DJ’s first roots of DotA began in his first year of high school when his >[1] The team was based in Marikina, where he used to play with Ryo and Soniq at IT Log Park a lot, until one day Soniq invited DJ join his team for a local competitive match. [2]

Dota 2 [ edit ]

With Dota 2 being launched, many players along with DJ transitioned into Dota 2. With Valve making a partnership with Nexon, the scene saw a South Korean server and a 1.7 million USD league established in 2013. [3] After it was revealed that his current team-mate at that time, Cast was invited to help a newly formed Korean team EoT Hammer and saw that there were roster issues, DJ saw this as an opportunity and seized it so he can further continue his dream of playing DotA as a professional player. He joined EoT Hammer in November 2013 and moved to South Korea the following month. Adapting to South Korea and their culture was difficult, along with the search for a sponsor as his income was only from his winnings. EOT Hammer managed to place fourth in Nexon Sponsorship League Season 2 and runner-up to Zephyr in Nexon Sponsorship League Season 3. On May 4 2014, EOT Hammer went under a new name called Rave, and DJ along with most of its members continued their run under this label. DJ played either the mid or offlane depending on Cast’s decision, the captain & drafter at the time. His first offline tournament under Rave saw them at the semi-finals of I-league Season 1 and 4th place at MSI BEAT IT 2014.

Their achievements and form over the new year saw them invited by Valve to their first marquee event bes >[4] However, after the tournament, Rave saw a drop in form and failed to win qualifying matches, most importantly coming short in the The International 2015 South East Asian Qualifers, and on June 16, 2015 DJ chose to leave Rave to not drag the team down any further and had plans of making a new team. [5] On the 19th June 2015, it was announced that he would be joining MSI-Evolution Gaming Team, but this proved to be short lived.

During the post-TI5 shuffle, it was announced on the 26th of August that Fnatic acquired DJ for their team. DJ, happy with the pickup, replied: “Coming from Korea to the Philippines and then to Malaysia, I am no stranger to living abroad now. I think joining Fnatic is a very good opportunity for me to prove myself and I am extremely thankful I was given the chance to do so. Hopefully, I can represent Philippines on an international stage once again! #fnaticpinoypr >[6] In September he was awarded player of the month by Mineski [2] Despite a rough start from the second half of 2015, DJ began to show his influence as a support on the international stage during m >[7] and later finishing third place in the Starladder i-League StarSeries S2. After finishing fourth place at The International 2016, he departed Fnatic. [8] During the transfer period after TI6, he played with Execration as an unofficial player and won the MPGL Southeast Asian Championship. He later joined Execration as an offical player. [9]

Attack Speed

Attack Speed is a measure of how fast a hero is able to attack. The attack speed of a hero is set by their base attack time (BAT) and their increased attack speed (IAS).

IAS can be increased by using abilities, passives, auras, items, and agility. Each point of agility will increase IAS by one. IAS can have a maximum value of 600 and a minimum value of 20. Units have 100 attack speed by default, which is altered by BAT. 600 attack speed is 6 times faster than default (BAT ÷ 6), and 20 attack speed is 5 times slower than default (BAT ÷ 0.2).

Attack Speed Formula [ edit ]

Using a hero’s BAT and IAS, their attack speed (length of time it takes to attack) is calculated using this formula:

Base Attack Time ÷ (1 + (Increased Attack Speed ÷ 100)) = Attack Speed

In the formula above, the IAS after calculations, which is the final value BAT gets divided by, has a maximum of 6 and a minimum of 0.2. Any values exceeding the maximum or below the minimum are rounded to the nearest acceptable threshold. This means that any value above 6 would be lowered to 6 and any value less than 0.2 would be raised to 0.2.

Example using Windranger with no items at level 1:

In the example above it takes 1.28 seconds to attack.

Base Attack Time [ edit ]

Base attack time is the default cooldown for a hero’s attacks. Heroes with a lower BAT will attack faster than heroes with a higher BAT even when at equal IAS.

Attack Time [ edit ]

Heroes have an attack time labeled by two numbers. It is written as:

Attack Point + Backswing = Attack Time

For example Windranger’s attack time is 0.4 + 0.3, and she has a BAT of 1.5.

Windranger’s BAT acts as a cooldown, meaning she can only attack once per 1.5 seconds. If she has 0 IAS it would take 0.4 seconds to execute her attack, have a 0.3 second backswing, and then be able to attack again after the remaining 0.8 seconds. The backswing can be canceled, but that does not change her BAT cooldown. If her backswing animation were to be canceled immediately, she would take 0.4 seconds to execute an attack and then take 1.1 seconds of remaining wait time before her next attack. This practice, known as animation canceling, is extremely useful when chasing down other heroes. By canceling the backswing and performing other actions such as moving or spell casting during the BAT cooldown period, it allows the hero to act rather than standing still.

Attack Speed

Attack Speed is a measure of how fast a hero is able to attack. The attack speed of a hero is set by their base attack time (BAT) and their increased attack speed (IAS).

IAS can be increased by using abilities, passives, auras, items, and agility. Each point of agility will increase IAS by one. IAS can have a maximum value of 600 and a minimum value of 20. Units have 100 attack speed by default, which is altered by BAT. 600 attack speed is 6 times faster than default (BAT ÷ 6), and 20 attack speed is 5 times slower than default (BAT ÷ 0.2).

Attack Speed Formula [ edit ]

Using a hero’s BAT and IAS, their attack speed (length of time it takes to attack) is calculated using this formula:

Base Attack Time ÷ (1 + (Increased Attack Speed ÷ 100)) = Attack Speed

In the formula above, the IAS after calculations, which is the final value BAT gets divided by, has a maximum of 6 and a minimum of 0.2. Any values exceeding the maximum or below the minimum are rounded to the nearest acceptable threshold. This means that any value above 6 would be lowered to 6 and any value less than 0.2 would be raised to 0.2.

Example using Windranger with no items at level 1:

Base Attack Time [ edit ]

Base attack time is the default cooldown for a hero’s attacks. Heroes with a lower BAT will attack faster than heroes with a higher BAT even when at equal IAS.

Attack Time [ edit ]

Heroes have an attack time labeled by two numbers. It is written as:

Attack Point + Backswing = Attack Time

For example Windranger’s attack time is 0.4 + 0.3, and she has a BAT of 1.5.

Windranger’s BAT acts as a cooldown, meaning she can only attack once per 1.5 seconds. If she has 0 IAS it would take 0.4 seconds to execute her attack, have a 0.3 second backswing, and then be able to attack again after the remaining 0.8 seconds. The backswing can be canceled, but that does not change her BAT cooldown. If her backswing animation were to be canceled immediately, she would take 0.4 seconds to execute an attack and then take 1.1 seconds of remaining wait time before her next attack. Why Sharpnell on mid game?
This skill helps you in gank and teamfight, and in this state of the game, is where gank happens.

Why take aim is the last skill to be maxed? Usually, Sniper get a nice back up from his partner, so he should be able to do last hitting from his dafault range on early-mid game. Your ability point is better to be allocated on Sharpnell first because it will help you on a gank / teamfight.

STRATEGY
Early Game
You should try to lasthits every creeps. Denying is not your priority. This is a carry’s job, to farm as much. The more you farm, the faster you will get your items, the faster you get your item, the stronger you are. The stronger you are, the more capacity you will have to carry your team into victory.

On early game, you should be protected by your teammates to be able to farm in a maximum safety. You may ask a supportive hero like Vengeful Spirit or Shadow Demon to helps you. A support can protect you from death by their stun.

And also don’t forget to ask the Support to always buys the wards to be able to get vision on a certain area where enemy may comes to gank you.
Remember: Safety is the key of a successful team.

Mid Game
Keep farming. This is your job. Change lane if there is an empty lane. Or you can participate in a teamfight once in a while if the sitiation is good for you. You have Sharpnel and Assassinate to helps you getting enemy kills.

Or if your team decided to push, you can easily right click the tower, the advantage of being Sniper is that towers can’t hit you because you attack range is long.


Late Game
This is the stage you will contribute the most because in this stage you should already acquired high damages to carry the enemy.

Wait until your initiator started a teamfight. Just right click the enemy one by one. Believe me that your damage is very high so you just right click the enemy to kill them all.

You can use Assassinate once in a while, like when there is an enemy escape from you. Assassinate damage is high, so you can kill squishy heroes like Crystal maiden or KoTL easily

Usually in this stage of the game you already have some good items like Manta Style or Daedlus. I believe that you always can outdamage the enemy, so keep calm and right click. Recommended to kill squishy heroes first and then later you can kill the tanky heroes.
