament rulebooks that outlines the illegality of stream sniping, but it’s unclear whether rules prohibit players from pausing and looking around, even though it seems like that kind of behavior should be prevented.

Tactical pauses are kind of like the esports equivalent of calling a timeout right before the other team kicks a potentially game-winning field goal in American Football – the goal is to stop the momentum and psych the other team out. The difference is in Dota, it also gives the pausing team the ability to check enemy items and discuss hero placement on the map. The game doesn’t have “rounds” like CS:GO, and plays out in real-time, ideally without any form of interruption.

Ultimately, the burden falls on tournament organizers to be very specific about what’s allowed and what isn’t. They can say “cheating of any kind is not allowed,” but who gets to define what cheating is? Is it cheating to hit the pause button in the middle of a fight and take the time to outline a plan with your team? Sounds unethical to me, but it’s hard to identify as cheating when admins aren’t listening to the team communications. Is it cheating to hit pause and check what items the enemy team has before a key engagement? Possible Methods for Addressing Technical Pause Abuse

“Each team is allowed to have 1 (one) 3 (three) minutes long pause during per each game. It is not allowed to call a pause during the fights, gangs and other in-game activities in which are involved players from both teams.” [sic]

This was a solid attempt to spell out the rules for pausing clearly, and specifically allowed teams to make tactical pauses.

The StarLadder rules don’t appear to be available online, but here’s what ESL’s rulebook has to say about pauses during matches:

It is forbidden to pause a game for no reason. After you pause a game you must say in all chat the reason of the pause. In the same game, the total pause time can’t be longer than 10 minutes (if a team pause the game for 3 minutes and later pause it again for 7, they can’t pause anymore, unless the opponents agree with it).

This allows for incidents like disconnecting peripherals or spontaneous chair collapses, but it doesn’t really force teams to be truthful about the reason why they’re pausing. It would be pretty easy to say “sry lag” and take a minute long pause to check out your opponent’s items.

WESG’s rules are even more vague. They only state that “if player disconnect or other accident happens, teams only have two opportunities to call pauses.” They also have to provide a reason to the referees. What constitutes an accident in this case? It sounds like pausing for lag wouldn’t be allowed according to these rules, but is that enforced? Are the referees on the same page as to what constitutes an accident or a legitimate reason to pause?

Under ESL’s rules, teams would be allowed to take a technical pause as long as they don’t exceed their total pause time. The rules make it sound like they’re supposed to have a good reason to do so, but the most literal reading of the rules would, in theory, allow a team to announce, “We’re pausing to discuss our next play!” and take a pause, as long as they don’t exceed the ten minute pause time total.

Better Rules, Better Games

All of these are examples where tournament organizers would benefit from more clearly spelled out rules. Many things in esports would benefit from having a lawyer write them, and I think rulebooks are certainly one of them. If a team is going to cry foul about their opponent’s pauses in a match with three million dollars on the line, you better have some way to mediate that dispute.

During LAN events, teams usually have a moderator present in the booth with them to enforce the rules, so it would be hard to claim that someone’s mouse doesn’t work in order to get a tactical pause. This doesn’t do much about the online qualifier matches, though.

A Reddit user in the thread about Pain Gaming mentioned a possible fix that might be useful in high-level matches: whiting out the screen during pauses. If a team has to pause the game to resolve a technical issue, a blank screen would mean that they can’t use the time to check positions on each other’s perspectives or scope out items on the other team.

The white screen solution doesn’t solve the “psych out” pause problem, but I think that’s just part of playing a sport that has timeouts. With replays available, tournament organizers can look at player perspectives and see what they were looking at during the pause to help them make a decision about potential abuse of the rules.

Pain Gaming wasn’t disqualified from Galaxy Battles II as they’re listed as the winner of the South American qualifiers, so whether it be accidental or tactical, their pause has skated by for now.

The International Dota 2 Championships is to be held in Seattle, Washington. This tournament will be the fourth edition of The International, and will be the third consecutive year that the tournament is hosted in Seattle. Unlike the previous two years, the tournament will be held at the KeyArena, a multi-purpose arena in Seattle Center with a total seating capacity of over 17,000.

Eye of Skadi is generally my big item on Sniper , I very rarely go without it, and almost never go without Satanic , which is so much better than Mask of Madness , by about 5% extra lifesteal, possible 200% lifesteal, str, better build-up, MOAR TANK *****ES!

I like playing Sniper and always laugh when I see Mask of Madness on a Sniper , as any good player will be able to punish it (Gotta love dat Blink Dagger Naix, SUCK IT *****ES!).

Why don’t you start with Wraith Band ? It makes it so much easier to last hit, and don’t give me that **** about “Starting with Wraith Band makes you so ****ing squishy early on” because it doesn’t, you get Wraith Band , Iron Branch Iron Branch +2 Pooled Tango and you’re fine, trust me, I have a 100% winrate with those starting items 😛

Yet it’s interesting to see none of the alternative builds mention desolator which trainwrecks enemies in 3 successive shots.

IMO, for the early stages of the game MoM is a very viable choice, but it should be transtioned into desolator+hyperstone if the game prolongs to late/superlate game combats.

About your caster build, and how you increase your skills. I am assuming that you use his Q in order to farm, but I feel that this is kinda an ineffective method of farming when mana regen isn’t really going to be that extensive until Orchids, and that is going to be someway past the laning phase because we’re not starting that till after Drums. For that matter, Take Aim is how Sniper survives in lane. He is squishy, and he has no escape mechanisms. He will not get a Shadow Blade as core with the Caster build either. That’s why I feel like not maxing Take Aim first is incredibly dangerous and leaves you with little to work with, plus little means to run if ganks do come, and will come, your way. Shrapnel has really great range. And by the time you need it, you should have plenty of damage. And it’s slow even at 3 is still very nice. That’s why I felt that maxing Take Aim first, then Shrapnel, then not leveling Headshot until after Q is maxed (or even taking only one point if you really need that mini-stun to stop a channeling ability instead of a point in Shrapnel) would be a better build. Because all the damage will be largely from a combination of his Q, autoattacks and Orchid. The loss of damage from his W isn’t so bad.

Also, I’d suggest getting Drums after Orchid, because that’s more of a complimentary item than anything. Your Orchid should be rushed, since you need it as soon as possible. Like, right after whatever boots you get. If you really need damage, I would suggest getting a Wrath Band or even building it into Aquila if you REALLY need mana. Dota 2 headshot v10 0

And because we’re taking Take Aim first, Tranquil Boots are unnecessary as you shouldn’t be taking damage. If you are. Say, in a lane with some long range harass, like Shadow Demon, then by all means get them. But otherwise, he should be safe now. Sniper’s early game should be played cautiously and with his Caster build even more so.

Also, I wondered if Ethereal Blade would be any good for this build, and I thought that maybe it would be but only in conjunction with some kind of positioning item.

I was recently asked that how do I decide which hero I decide to play into which game and I often explain what key things in ranked all pick make me pick a certain hero. I try to list all of the different scenarios of ranked all pick.

Scenario 1, Forced to first pick:

The situation where no one is picking or saying anything and you are forced to pick first since supports are the best to pick first since they hardly ever tell what lineup they are going to be in. Now I approach this with 100% effective picks that fit in nearly every lineup and these are.

Lion, he fits into every lineup and counters many heroes just by his lockdown and burst and it’s one of my “go to” heroes in solo mmr when I know I have to play at my top level

Venge, good first pick material as well for similar reasons to lion.

WD, really sound hero that can be built aggressively with maledict or passive with heal.

SD, Again one hero that fits almost every lineup with strong laning, combos nicely with multiple heroes with disruption or he can be used as a passive support to protect weak carries in lane and in lategame with disruption.

Scenario 2, Confirm that you have 2 nd support in your team:

The situation that I love the most in pubs when I have confirmation or already firstpicked a sound support like SD, lion, venge, shaker, sandking, ogre magi. This is when my options rise to pick a good position 4 or position 5 hero depending entirely on your lanepartner.

Visage, really sound hero whenever you can pick him with a support duo or to face an aggressive dual lane like UD + viper or aggressive 3 lane. Assumption wrecks early fights and going into lategame if you can get the other support to buy wards until you have aghs or solar crest you can take over the game with visage.

Leshrac, excellent pos 4 hero with a stunner support or carry to help him land his stun. Benefits much from pos 4 with items going into lategame and lightning wrecks early teamfights.

SS, greedy support but excellent with a strong pos 5 that helps SS to catch people with shackle and by lvl 6 SS can turn kills into objectives really easily with wards.

Sand king, good ganker vs a solo offlane but weak vs aggressive dual or trilanes. If 2 nd support secures safelane sk can jungle by lvl 3 his blink really fast by using sandstorm and then take over the game.

Rubick, this hero is the most fun to play in dota 2 but he really needs a damaging support with him. He does very little dps early on but exels in initiating from long range with telekinesis. Usually I see rubick do will with a hero like AA or lesh that deal much dmg.

Scenario 3, Counterpicking the enemy.

Now this you can do when you get to pick among the last 3 picks when you see for example that your opposing carry is a wraith king or offlane is a hero that can be zoned relatively easily like phoenix or WR or you are against mid like storm.

Lion, again exels in counterpicking and manaburn is good vs WK.

Silencer, counters low hp offlaners really nicely and is good at zoning the solo offlaner out of the lane. Last word even works vs Icarus dive so that when phoenix casts it during word he just flies the whole way back since he can’t stop the dive in silence.

Skywrath, best support to deal single target dmg level 1 with arcane bolt. Strong even vs tanky offlaners like tide clock cent.

Bane, I like to take bane when I know I can get ulties off. Not to be taken when enemies have all the tools in the world to disable your ulti.

Abaddon, Counters heavy lockdown inducing enemies like bane mirana combo or burst and gank heavy team in general. Good at protecting your cores when you have enough lockdown in your team allrdy to kill something. And make sure you have enough ranged heroes to go with abaddon, you don’t want to end up with 5 melee lineup.

Shaker, strong in almost every lineup. Works wonders in all stages of the game but his weakest point is his early levels. If you pick shaker blindly and end up losing your safelane because your carry can’t do anything vs aggressive lane you are going to have a bad game. Very good hero vs heroes that require a lot of lockdown to kill like slark and storm. Very easy to turn early fights with 2-3 man fissure.

Scenario 4, aggressive dual lane:

This is kind of rare but you can run agro dual when you know that your safelane will do fine and opposing team have a weak safelane such as low dmg supports or even jungling axe or enigma and you face only 2 heroes at the safelane.

UD, flavor of the month but really good at the early levels and bullying the aggro lane.

Leshrac, Nice to pair with a normal offlaner like clockwork. Strong dmg with rightlick, long range, good animation and levels in lightning makes him dominate early fights.

Lich, denying creep to abuse lanecontrol and nuking is good. Very strong vs high physical dmg lineup and melee lineups in general.

ogre magi, good armor and hp. Very strong lvl 1 fights.

Scenario 5, Mix of defensive and aggressive support.

Now I admit at this point that these are the heroes I don’t play a lot but that doesn’t need to stop from picking them.

AA, pair with a 2 nd support and pick against heal

Dazzle, excellent laner at level 1 and good to save teammates

Treant, punching people lvl 1 and saving globally with armor. Good against pickoff heroes like SB and storm.

Disruptor, glimpse is amazing and ulti is really strong vs some lineups. Can be really weak in some games when you really just need burst and good stun rather than disruptor. Still one of my favourite heroes.
