Biography [ edit ]

Before he played Dota 2, SingSing played StarCraft II, Heroes of Newerth, and DotA.

Dota 2 [ edit ]

SingSing started off by streaming early when he received early access to the Dota 2 Beta. Singsing dota 2 6 86 His often troll-oriented streaming got the attention of viewers and he became one of the most watched streamers. In December 2011 SingSing, along with his teammates in what used to be called “EBIN”, got picked up by mousesports, [1] quickly getting results by winning two events hosted by The GD Studio. After a roster changed, the team place 3rd in the West Qualifier for The International 2012. However MUFC was unable to attend the event due to last minute issues and mousesports took their second chance by beating World Elite in a last minute qualifier. [2] [3]

After The International 2012, it looked like SingSing would stay with mousesports for a long time. But in October 2012, it was announced that The GD Studio would sponsor the team’s trip to Star Ladder Finals after mousesports dec >[4] [5] SingSing then represented The GD B-Team for the tournament but it was made clear that this was a one time thing and the team would have to find a new sponsor. After briefly calling his team Zero, [6] SingSing left in early November 2012. On December 31, he announced a new team of his. [7] On February 1st, QPAD’s Facebook announced a new team, the QPAD Dragons (later changed to Red Pandas), containing both SingSing and Wagamama as core members. [8]

Shortly after The International 2013 he joined Kaipi, who he previously played for as a stand-in. [9]

Kaipi was picked up by the international organization RattleSnake and formed RattleSnake. int. [10] The team was later renamed to Speed Gaming, to give it a more sol >[11] Following issues with their manager, the team left to join the Cloud9 organization. [12] On August 13th, 2014, SingSing left Cloud9 to join a new team, [13] while playing for Team Tinker for i-league. [14] Following a string of disappointing results, SingSing departed Team Tinker in February of 2015. [15] He went on to form a new team, Burden United, to participate in the ESL One Frankfurt 2015 qualifiers. [16] After failing to qualify for The International 2015, Burden United disbanded and SingSing was left teamless. [17] Singsing returned to his former team Kaipi on 14th March 2016.

After falling short in the Boston Major American Open Qualifers, SingSing announced his retirement during an interview, where he cited that the open qualifiers would be his last tournament. [18]

After his retirement as a professional Dota player, SingSing focused back on streaming, where he had entered a partnership with Cloud9 in January 2016. [19] [20]

The Wildcard Teams of TI6

Eighteen teams will attend TI6, but only sixteen will compete in the main event. Valve switched to a wild card format at TI5 last year, where four teams played in a double elimination bracket for the final two spots. The change in format also established that no teams would be eliminated during the group stage. A win in the wild card rounds meant at least a guarantee to a main stage appearance.

These were teams who finished right below the cutoff for qualified teams—not good enough to guarantee a spot, but good enough to earn an appearance in Seattle. Yet despite this status as “second tier” teams, last year the wild card teams provided some of the most exciting games throughout the event. CDEC, wildcard qualifier, rampaged through the main event to their 2nd place finish, while the other wildcard team, MVP. Phoenix, finished in 7th-8th place. You can’t have an upset without an underdog.

For TI6, this year’s four wild card teams—Execration, compLexity Gaming, Escape Gaming, EHOME—also have the same potential (some more than others). Both EHOME and compLexity return to improve from their performances at last year’s TI5. Escape Gaming houses TI vets Era, qojqva, and synderen. And while Execration is poised to be one of TI’s weaker teams, they still remain a threat, as shown by their first place, tying performance during SEA’s main qualifiers.

EU Wildcard – Escape Gaming

Escape Gaming, formerly known as No Diggity, was founded only four months ago, but it houses quite a few Dota veterans. Dota fans will be more familiar to syndereN’s voice than his gameplay, as he has been more consistently a premier caster at TIs than a player. As the captain of Escape gaming, he has since transitioned into the support 5 role, leveraging the experience he had as a caster from observing and analyzing games on a macro scale.

Escape and Alliance gave fans with one of the most entertaining games of the qualifiers. It was an anti-climactic finish, with a Throne rush that shortcut the raxes, but it capped an end to the rollercoaster frenzy before it. Akke showcased a textbook game on how to use Nether Swap against Chronosphere, while Yapzor on his Rubick did the same. What was promising was that despite qojqva’s hiatus from Dota, he hasn’t lost a step as the mechanically gifted mid player he was before. Era will also be welcomed back at TI, after a roster controversy with his old team Fnatic that may have had a part in the roster lock laws we have today. KhezZu is one of many former HoN pros in the scene and is viewed by many analysts and pro players as the next superstar on the offlane.

China Wildcard – EHOME

EHOME, EHOME, EHOME. They’re an organization that has been around since the birth of Dota. Ti5 dota 2 standings for nfl Their manager and coach, 71, has a pedigree that dates back to the same time. The current team now looks like a mishmash of the former Vici Gaming (iceiceice and fenrir) and last year’s EHOME.

Some of the highest level Dota of the qualifiers was played in the series between VG. R and EHOME. Draft, late-game execution, and a clear strategy on objectives during the game. Throughout the qualifiers, EHOME seemed to have a fair grip on a TI6 slot. They tied at the top of their group, then lost to Wings in a best of one. They beat VG. R in the best of three winner’s finals, then lost in the 5th match of the grand finals.

EHOME will be pitted as one of the favorites to come out of the wildcard stage. They’re consistent, in typical Chinese fashion, but they’re also open to out of the box ideas. LaNm has found quite a bit of success in support Kunnka. Ti5 dota 2 standings for nfl Iceiceice and LanM are in the exclusive club of players who have played in all six Internationals. Add Fenrir in and all three players have had top five finishes in the past two Internationals. They’ll be bringing this cumulative experience into the wildcard stage.

SEA Wildcard – Execration. 安博电竞

Execration has the potential to be last year’s Team Archon, a wildcard team that flamed out early, winning only one game. Out of the wildcard teams, Execration may be the team more prone to unorthodox strategies and picking out of the meta—Medusa, Naga Siren, Weaver, and Meepo, to name a few. If their games aren’t competitive, at least they’ll be interesting.

During the qualifiers they were able to pull a game off Fnatic in the round robin, and they ended up in a three way tie at the top of the group, before losing to both Fnatic and TNC. Nonetheless, Execration will be the first all-Filipino team at an International [edit: Mineski at TI1 was the first]. Their current position is a consequence of expanding the number of available qualifier slots for this year’s TI. This kind of LAN experience, at the highest skill level, is a rare opportunity–one to improve, one to take home a slice of a record-breaking prize pool, and one that wouldn’t exist for SEA, if Valve were to have qualifiers for the best teams, rather than the best teams from each region. The LAN experience will also be a stark reprieve from playing in a region that is still connecting to the internet via dial-up.

NA Wildcard – compLexity Gaming

Brothers swindlezz and Zfreek are the only remaining members from last year’s TI5 squad. Gone are Fly and Moon (off to OG) and Zyzz (to Leviathan), but this current iteration of compLexity still remains as one of the most consistently competitive teams in North America. Ti5 dota 2 standings for nfl This is truer when considering the volatile nature of Dota, whether it’s the meta or team rosters, which continually shuffles the power rankings of teams. It’s a testament to the leadership of swindlezz and Zfreek to be able to keep the ship upright amidst the change.

One interesting dynamic will be how other regions will deal with compLexity and Zfreek’s Earth Spirit. Earth Spirit was an automatic first phase ban against compLexity, where during the qualifiers they won 7 out of 8 games when they were allowed to pick him. However, the hero hasn’t performed as well during other region’s qualifiers. He is contested in all other regions, but has underperformed overall—41.38% win rate in Europe and 34.62% win rate in China. Ti5 dota 2 standings for nfl

CompLexity has managed to stay on the cusp of relevancy, qualifying and competing at the Manila and Shanghai Majors (5th-6th), and ESL One Frankfurt and Manila. Ti5 dota 2 standings for nfl They might have found more success, if it weren’t for their kryptonite, team Digital Chaos. Head to head, compLexity has lost their last six series against DC over the last month, including the best of five to seal a TI6 slot.

CompLexity lost in heartbreaking fashion, but it’s framed by the heart they bring to the game. Swindlezz is their vocal and emotive leader, who ritually huddles with his teammates before the draft, like a basketball team before charging into the arena. Ti5 dota 2 standings for nfl Their losses in the qualifiers were plagued with mental mistakes, partially from fatigue and also just pure error, but these are the kind that can be improved on in the coming weeks.

TI9: The most picked and banned heroes of the Group Stage

Expect to see a lot more of Elder Titan and Shadow Demon in the Main Event.

With the Group Stage of The International 2019 (TI9) over, we now have an idea of what the metagame will be for the Main Event thanks to the trend of hero picks and bans throughout the preliminary stage of the tournament.

Join us as we dive into the heroes of the TI9 Group Stage and why teams have chosen to either pick or ban them in their drafts.

Credit: The International Twitch Stream A

Most Picked: Elder Titan

Elder Titan appeared in the most games throughout the Group Stages, being picked a total of 54 times and sporting a decent 57.41% win rate. The hero has been played on both support positions, largely thanks to a skillset that has a high-impact throughout a game regardless of whether he gets a lot of items or not.

His Astral Spirit is very strong early game, as it allows him to harass opponents while buffing himself to effectively trade hits or even right-click enemies to death. Comboing Astral Spirit with Echo Stomp also gives him a very long range of initiation, which also makes him very effective in controlling Roshan especially when used in unison with his ultimate, Split Earth. His passive, Natural Order, reducing the armor and magic resistance of enemies is the icing on top.

Ogre Magi and Shadow Demon have also been popular choices among teams, with being picked a total of 51 times. Ogre Magi is tanky, has good stun and damage abilities, and can even buff his carry, while Shadow Demon is a solid support that can dish out a lot of damage alongside save and initiation abilities.

Gyrocopter (40), Tiny (39), Ember Spirit (36), Leshrac (36), Sand King (35), Kunkka (35), and Mirana (33) round out the rest of the top 10 most picked heroes.

Credit: The International Stream D

Most Banned: Alchemist, Enchantress

Teams seem to not want to have Alchemist and Enchantress in their games, as the two have been the most banned heroes so far with 99 apiece — over 20 times more than the third most-banned hero. The two have only managed to sneak through the draft 27 and 24 times respectively, with both having win rates hovering just below 60% to prove their worth.

While Alchemist has always been one of the best farming heroes in the game, he hasn’t always been the most capable carry in teamfights and tends to get outclassed if the game goes longer after he peaks. Players seem to have solved that problem by foregoing the Radiance-Manta-Octarine farm/splitpush-focused build of the past for a more fight-ready itemization with Radiance, Blink Dagger, Black King Bar, and Skull Basher into Abyssal Blade.

Enchantress provides a lot of damage thanks to her Impetus ultimate, while Untouchable and Nature’s Attendants make her deceptively tanky. Teams have largely picked her as an offlaner that can push the opposing carry out of the lane once she hits level 6 or as a position-4 that can also act as a core once she gets items.

Mirana (74), Shadow Demon (66), Chen (62), Kunkka (61), Leshrac (60), Magnus (56), Lifestealer (51), and Ogre Magi (50) comprise the rest of the top 10 most banned heroes.

A quick guide that runs you through the process of running the Dota performance test to help you understand what you might need to do to make the game run better on your system.

  • The console is where you will need to enter all the performance test related commands.
  • The console is also the window where all kinds of technical information related to the game will be displayed.
  • Every time you run a performance test, the game will close down the console and then reopen it when the performance is completed.
  • Each test will produce FPS results in the console. You can type ‘clear‘ in the console to remove previous results.
  • Alternatively you can Right Click > Save Log if you are using vconsole or use the ‘condump‘ command to save the current text in the console to a text file outs >

Now it’s time to run some performance tests. But before we begin .

  • The below mentioned scenarios are ‘examples‘ for running a performance test. If you want to run the test in a different situation, then feel free to do so. However, if you use a different scenario from the ones given below, then just mention it when you are submitting you performance test results.
  • Performance test runs some commands that are marked as cheats. So it is important to enable cheats on your lobbies for the test to run properly.

Let’s Begin!!

  • Start a ‘Hero Demo‘ of any hero you like.
  • Click on the arrow on the side bar to close the Demo Options panel in the demo.
  • Level up any skill to make sure the + icon disappears.
  • Pause the game.
  • Open the console. (Default hotkey: `)
  • Enter ‘exec_async perftest‘ to run the test.
  • You can Right Click > Save Log if you are using vconsole or use condump command mentioned above to save your test results in a text file.

  • Start a ‘Bot Game‘ from the Play Dota Menu.
  • Open the console and enter ‘sv_cheats 1‘ to enable cheats. Then close console.
  • Pick a hero and level up any skill to make sure the + icon disappears.
  • Run your hero to the center of the map (in the river between mid T1 towers) and wait for creeps to begin fighting.
  • Pause the game.
  • Open the console. (Default hotkey: `)
  • Enter ‘exec_async perftest‘ to run the test.
  • You can Right Click > Save Log if you are using vconsole or use condump command mentioned above to save your test results in a text file.

  • Create a ‘New Lobby‘ from the Play Dota Menu.
  • Before you load in to the game, make sure that “Enable Cheats” is turned on in your lobby settings.
  • Also make sure that option to Fill Bots in Empty Slots is turned on and that you are the only player in the lobby. Then start the game.

These are just three default scenarios where you can run the tests in. You can also run the tests in any other scenario. But be sure to note down the details of your scenario to better understand your results.

Once the test results are out, it is important to understand what they are so you can tweak your game accordingly to try and get better performance on your system.

Note: Remember that the test gives you an idea of how the game is running on your system but might not necessarily pin point what is causing your performance to go down.

  • First and foremost, check the Command Line part of your test results to see if there are any launch commands you do not wish to use. If there are, feel free to remove them.
  • Secondly, make sure that the Render System is what you want it to be. DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan or etc..
  • Thirdly, check if the Driver Name shows the GPU that you intend the game to run it on. If it isn’t, go to your GPU settings and allow Dota 2 to run on your graphics card. It is important to let your dedicated graphics GPU run Dota 2 for best performance.
  • Fourthly, Windows DVR feature is known to cause issues with many games including Dota 2. Turn it off if you haven’t already.
  • Lastly, Network Information is a great feature but it does come at a slight performance cost. If you are facing serious performance issues, try to turn it off if you don’t use it regularly.

You can try to identify your problems further by comparing results from Local Bot Games and Network Bot Games.

If you experience an issue in your network game, try watching a Replay of the moment you experience performance loss.

  • If the issue remains even while watching the replay, then it is a performance related issue.
  • If the issues does not remain when watching the replay, then you are most likely facing an issue with how your network is configured rather than the game itself. So you might want to look at solutions on the networking end to resolve your issue.

Replays are a great way to run performance tests and compare results as you can run tests on the same scenario using different settings.

You can turn off particular settings and run tests at the same time in a replay to see if that particular setting is causing your FPS to drop significantly.

The Dota 2 Performance Tests do not monitor your system conditions such as the GPU and CPU temperatures, fan speeds and etc. So if you have a system that may throttle due to heating during the execution of the tests might affect the results.

Additionally, any other setting (such as power profiles, system configurations) on your PC that might affect resources available for Dota will not be reflected in the results. These are solutions you will have to look outside of Dota. Dota 2 performance bar explanation

  • If you have manually increased the number of chat lines using dota_hud_chat_history_lines — then you are likely to face some FPS drop.

If you’ve done everything correctly, you should get a report log that has information like mentioned below.

The following data are select lines from the testing and NOT the entire result.

Ulfsaar, the Ursa Warrior (or simply Ursa), is a melee agility hero whose abilities’ main focus is the increase of attack damage, allowing for some of the most impressive sustained damage in the entire game.

He specializes in increasing damage against one target. His abilities allow him to attack with almost maximum speed and gain bonus damage with each consecutive hit on a single target. With the abilities Overpower and Fury Swipes, Ursa can often savage beefy targets for as much as 700 damage per hit. He is a ferocious jungler and straightforward attacker, able to solo even Roshan at low levels if he has lifesteal. Ursa is a carry who can snowball if he is farmed, but the array of anti-melee abilities existing even by the early game and his lack of any counterspells may cripple his potential, especially as strong nukers and heroes with the ability to evade him make him a hero reliant on spellcasters on his team. Although an agility hero, Ursa’s base strength and strength gain make him very durable.

    • This means that the bonus damage is applied even with the first attack.
  • The bonus damage is dealt in one instance together with the attack damage, and counts as attack damage as well.

    • Attacks during Enrage still add only 1 stack. Enrage merely multiplies the damage values of Fury Swipes by 1.4/1.7/2.

    • Magic Stick combines with earlier Iron Branches to make a Magic Wand .
    • Wind Lace if the enemy laner has more movement speed than Ursa, this gives him enough movement speed to continue chasing them down.
    • Ring of Basilius is a useful item to keep Ursa’s mana issues at bay. It can also be built into a Vladmir’s Offering , which is definitely a viable option for Ursa. Ursa dota 2 purge
    • Orb of Venom puts another slow in Ursa’s arsenal, giving more chasing power.
    • Morbid Mask naturally synergizes well with Ursa’s high physical damage, greatly increasing his staying power on the map. It also gives him a tool to take on Roshan.
    • Phase Boots prov >Magic Wand may be useful to supplement Ursa’s poor mana pool and save him from bad situations.
    • Vladmir’s Offering or other sources of lifesteal are key to Ursa’s success and his workings as a hero. Lifesteal allows him to take Roshan with ease and keep his current health high. Also lifesteal work with Fury Swipes, so Ursa can devastate any enemy by leeching a lot of health when some Fury Swipes are already placed.
    • Blink Dagger is used for picking off heroes or initiating fights as it gives Ursa the option to pounce on an enemy hero with Earthshock and rap >Black King Bar protects Ursa against disables, so he can keep hitting the enemies at close range.

Top 10 Dota 2 Carry Heroes in 2018

With Valve just recently releasing its Dota 2 Update 7.18, a number of changes made their way into the making. This includes everything from hero/item alternations to a complete change of the game’s Meta. Top ten op dota 2 heroes guide This means everything we know about the game has changed in some way or the other. so, to better educate our readers of the current Carry heroes of the Meta, we are here with a list of the 10 best Dota 2 Carry Heroes of 2018.

Dota 2 Carry Heroes

The Meta for Dota 2 has changed and we are already seeing some new faces making their mark in the current Meta. Top ten op dota 2 heroes guide However, with Icefrog’s effort to balance the game, he made various changes that completely nerfed some of the most picked heroes while bringing up some that we weren’t used to in a very long time. So, without taking any more of your time, here are the 10 best Carry Heroes in the year 2018.

1. Ursa

Ursa is one of the most popular choices for the role of Carry in the current Dota 2 Meta. Top ten op dota 2 heroes guide This is due to the recent love the developers have shown to the agility based hero. This combined with his extremely powerful, yet tanky abilities make him a true beast in the game.

2. Spectre

Spectre has been a hero which was a consistent pick even before patch 7.19. Though, after the update tides favored Spectre even more. Her desolate has been buffed up giving Spectre more ease in farming, as well as her updated Dispersion, has given her enhanced tankability during team fights.

3. Terrorblade

Terrorblade finally got his place back in competitive Dota 2 with the recent patches. Immediately after, we saw teams picking up the split push carry to their advantage. Terrorblade’s farming, mobility build that professional players tend to make on this hero has allowed him to fit in many situations.

4. Anti-Mage

Well, one cannot just ignore Magina from the competitive scene no matter what. Anti Mage has been a life saver for many professional teams who consider this hero their last resort in times of need. No matter the changes to the Meta, you will still see Anti Mage being picked up by professional teams every no own then.

5. Phantom Lancer

The place of both Phantom Lancer and Anti-Mage is relatively the same. Phantom lancer slightly wins during the current Meta because of his farming abilities as well as his input from early game. Though professional players tend to favor the hero more for split pushing it certainly doesn’t mean Phantom lancer isn’t good in team fights.

6. Gyrocopter

Though there were slight nerfs to the hero, Gyrocopter still remains a solid pick in the competitive scene. The AOE damage burst and lock down abilities of Gyrocopter make him a favorable pick in many matches. Plus, his incredible ability to quickly finish off lanes, and heroes make him a true contender in the fight for the best Dota 2 Carry.

7. Ember Spirit

A hero that is favored in both mid and carry role, Ember Spirit’s snowball mechanics are so good that no team wants to let go it to others. Ember Spirit is a greatly contested hero in professional matches who will either be picked or get banned in the drafting stage. Almost every team is good with Ember Spirit on their side and therefore the hero is expected to be heavily contested in the future as well.

8. Alchemist

Ever since the update, Alchemist has been revived from the dead. The new build on Alchemist is working wonders in the professional scene and the hero is getting contested more than ever. VG’s Super is trying to get his hands on the hero whenever possible. Alchemist is definitely going to be one of those heroes you will be seeing at The International 2018.

9. Shadow Fiend

Shadow Fiend is among those heroes that have great potential to come back from gold deficit really really fast. Even if Shadow Fiend does not have a good lane stage with a little bit of support and creep stacks Shadow Fiend can be up and running in no time. Being able to take both mid and carry positions the hero has become a necessity in the current Meta. Top ten op dota 2 heroes guide

10. Faceless Void

Faceless Void has been one of the most consistent picks in Dota 2. However, this agility based character receiving some serious nerfs in the past, the pro scene Meta kicked him out. Well, with patch 7.19, things are looking good for Faceless as more and more players are looking to add him into their drafts. it is because of this newfound love, we thing Faceless Void is going to wreck havoc in the upcoming The International 2018 tournament.

That is it for now, but stay tuned as we going to be bringing you more guides likes this in the coming days. So while you wait for that too happen, comment below and let us know what you think of the guide above. Dota 2 6 82 ward

Dota 2 6 82 ward

Dota 2 6 82 ward

A basic gu > by theScore Staff Mar 1 2017

Dota 2 is a complex game that takes years of practice to understand, let alone master. And if there’s any topic that confuses newcomers more than anything else, it’s warding.

Wards are items that provide vision to a wide area, allowing you and your team to keep watch over areas of the map and spy on the enemy team. They come in two flavors, Observer Wards and Sentry Wards, each providing their own advantages. They’re simple to use, but difficult to properly utilize.

Warding is an integral part to winning in Dota 2. Knowing where to place your wards and de-warding the enemies’ wards are common tactics that players, particularly those that play support, should know. That does not mean that wards are relegated solely to the support role, as mid and offlaners should themselves use wards to set up ambushes and to block enemy jungle camps.

Observer and Sentry Wards

Observer Wards are items purchased at the Main Shop that create an invisible ward that provides a large sight range. Unlike Sentry Wards, Observer Wards do not provide True Sight, meaning invisible enemies can travel right under their path undetected. Two Observer Wards are purchasable at the start of the game, with more becoming slowly available as time goes on.

Sentry Wards are items purchasable at the Main Shop that create an invisible ward that only provides temporary natural vision, but are capable of detecting enemy units with True Sight. Their primary use, however, is to detect enemy wards so that they can be destroyed, making them pivotal items in your efforts to de-ward the enemy.

Ward Hills

In an effort to help new players learn how to properly ward, Valve introduced Ward Hills to the game. These hills are scattered throughout the Radiant and Dire jungle and are primarily identified by the eye symbol located on top. They existed before 7.00, but their positions have shifted with the new update, changing what they provide vision of as well.

If you’re new to warding, ward hills are a solid marker that can be used to maximize the effect of wards. That said, they are also the most common locations for opponents to de-ward, so try not to rely on them too much.

Radiant

The first ward hill, located in the secondary radiant jungle, provides vision of the Radiant’s Secret Shop, the new shrine, as well as the lane near the offlane T1 tower.

Located just to the south of the offlane T2 tower, this ward hill provides vision of the left most Radiant camp, the nearby rune spot and the jungle next to the T2 mid tower.

Moving to the Radiant’s primary jungle, the left most ward hill continues to grant vision to the two camps on the left along with the camp to the right of the ward hill.

Moving east, the newest ward hill for Radiant provides vision over the southern rune spot and the new shrine.

Moving back to the secondary jungle, the Radiant’s last ward hill grants vision over both neutral camps, the two rune spots and the entrance to Roshan’s pit.

Dire

Starting in the Dire’s secondary jungle, the ward hill close to the offlane T1 tower grants vision of the Secret Shop, the new shrine and the neutral camp.

The second ward hill in the secondary jungle, located near the offlane T2 tower, provides vision of the nearby neutral camp as well as some of the jungle. None of the secondary jungle ward hills for Dire grant vision of that jungle’s rune spot.

In the Dire primary jungle, the ward hill closest to the Roshan pit only provides some vision of the pit itself, but provides much better coverage of the stairs north of the pit, the northern river rune and two neutral camps to the north.

The final Dire ward hill is unchanged from pre-7.00, providing vision of the neutral camp to the south in addition of much of the Dire jungle.

Welcome to the Jungle – Basic Tips for Warding

While ward hills are great for newcomers, they are not the be-all-end-all of warding. Wards can be placed anywhere on the map, resulting in a huge number of ward spots to keep track of and utilize.

But before you place a ward, there are a few questions that you should keep in mind:

  • Is there anything blocking the ward’s vision?
  • How much vision does this ward provide?
  • Does the ward’s vision cover important objectives, such as Shrines, runes or camps?
  • Is the ward in an obvious location for enemies to de-ward?

Of course, not every ward needs to cover an objective in order for it to be useful. Take the ward placed below, which covers the river entrance near the Radiant’s offlane T1 tower.

While this ward does not cover an objective, it does provide extensive vision of the river, allowing you to see roaming supports and other heroes looking to enter the lane. For the Dire, it is easy to place without being detected, and serves as a valuable location in defending against early game aggression.

But warding should also not be used solely as a defense mechanism. In the image below, the Dire observer ward is placed deep in the Radiant primary jungle, where it oversees two neutral camps.

In this location, the ward will allow your team to keep track of any hero that is attempting to take the two camps for farm. As a late game ward, it will also keep track of any heroes that attempt to skirt around the mid lane to fight in the jungle.

Warding Roshan

With new map changes comes a new Roshan spot, and with a new Roshan spot comes new ways to ward it. Two ward hills, one in the Radiant jungle and the other in the Dire jungle, provide adequate vision of Roshan’s pit, but there are other spots that provide better vision that are not located in as obvious positions.

While the nearby Radiant Ward Hill does provide vision of the river rune, placing a ward in this location provides a much better view of the entrance to the pit itself, allowing you to see the enemy approaching it from a fair distance away.

A much better location to ward Roshan is on the Dire side, just behind the pillar north of the stairs near Roshan. It has clear views of the pit and the rune spawn, and is not a place that is normally checked when the enemy team de-wards around the pit.

Dota 2 7.20 update: Pull and Stack timings – Map changes

The Pull and Stack timings updated to the 7.20 map! A summary of the main changes to towers, runes, lanes, primary and secondary jungle, and Roshan pit.

All the analyses, articles, and statistics on the 7.20 update:

In the following days and weeks, I will publish several articles on the 7.20 update. Stay tuned as I will cover most aspects of the game, general and specific game changes, new and old items, most popular heroes in pub and pro games, and more.

Pull and Stack timings 7.20

Note: 7.21 replaced the primary jungles’ ancient camps with big camps. The rest of the map is unchanged.

Credit to jerseydevilz who gathered the data displayed on the map about the Pull and Stack timings, and to @wykrhm who shared the high quality images of the 7.19 and 7.20 Dota 2 maps.

A summary of the map changes

I will have a look at the main areas of the map and explain how the changes will affect our gameplay.

I took pictures of the locations featured in this article using the standard terrain as most players are acquainted to it. Still, I suggest heading into the game and creating a private lobby to explore the map while reading the explanation.

Map themes: no symmetry and big plateaus

The two sides of the Dota 2 map have never been perfectly symmetrical, but in this patch in particular the differences between Radiant and Dire increased.

In both main jungles there is a big plateau that goes from the safe to the mid lane. If you team is able to maintain the control on this high ground area, all movements from a lane to another are faster and less dangerous.

Towers

Safe lane

Tier 1

There are no changes both on the Radiant and the Dire side, but the Radiant supports are extremely favored on pulling and stacking creeps.

This task is easy for the Radiants as now the neutral camps are next to each other – it is basically impossible to miss the pull timing.

Instead, on the Dire side the distance between the camps increased, which makes this job a lot more difficult and easier to counter.

Tier 2

Defending the tier 2 towers is immensely harder if compared to the previous patches.

Radiant

Maintaining the control of the high ground next to the tower is crucial.

There are several trees the attackers can use for cover.

The Dire team can flank easily the defenders near the tower via the stairs on the left.

The jungle area at the bottom of the tower is unchanged. It doesn’t provide a lot of space for jukes and movements.

Dire

Also in this case, the high ground area is fundamental, and it facilitates the job of the attackers who can easily flank the defenders.

There are several trees on the high ground that can be exploited to reach the ideal positions without being spotted by the tower.

The jungle area at the top of the tower is large. Overall, it helps the defenders who have a safe space under the protection of the tower.

Off lane

Tier 1

On the Radiant side, the area around the tower is pretty much the same.

It is very difficult to gank the Dire tower. There are fewer trees to hide your presence, so you can’t approach it without being spotted.

If the Radiants try using the stairs next to the tier 2 tower, the chances of success are very poor because they will move near the edge of the tower vision range.

Tier 2

Both the towers are easier to siege due to the bigger high grounds next to them. In particular, I believe the Dire side is the most disadvantaged after the 7.20 changes.

Note: In the radiant jungle (the secondary one) you can farm two neutral camps at a time, but the Dire one is the real paradise for farmers because once again they can stack and farm all the three jungle camps simultaneously.

Mid lane

Tier 1

Nothing to note for the Dire tower.

There is a new possible ganking path on the left side of the tower – I have showed it in the images above. You can move unseen from the river to the tower by cutting a single tree (images 1 to 3).

On the bright side, the Radiants have a quick route to the medium camp (image 4). All the mid heroes able to farm the jungle will surely use it to acquire extra gold.

Tier 2

The Radiant tower has been slightly moved on the right; now there is almost no unprotected space between the tier 2 and the tier 3 towers.

Roshan pit

There are no changes to the Roshan pit.

It is important to point out that the Scan tool no longer ignores units in the Roshan pit, which will impact the gameplay.

The secondary Radiant jungle has been completely reworked. Now, there are several paths, while before you were forced to follow strict routes. These changes favorite gank actions (we will have more battles on this section of the map), but also opened a direct path from the Shrine to the Roshan Pit.

Runes

Overall, the Dire side has a remarkable advantage on the runes.

Top rune

This rune is placed on a very weird spot – in short, it is a trap.

Trying to approach it via the river is literally a suicide because it is surrounded by high grounds. If the Radiants want to steal it, they must at least secure the control of the high ground on the left side of the rune.

Bottom rune

Once again, advancing via the river without vision on the high ground is a terrible idea. Dota 2 image mechanics Before, the Radiants could approach it from the right side, but now there are fewer trees, so the tower guards this passage.

Radiant

Top Rune

The tower is at a certain distance, so the Dire team can access it via the left route without risking too much.

Bottom rune

It is the easiest rune to contest. There is just a single plateau, so the Dires can safely reach it from the lane and even hide among the trees next to it.

Root dota 2 roster changes

Root dota 2 roster changes

Root dota 2 roster changes

This may seem clear well of course DotA 2 is harder it known for being a Hardcore game

But if it really have you ever thought about it
(BTW this is not harder to learn this is harder to play)

I will go through what I think for no good reason you can read if you like

1. Farming: Well this one we should all know it harder to farm in DotA 2. Reasons for this not only can you farm your creeps but so can your opponent and you can farm your own creeps to stop his. In LoL terms like having 2 waves a creeps and fighting over them with a teammate the whole time laning. Harder is DotA 2.

2. Harassment or Poke. In DotA 2 it is really hard to harass or poke someone down without risk to yourself. Much of this has to do with the limited mana pool/low regen. So DotA 2 is harder you might think WRONG. Because of this there is much less Harassment in DotA 2 where in League spells will be spammed so you must avoid much more in Lane as you are farming. League is a Harder.
OR you can think of this this way easyer to do harder to deal with making the gamer Harder on the whole.

3. BRUST: Being 100 to 0 is much easyer to do in DotA 2 right. So you think DotA 2 be harder But it is not. Because the burst in League is less effective it makes it much more hard to get those kills you wanna get. In League you have to be smarter with it to now get counter engages or just stopped in your tracks by a good barrier or shield. You don’t want a 5v5 fight on an assassin in league if all your spells are on CD. LoL is Harder.

4. Timers. This one is a fun one. Dragon Timers, Buff Timers, Baron Timers. All that is basically nonexistent in DotA 2. Ok now I will explain Every timer in LoL is based on when you killed they creature this allows you to keep track on when it respond. Of course if you saw never saw it get taken out you do not know when it will respond in theory. Dragon and Baron do show in chat if you have vision is helpful. In DotA Roshan does have a timer like that but its random from 8 to 11 mins that weird. Everything else in DotA 2 is on a fixed timer Runes and creeps so there is no thinking about it. Clear winner LoL as Harder.

5. Map awareness. Both games have a mini map so equal. No I not saying that. LoL has more ward but they only last a limited amount of time DotA 2 has less was but wards last longer. LoL requires more map awareness cause LoL often has hidden in the jungle on top of that big creeps need to be watched more if you have no timer. LoL is harder but the skill is the same.

6. CC: Why is it 6 no reason. CC is bigger and more big and more powerful in DotA 2. CC is smaller less powerful and there are possible ways to get out of it in LoL. I would have to CC is hard in LoL.

7. Item Shop/Items: This one is vary important items create power power allows you to win. Here I do think LoL is harder. Once you leave your base your out there with whatever you have sure you could recall but then your opponent can take a turret a dragon or just fight an advantages fight. In DotA 2 you can get items via courier or even just a near by shop. League’s Use of the Item Shop is harder to do and item dependence well out in there fighting is important to keep track of your opponents and your current items.

8. Skill Timers. Barely a factor in DotA 2 cause you rarely spam skills. Harder in League.

9. Item Power: Harder in League because of more stats to track.

10. TeamPlay: That right nether games has an in solo queue. Harder in LoL cause it harder to carry solo and win 1v5 fights.
