Hero Introduction

If you want to have fun, enjoy the game and want to be a pain in the ass Lion is your pick. Lion is an intelligence ranged hero that is excellent in disabling a single target hero and giving out a ton of burst damage. It is a simple hero with less complexity for beginners to play with. This hero is mostly played as a Support Role/ Position 5 and very few times in a while as Mid Role/ Position 2. While facing heroes who are hard to stun or are too fast, you would want Lion to be on your side.

Lion’s first ability is Earth Spike. The ability is magical damage range stun which has the AoE of 125. This ability is quite useful to disable the enemy or a bunch of enemies if used properly. Really good Lion players know the cast range of the ability is 500 units but it extends to 825 units. While playing Pos2 you must max this ability in order to gain Last Hits (LH) in the mid lane and simultaneously stun the enemy hero. As Pos5 same can be done. Use this ability in the lane to harass the enemy and keep their health low to dominate the lane.

The second ability is one of the strongest disable ability of the entire game i. e Hex. An instant cast of this ability turns the enemy unit into a frog. Moreover, it gets rid of the passives like evasion or damage block of the target unit. At maximum level hex last till 4 seconds which is a quite long disable. During the laning phase, one level of the hex is more than enough. Hex not only stops channeling spells but also destroys illusions instantly.

When playing as Pos5 focus should be made on supporting the team by warding/dewarding, ganking and harassing enemy heroes in the lane. Though Pos2 Lion will always try to secure kills with the Ultimate ability in order to gain charges. Mid position Lion is as much dominating as the hero’s mobility. In that case, you might want to refrain from warding and save to get Dagger of Escape and rush to Aghanim’s Scepter.

Starting items

• Support Role: Observer/Sentry wards, Tangoes, Magic Stick, Smoke of Deceit and Tranquil Boots.
• Mid Role: Tangoes, Healing Salve, Null Talisman, Power Treads, and Empty Bottle.

Mid Game Items

• Support Role: Bracers (If required), Force Staff, Glimmers Cape, and Aether Lens.

Lion is a hero which can even own a six slotted carry hero with his low cooldown disable and heavy burst damage. When facing Lion precautions must be made to avoid being ganked or disabled because 9 out 10 times you might end up being dead.

Talent Tree Selection

While opting for the talents you must keep your role in mind. Pos5 role should select the +100 Cast Range because you need to spam your skills from a safe range and avoid dying in team fights. Both talents on level 2, +325 AoE Hex and +1000 Earth Spike Range are equally useful to any position Lion. This talent mainly depends on the situation of the game. If heavy disable is the need of the hour AoE Hex talent is highly useful than the Earth Spike talent.

Broke on Steam – Sell Trading Cards and CS:GO/TF2/Dota 2 Items for Steam Cash

‘Tis the season to not be broke, but unfortunately some years just don’t work out that way and Steam sales wait for no one. No one.

In my borderline poverty (see: sadness), I’ve begun selling my Steam trading cards and Dota 2 cosmetic items to pick up some of the new indie releases. Let me tell you: it feels amazing.

Selling those paltry trading cards has net me enough dosh to grab a couple of games off my wishlist, and it feels like hard-earned money. Even if it’s, you know, not hard-earned. It still feels great, and is something all you similarly money-lacking individuals out there should take a crack at as the holiday sales edge ever closer.

Selling trading cards and whatnot is nothing new on Steam, but this is the perfect time of year to delve into it if you want to be ready for the incoming sales. So let’s get crackin’ for those of you uninitiated in land of wonder that is the Steam Marketplace.

What can you sell?

You can’t make any money without having to sell first, and not everything that lands in your Steam inventory can be sold.

What can’t be sold:

• Games

What can be sold:

• Trading cards
• Profile backgrounds
• Emoticons
• Counter-Strike: Global Offensive items
• Team Fortress 2 items
• Dota 2 items

What can and cannot be sold on the Marketplace is fairly straight-forward, as evidenced in the lists above, but if you are particularly curious about a single item in your inventory, you can click on it to check. If there is no green ‘Sell’ button, the item cannot be sold.

It is worth mentioning there are some exceptions in the listed game items. For instance, The International 3 player cards cannot be sold.

Note: If you sell $200 worth of items/cards on the Steam Marketplace, it will request your social security number and personal information for tax purposes. Non-US citizens must prove they do not reside in the US.

Do keep in mind it is highly unlikely you will even come close to $200 by casually partaking in the Marketplace.

How can I start selling my cards and cosmetics?

This is as simple as going to your Steam inventory or wandering to the Marketplace itself. Items that are eligible for sale will have the green ‘Sell’ button as seen here:

From there, you are prompted with the median sale prices chart and can choose the sales amount.

Do note the prices listed include the fees tacked onto each sale. Price your items a few cents lower to adjust to this additional fee.

Additionally, you can use the Steam Marketplace in just about any region. The market will display prices in your currency.

Is selling stuff for a few cents really worth it?

A few cents add up pretty quickly, if multiple items are sold.

Trading cards and other items generally sell for $0.03 to $0.30, depending on the game they came from and how in-demand those items are. Selling something for less than $0.09 feels like a bit of a waste of time, but if you sell ten items/cards at that price, it’s $0.90. You can’t really complain about that.

CS:GO, Team Fortress 2, and Dota 2 cosmetic items have prices that vary much more widely than cards because of the rarity of certain items. A common Dota 2 item will sell for less than $0.10, but a rare and above can sell for $0.20 to far more than that. As with any other market, every item has a value and that value can fluctuate from day to day.

In general, items sell more highly on weekdays than weekends because there are less on the market. If you’re looking for the biggest bang for your efforts, shoot for selling on weekdays. Be sure to pay attention to the sale prices chart before putting an item up.

Taking a gamble with trading card booster packs

This is something I personally like to do, but is understandably not everyone’s cup of tea. Dota 2 cards worth

Because the prices of individual cards can fluctuate (and vary) so much, at times it can be worth a try to pick up a trading card booster pack in hopes of getting cards that will sell for more than the value of the pack itself.

This is a gamble because you receive three random trading cards, and some may not be worth much while some may be worth just enough. Doing this requires that you search for a game’s booster pack in the Marketplace, and then look up the value for each card in that series. From there you can decide whether to take the risk of a booster purchase.

It is worth noting that you will rarely turn a profit using this method on cards for popular games. Dota 2 cards, for example, are generally worth very little. You must follow the paragraph above and research/compare before diving into booster pack gambling.

Jungling is ideal as Lycan is a quick junger once he gets a couple of levels on his wolves, coupled with melee quelling blade you’ll find yourself clearing the camps in no-time. Your ulti gives an insane amount of potential dps if your enemies stand still. Thus opt for picking him when you have some decent disables on your team. Nevertheless, Lycan will be focused instantly in teamfights if they know they can stop you. Bkb should be thus gotten asap. You can even get it before treads, because you will have max movespeed in your ulti anyway.

NB: Lycan can also could also go long-lane solo or with a support. Ideally, if he lanes the long lane he should to so solo as he needs his levels fast. Best if you have allied jungler(s) to support your lane once in a while. You can just sit back and lasthit with your wolves.

Early: Jungle, big camps can be taken on easily when wolves are level 3. Hit 6, see if you can gank, if not, keep farming. rosh when you get vlads. Remember to micro the wolves when you rosh, tank with one, pull it back, tank with the other one, they will also not lose howl and makes you conserve your mana. Wall of text/Item selection

Later in the game you want to spend your money based on your needs:

Basher is a really cost-effective item because it allows you to jump into with fights with bkb on and most likely disabling one hero from the bat. your wolves will also appreciate this. This can also be upgraded to Abyssal blade for even faster kills.
Armor reducing items such as AC, and Desolator allows for much potential allied damage increase from both wolves and allies, inceases your lifesteal as well. Especially in conjuction with HotD/Satanic. AC/Deso also make rax as soft as cake.
Vanguard if you’re diving past enemy towers a lot.
Blademail if you see a tendency to be focused on more than usually.
Dagon for countering ghost scepters.
Diffusal versus omni, not ideal, but get it if no one else in your team can.
Heaven’s Halberd against heroes that give you a hard time through their physical hits.
Mkb to counter evasion.
Mjollnir for AoE presence.
SnY if you’re poor the poor supporting dps. Can also be disassembled to create HH + Manta later.
Necrobook for pushingpower if you feel a lack in that departement. Good with allied manta images.
Divine when you can secure Aegis or not die, (or gamble).
HoT gives great EHP with some armor, good if you find yourself going in and out of battle a lot.
Shadow Blade to buypass obs wards, gtfo when ulti is on cd and lulz. Can also be used for easier raxing with travels. NB: may be mana intense.
Satanic if things boil down to crucial 1v1s.
Battlefury if you have group disables such as lesh’s stun, enigma’s black hole etc. Eases the use of mana. Dota 2 lycan tips to improve
Armlet, if gotten early could provide of great service to you, but personally I find myself never getting this item because I feel like it delays other, more important items. The degen may also be counterproductive even though you have lifesteal. Another thing is that Lycan is a slot-intense hero, because 4-5 of your slots will most likely be filled up: treads, vlads, bkb, (wand/stick, tp).
Force staff to counter kiting and/or escaping when reviving from aegis/when ulti is on cooldown.
Same with Dagger. Also note that you can ninja your enemies with it when you revive to blink to a far away or fogged spot and get away.
You can also initiate with the latter ones making you lose less time running up to your enemies.
Guinsoo/Orchid if you need that very important disable/silence.
Travels for late push or solo raxing.

Remember, item builds are flexible!

Overlay Not Opening

Certain firewalls may prevent Steam from communicating with the game that requires it. You’ll want to work with a tech support specialist to ensure that the Firewall is not interfering. You may even need to temporarily disable it for testing purposes. It may be necessary to add exceptions in your firewalls for Steam.

Investigate Anti-Virus Software

AV software hooks very deep into user systems and can affect disk and network operations which will cause issues with Steam. Some games also use copy protection technology that can appear as malicious software to an AV scanner, resulting in potential false-positive alerts.

Dota 2 is an RTS-styled MOBA-type competitive team game with RPG elements. Two competing teams (Radiant and Dire) consist of five players each. The main objective in Dota 2 is to destroy the enemy Ancient inside their stronghold. These strongholds are protected by multiple towers down 3 lanes. Instead of building armies of units like in classical RTS games, each player controls a single Hero, a strategically-powerful unit with unique abilities and characteristics which can be improved over the course of the game. Experience is earned when nearby creeps and heroes die, and once collecting enough experience, the hero gains a level, which increases the hero’s stats, and at most levels the hero gains a skill point which can be spent to unlock or upgrade one of the hero’s abilities. Alongside a hero’s fixed abilities, each hero has 6 inventory slots which can be filled with Items which provide various benefits and abilities. To purchase these items, Gold is gained passively over time, by killing creeps, by killing enemy heroes and by destroying buildings.

Dota 2 has a heavy emphasis on tactics and team co-ordination, and a deep amount of strategy focused on building up strength as fast as possible, optimal itemization, and selecting what order to upgrade your hero’s spells.

IceFrog, the lead developer for the original Defense of the Ancients, was hired by Valve Software in 2009.

The beta began in 2010, officially ending in July 2013 just before The International 2013 when the Windows client was officially released to the public with a queue system to deal with high traffic. The Mac and Linux clients were released a week after the general release of the Windows client. Dota 2 runs on the Source 2 Engine and mimics some of the quirks that were present in the original DotA game in order to preserve gameplay.

Map [ edit ]

The Map is the playing field for all Dota 2 matches. It has two s > Radiant faction, and one for the Dire faction. To win, players must destroy the opposing side’s Ancient, an important building at the center of each team’s base. The map is represented in the interface by the minimap. It is also important to note that the game only contains one map by default, however, custom games can feature new, community created maps.

Heroes [ edit ]

Heroes are each unique characters within Dota 2. At the start of each game, two teams of five are randomly assigned to Radiant and Dire, then sides take turns selecting a Hero from the Hero Pool. Each player controls a single Hero and any units that hero controls, such as summoned units like Eidolons. The selection of these 10 heroes is commonly referred to as that match’s draft.

Heroes will gain experience when enemy units are killed nearby. They start the game at level one, and as they earn experience, they eventually level up, and each level grants more increases to the hero’s attributes and an ability point to spend on upgrading abilities or Talents.

In addition to a hero’s abilities, each hero has a melee or ranged attack which does an amount of damage based on the primary attribute: strength, agility, or intelligence.

Dota 2 has currently implemented 119 heroes. 112 of these heroes were based on heroes from DotA Allstars; and after porting all the DotA heroes, 7 more original heroes have been added.

Items are used to give Heroes additional various abilities, attack modifiers, bonus attributes, as well as secondary stats such as armor, attack speed, or improved regeneration of health or mana. 2. You cant just buy any type of boots on sf. Treads or Travels. Treads if your team is responsive and work together. Travels if your team has neutral camp fever and its your job to push out lanes.
3. You cant have both a right click and damage build.

Option 1 : Magic

-Brown boots-aquila-euls-blink-upgrade boots-bkb or other defensive item – octarine or some hex or whatever you want at this point that synergises with your magic build. Your talents should synergise with your magic build. Spell amp, move speed, 150 raze damage, 40% cd reduction.

Option 2: Physical

-brown boots-Aquila-threads – and whatever is necessary like shadow blade or you can go dragon lance straight. Get a drums tho ( not necessary but I like to do it).

-You buy bottle for an agi carry which is bad. You can easily get clarities and that component from euls that gives you mana. Shadow fiend dota 2 tips and tocks If you are going physical, get more clarities.

-Buy regen and mana items like mango clarities etc.

-Play on radiant if possible bec its where you can be most efficient. Raze clear at 45 and double stack med and hard camps closest to ur lane.

– bkb and defensive item is a must cause sf is a piece of shit that gets rekt.

Watch replays on sf. Whats most important is knowing what to do with the hero besides just playing it.

Sf magic is situational and hard so doing right click is more reliable

#1 Stop buying bottle, seriously clarity and tango/salve are better, you spent 660 gold for an item who give nothing but flat 80 health and mana
#2 Go power treads or just brown boots, sf benefits from tread switching like no others because of the raze, the tankiness and more attack speed
#3 For the talent the spell amp, and movement speed are just too good other talent are pretty situational, as for the lvl 25 it depends on the situation and your build, you decide it yourself
#4 Try to remember that on level 3,5, and 7 your power spike is absurd, abuse it to zone enemy midlaner.
#5 Swag fiend rewards and punish aggressive playstyle at the sametime be quick but also be careful with your decision
#6 Lost laning stage = Lost Shadow friend, just don’t get rekt by enemy midlaner, survive!

Probably pike is the majority of your problem (pike is a really situational item and the nerf to force staff makes it even worse (not enough damage, high mana cost).

You probably want to get an item which synergizes more with sf (blink/sb).

And on the early game, i suggest getting items that provides mana regen and stats at the same time, cause razes are your primary damage source in the early game.
(Aquilla, eul, drums(situational)).

It is very important for you to know when is your power spikes against your line up, so you can play more aggresively and not just sort of fall off because you jungle.

Personally : power treads, aquilla, wand is the way to go and buy some clarities if needed.

Well it’s good that u came for suggestions and criticism cuz u do need em. I’ll probably watch one of ur games and talk more in depth, but instead of focusing on UR way of playing imma tell u a part of the RIGHT way of playing him

So first off u level ur soul level1. You NEED TO practice sf in an empty lobby for the first 5 mins and get cs without using razes at all, over and over. Specially the first waves. U do it till u can do it without failing. Then u can proceed to d that in a real game where a competitor gets added

Secondly, sf wants to stay in lane for the first mins, then 2 things happen:
1) he wins the lane hard in a way enemy cant do shit if sf stays and he can deny and lh everything. Then u gotta keep staying in lane keeping the equilibrium and csing there not letting the guy get anything
2) the other guy is either able to compete on cs and deny or has more advantage. Then u double nuke the wave and go jungle and come back to lane and double raze the next wave and back to jungle and keep doing this pattern

Items are aquila > treads + 4 clarities or more > eul/blink or shadow blade or dragon lance or drums

Once u have ur euls/blink as magical or shadow blade as physical, u go gank a person near an enemy objective (99% it’s better if it’s either mid or enemy safelane). You kill him, take his tower, then keep farming and again with shadow blade (or . ) u kill a guy near another tower and take the tower (ofc if it’s safe).
U keep getting PICKOFFS (not fights) into objectives.
U take over enemy jungle most of the time unless u see them coming to kill u as 2-3-4-5 and they can, so u go back to a safer area. Shadow fiend dota 2 tips and tocks
U snowball this into a rosh, then all tier 2s, then u shove all lanes in their base while u farm all the map and 5 enemies farm 3 waves in their base. U get ur items, and the next rosh. U end the game

This is the ideal scenario. Which should happen pretty much most of the time in ur bracket

Now IF enemy has this core that has gotten out of control and they’re the ones dominating, u rat and splitpush a lane, force them to rotate there, walk back and farm the safe place near that lane (jungle, mostly enemy’s). If the enemy went all in on that lane u pushed with tps, u can tp out and push another lane, then farm ur way back to the lane u tped from (enemy safelane). U keep hanging around and farming near that lane so whenever enemy’s fighting or roshing or pushing, or showing themselves, u can push or shove the lane in and make them react to u. U keep making them react while they’re ahead, and u make space for u and ur team to farm. U keep doing this until enemy makes mistakes and u take towers, basically the enemy isnt doing anything with the advantage but running around chasing u. This will give u the basis for winning now when to take a fight, or pickoff, when not and stuff will make it a win or a loss

The video settings and launch options of Dota 2 can be optimized to increase your FPS and improve your gameplay.

On the web, you can find several configuration files to replace yours and boost the fps. Honestly, I don’t like this approach because I want to know exactly what I am changing, so I decided to review all the options in this article.

These adjustments are useful if you are struggling to reach an acceptable amount of fps as you are using a low-spec PC, but also if you have a monitor with a high refresh-rate as you bought it to gain an edge in a competitive game such as Dota 2.

In-game settings

Launch Dota 2, click the Settings icon on the top left, and open the Video tab. I will show you how to set up each option for maximum performance.

Resolution

Use my monitor’s current resolution: off.

I suggest using the advanced settings, but in some cases this option is helpful to solve bugs.

For example, I am currently using a 34 inches ultrawide monitor: the game doesn’t offer a 21:9 aspect ratio in the advanced settings, and my display resolution isn’t listed either.

In order to play Dota 2 with my monitor, I must select “Use my monitor’s current resolution” and also indicate my exact resolution (2560×1080) in the launch options with the following command: -w 2560 – h 1080.

Note: I didn’t have this issue in the past as my monitor resolution appeared correctly under “Size”.

Use advanced settings: on.

Aspect Ratio: use your native one.

It depends on your display, but nowadays the great majority of the monitors have a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Size: use your native resolution.

Using your native resolution is desirable for a better view, but if you badly need a performance boost, decreasing the resolution will greatly improve your fps. 720p is usually a solid compromise between quality and performance.

Display Mode: Full Screen.

Full Screen is the best choice performance-wise, but you might prefer Borderless Window if you have a multi-monitor setup and you wish to move quickly on another display.

Note: you can switch from Full Screen to Borderless Window by pressing Alt+Enter on the keyboard.

Options

Rendering API: DX11.

The available options are DX9, DX11, Vulkan, and OpenGL.

DX11 provides the best performance on most modern systems, but I recommend trying also DX9 on yours as the results may be different.

Vulkan is only slightly behind DX11. I believe this API might become the superior choice in the future as Valve drastically improved it in the past years.

OpenGL is the worst option. Do not use it.

Rendering

Use basic settings: off.

This slider is the simplest solution to tune down the graphic if you don’t know what are you doing, but I prefer selecting individually each option.

Many don’t know much about Niklas “Wagamama” Högström but those who come from the time of DotA 1 know how good of a player he is. Wagamama is notable as an analyst at The International but little do people know about how awesome his streams are. Though, he generally prefers to have mid position, Wagamama can also be found in different roles based over the requirements of the team. During his stream, he usually enlightens viewers with why he prefers one build over the other or what item should have the most effective outcome. If you are one of those guys who have trouble making mid-game decisions then you are gonna learn a lot from him. Wagamama has 7.5K+ MMR and if you want to raise yours he is your guy.

You might know him as the Kunkka spammer but there are a lot more heroes that he’s good at as well. Although, not part of any professional esports organization Mohammed “Attacker” Almheiri has been able to make the mark in the competitive scene as well. He is famous for his unorthodox builds and was the first one to reinvent an early team fight oriented build on Spectre.!Attacker is known to defy the odds and try out new things in a game. He passed the 8K MMR line despite not being a professional player. Currently, he sits at 7.8K MMR and is definitely a must watch for players who want to be good with Kunkka in almost any role.

Arteezy

Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, the guy you most notably know due to his jumping skills between Evil Geniuses and Team Secret is also among the best players in the world. He is the second player in the world to reach 9K MMR and is probably why he remains a strong entity in the professional scene. Arteezy’s stream has good music, good games and obviously a lot to learn from. Generally high MMR games mean that each and every one is going to play amazingly awesome. That however, doesn’t stop Arteezy from being better than the rest and is why he has a plethora of viewers watching his stream tirelessly.
