On day one of The International 2017, Chinese teams dominate, and western teams go home

As the main event of the 2017 International Dota 2 Championships got underway, Chinese fans found much to cheer for — even as western fans found cause for concern.

The day began as EU-based squad Team Liquid, considered by many to be a tournament favorite, went up against the legendary Chinese team Invictus Gaming, an organization who claimed the Aegis of Champions in 2012 at the second International (albeit with a different player lineup).

Both teams performed well in last week’s TI7 group stages, though Liquid’s performance with 13 games won and 3 lost seemed to favor them over IG, who went 10-6. However, IG secured an early and ultimately insurmountable lead, due in large part to the aggressive roaming support play of player Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao. In game two, facing potential relegation to the more arduous lower bracket, Liquid retuned fire, taking the win with an aggressive draft oriented around counter-picking IG’s Alchemist mid pick. However, the EU team couldn’t keep the momentum going, and were rolled over in a commanding performance from IG in game three, dropping to the lower bracket.

The day’s second set would prove to be one of its loudest, as two International Champions clashed in the upper bracket. TI5 champs and local favorites Evil Geniuses took on Chinese TI4 champions Newbee. However, Evil Geniuses frequently strong play were undermined by key mistakes during teamfights that ultimately cost them the set, with Newbee taking the series 2-0.

Both EG and Liquid’s next opponents in the lower bracket were determined by nail-biting single elimination matches in the second half of day one, as the bottom eight squads from the group stages fought for their tournament survival. It was a series of underdog vs. underperforming favorites that, ultimately, proved anti-climactic. The popular EU squad Team Secret, who has found success with a recent lineup revamp, routed the Filipino team Execration. Fan-favorite underdogs Cloud9 and team captain Jacky “EternalEnvy” Mao managed to hold off Russian legends Team Empire for over an hour, despite a massive economic disadvantage, but the North American team couldn’t find the win.

South American team Infamous were a favorite story of the tournament, with the expectations of regional fans placed on their shoulders, particularly on 16 year old Peruvian player Enzo “Timado” Gianoli. But Infamous’s lower bracket elimination match was set against Dota 2 titans OG, who have won four of five of Valve’s official Majors, despite underperforming thus far at International competitions at which they’ve appeared. OG seemed to crack their Interational curse for the time being, as they handily routed Infamous despite a difficult start.

How to watch The International 2017

As with just about any competitive video game now, the easiest way to watch The International is probably Twitch. However, there are arguably better ways to spectate the most financially lucrative esports tournament ever.

Valve is once again streaming every game of TI7 on Dota 2’s website. In addition to multiple versions and languages for each stream, you can also view each match with accompanying real-time information about the game in question, including hero levels, a live minimap, XP and gold graphs, and more.

If you’ve purchased The International Battle Pass within the Dota 2 client, not only have you contributed money to TI7’s massive prize pool, you’ve also bought a ticket to watch the tournament inside the game. Watching in-game gives you complete control of your view of the action, while also providing the same professional spectator experience and casting you’d get on Twitch or the Dota 2 site. Viewers who watch within Dota 2 can also earn prizes for specific in-game events, make predictions on various aspects of each match, and win battle points and more prizes.

Valve has created a unique spectator experience just for you, if you’ve got an HTC Vive and have Dota 2 installed. I’ll let my colleague Ben Kuchera tell you about it:

Watching battles take place around you is thrilling, even though it can be a bit hard to keep track of everything that’s going on. The interface makes it easy for you to switch views or jump back and forth from the in-person view to the lobby as well; it only took me a few minutes to get used to moving back and forth to get the best view of the action. It’s like being able to watch a football game on TV with the ability to jump onto the field at any time to see what it looks like from the quarterback’s point of view.

Day one ended as TI6 runners-up Digital Chaos took on Chinese team IG-Vitality. The spin-off team from the main Invictus organization had been a strong shower throughout this year’s competitive Dota 2 season, but underperformed in the group stage along with DC, and, in the end, the Chinese team was eliminated.

Today begins with more upper bracket play, as Filipino team TNC Pro Team takes on the dominant LGD. Forever Young. The Chinese team has displayed an almost terrifying command of Dota 2’s current meta, losing only two games in the group stages. Next, fellow organization mates LGD-Gaming will play against Russian team Virtus. Pro. In the second half of the day in the lower bracket, Team Liquid will take on Team Secret, and finally, Evil Geniuses will play Empire. Lower bracket losers today will be eliminated from the tournament.

and losing, of course.

Yup, ranked tiers very mixed now. You can even get uncalibrated players in Ancient, it is so annoying.

I thought you “quit.” I guess you mean from what you’ve “heard” right? Or are you speaking from your experience with your alt accounts that weren’t banned from matchmaking?

You should know as it has been pointed out numerous times, that rank medals are not the same as MMR. Matchmaking is still based on MMR. Rank medals are a combination of solo and party mmr and their values are not a precise measure of a player’s solo or party MMR. Furthermore, a player’s highest season medal is displayed but they can still lose MMR and drop ranks. Without knowing the numerical MMR of every player on both teams, it is inaccurate to claim a game isn’t fair based on a medal displayed under a player’s name.

Still, you need ceratin skills to be MEDAL “Y” that you simple do not have in MEDAL “-Y”.

So AT LEAST you should be paired and the numbers even in terms of how many types of medals in each team .

Legend can have ARAUTO MMR, however arauto that was never legend can NEVER play like anything above that.

So, please, your statement is fundamentally wrong.

“It is not unusual for your MMR to be a few hundred points from the MMR numbers listed below.
MMR is not the only factor in determining medal rank.
MMR will not always match their estimated medal.
Some players may have medals far above their MMR because:
Medals cannot decrease in rank even if they lose many games.
The player may have multiple Steam accounts.
The system remembers and judges player performance based on their peak skill level, not their current skill level. This is a common mechanism in competitive games used to combat smurfs and intentional derankers.”

I tend to agree with BossGalaga, Medal is not your rank – its the highest rank you have achieved in this season. MMR is your rank and thats how youre paired. Also medal isnt awarded only by MMR you have achieved, i dont know all exact factors, but i’ve heard that some factors are also KDA, How many support items have you bought, Commends and some others. I lost 2 games in row and got increased from Crusader II to Crusader IV – wierd isnt it?:) I think Valve is trying to award good players with medals, not only players who win many games lately.

As said, shiny medals are for prestige, hidden from public mmr is for matchmaking. Please, also remember that we are at the end of the season. At that time mmr and medals may have their largest deviation, in particular for boosted accounts bought at the beginning of the season.

Also Elo matchmaking is based on the assumption of an one-on-one, means unique relationship of account and player which is not given with how the community and Valve handle smurfs and boosters. Basically, accounts are matched with/against other accounts in matchmaking, not players and accounts can have any fake mmr far away from the player‘s skill playing actually on that account.

Cyphus and Roland sit down with Zyori, host of the ZyoriTV podcast and professional Dota 2 caster, to talk about his newest endeavor with Moonduck Studios and Agency, his experience at TI5 casting the noob stream with Purge at the Main Event, and leaving Beyond the Summit in this episode of the Dota 2 podcast.

Join Ez and special guest Denomolos as they relive the glory days of DotP Guild Chat in the celebration episode for all things DotP Community! Remember Chat Snatch? Guild State of Affairs? How about Giveaways? It’s all coming back for this awesome episode!

Roland sits down w/ Ursinity, Gorgon the Wonder Cow, and Woodshrew from JoinDota for a careful, lengthy examination of MMR, the differences in skills, how to climb and more in this special episode of the Defense of the Patience podcast.

Cyphus sits down w/ the ladies of their local D&D campaign: Tharsis and Evanwood. They talk a little about the ladies, their experience with tabletop RPGs, their D&D characters, upcoming show ideas, playing Call of Cthulhu D20, and more in this episode of the gaming podcast.

Wazoo and Blue host the first installment of Tryhard Tuesdays, a new DotP edition that tries to take a more in-depth look at being a better Dota 2 player. Not for the typical casual player (though certain to be helpful for all). The guys explain the purpose of the show, introduce a few segments, and talk about how important humility is in Dota 2 on this episode of the podcast.

Cyphus, Roland and EZ sit down for a Monday episode of Defense of the Patience talking about the trench (or gutter) in Dota 2, upcoming Fall 2015 video game release dates, Star Wars: Battlefront, Rocket League Finals, Prison Servers in Everquest II, and more on the latest episode of the gaming podcast.

Cyphus sits down with Dalimear and Tharsis for a talk about their D&D experience. They discuss playstyles, tips and tricks for playing a Rogue, hybrid classes, the core composite of a D&D group and more. There may also be a little talk about dragon dildos in this episode of the gaming podcast. Tastefully of course.

EZ and Roland sit down for a chat about Dota 2. Cyphus is pretty sure there’s a funny voicemail in this episode, but who really knows, cause EZ and Roland failed to send an episode description. This episode might not even be about Dota 2. It might finally be the episode where EZ and Roland leave their women and run off to Mexico to open that little cabana shop they’ve always dreamed of when laying awake staring at each other wistfully through the Skype cam. Maybe all this, maybe more, in this episode of the Dota 2 podcast.

Roland and Cyphus are joined by long-time friend Dalimear for a talk about Dungeons & Dragons, what D&D is for newcomers, their previous campaigns and why tabletop roleplaying is a great experience in the latest episode of the gaming podcast. Note for Experienced Players: We primarily play D&D 3.5 and all discussion is based on that specific version (we intend to give 5th a try).

EZ, Roland and Cyphus sit down and record an impromptu show in place of what should have been an episode of Try Hard Tuesday. Unfortunately, Roland failed to record Wazoo’s track, so instead of Blue and Wazoo waxing philosophical about some high level Dota 2 strategy, you get Roland, Cyphus and EZ delving deep into Zai’s return to school, YouTube entering streaming, and Cyphus’ love of being pantsless, eating ice cream and watching Sex and the City.

Cyphus and Roland sit down for a chat about Performance Enhancing Drugs in E-Sports, the latest Evil Genius team roster changes and more Dota 2 shenannigans in the latest episode of the podcast.

EZ Mrcz sits down w/ Dalimear and Face for a discussion of their favorite First Person Shooters.

EZ and Roland sit down for a late night chat about Dota 2, The International 2015, and how Roland needs a mother when travelling.

Roland sits down w/ gaming enthusiast, FPS master and long-time friend Dalimear for a getting-to-know session talking gaming and more.

Cyphus and Roland talk about “crashing” the Crummy Wizard Bar Crawl last week in Seattle while attending TI5. They tell the story of the night and play clips with interviews featuring: Toffees, SirActionSlacks, Capitalist, Blitz, Sheever, Nahaz, Greg “WhatIsHip” Laird, Fly from Team Complexity, ppd’s girlfriend, Ashnichrist, DotPeep Dylanoid, and so many more!

Cyphus, EZ, Roland and Wazoo all sit down together in-studio for a look back at their amazing TI5 experience. They talk what they did, the games, the future of Dota 2 and esports, and how everyone is apparently Roland’s biggest fan. They also talk meeting all the amazing DotPeeps like MistaBlue, Chaos, Dylanoid (we owe you drinks!), King of Dew (and the lovely Queen of Dew), Nameless, BradSwagWagon and more! Thanks to all for putting up with us for a full year of Dota 2 and gaming content and here’s to another great year!

DotP is at TI5 and Roland leads the charge w/ Tascam in hand to record a ton of interviews capturing the TI5 Hype! We hear from ppd, March, Sir Action Slacks, Nahaz, Zyori, Toffees, and other TI5 personalities! We also get out and chat with the fans to capture the unique stories behind the people in attendance at TI5.

Cyphus, EZ, Roland and Wazoo join forces for a stellar road trip to TI5, and you’re invited along with us. We talk TI5, get detoured by a wildfire, argue about the predetermination of existence. It’s late. we’re tired.

Cyphus, EZ and Wazoo sit down for a recap of the day’s TI5 games (spoilers), their predictions for upcoming games, what they’re loving about this TI, and what they wish they had known about Dota 2 when they first started playing the game as noobs on the latest edition of The International 2015 week podcast.

EZ joins Roland live and in-studio at DotP HQ. Cyphus writes these descriptions and wasn’t there. So because Roland and EZ didn’t record until like 3 a. He dota 2 reporter ep 500 0 m. and failed to send an episode description, he has no idea what they actually talked about and feels obligated to post the ep before listening to it. He’s guessing they mostly talked about how sexy Cyphus is in person and his Adonis-like male presence that exudes both brooding mysteriousness and pure testosterone. Probably some Dota 2 as well since we’re all headed to TI5 together. Check it out and let him know how close he was to accurately describing the latest episode of this TI5 Hype Podcast.

Cyphus and Roland talk TI Plans, new recording equipment, this week’s lineup of shows, the DotPeabodies, and their predictions for the upcoming TI5 Upper Bracket.

Cyphus, Roland and EZ sit down for a chat with the creator of Dota 2 Reporter, Brian Calland from Wronchi Animation, who returns to the show for a chat about the upcoming TI5, creating a short film for the Dota 2 Short Film Contest and more! Check it out for some TI Hype on this special bonus Saturday episode of TI Hype Week on Defense of the Patience.

The Top 10 Dota 2 Players of 2016

With three fantastic Majors, one of the best Internationals ever and countless tournaments in the books, 2016 has been a fantastic year of Dota 2. But in a year filled with inconsistent results, which players emerged as the best across the entire year? Presenting your Top 10 Dota 2 Players of 2016.

10. Verros “Maybe Next Time” Apostolos – Ad Finem exploded in popularity at The Boston Major due to their improbable run to the Grand Finals. Much of it was thanks to the significant contributions of Maybe Next Time, as he kept his team alive and in contention through his support skills. With his team at the forefront of Dota heading into 2017, Maybe Next Time has to prove that Boston wasn’t just a one time deal.

9. Zhang “xiao8” Ning – Though he is far removed from winning TI4 with Newbee, xiao8 has proven that he is still just as capable of leading teams to success in 2016. As both an offlaner and support, xiao8 provides a sturdy foundation with which LGD Gaming and LGD. ForeverYoung could build around.

8. Zhou “bLink” Yang – In a year where Chinese teams struggled, Wings Gaming stuck together through trying times and won the Aegis of Champions at TI6 for their efforts. Wings’ mid laner bLink deserves much of the praise for why his team succeeded, and his mid lane aggression destabilized his opponents and created plenty of openings for Wings. Dependable and with a large hero pool behind him, bLink is one of the best players on Wings Gaming.

7. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng – Though he only began his professional career last December, MidOne was one of the main reasons why Fnatic succeeded throughout the first half of 2016. A breath of fresh air on a team that had routinely struggled to reach the top, MidOne became known for his efficient farming and skillful use of heroes such as Templar Assassin and Invoker. Thanks to his efforts, Fnatic claimed an impressive fourth place at TI6 before he joined Team Secret. Thankfully, his time on Secret has shown that there is still plenty of room to grow for the young player.

6. Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora – UNiVeRsE is the most consistent offlaner in the world. No matter what hero he plays or what his team’s composition is, you can always count on UNiVeRsE to start the plays that send his opponents reeling. That said, his first half of the year was marred by his time on Team Secret, who promptly faltered and collapsed at The Manila Major. It is on EG where UNiVeRsE has seen his greatest success, and where he will continue to see it going forward.

5. Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen – Cr1t – was already one of the best supports in the world, with two Major titles behind him, before he surprised many by joining EG in August as their new captain. While he still has a long way to go, Cr1t – has successfully taken the reins from ppd on EG and is now at the head of the strongest North American team in Dota. Dota 2 top 10 weekly 79 corvette The switch to NA has also not dulled his skill as support, and he remains one of the best in the world

4. Aliwi “w33” Omar – Arguably the best Invoker in the world, w33 dominates the mid lane, though his future was in doubt after he was kicked from Team Secret a few weeks after he won The Shanghai Major. Fortunately for w33, Digital Chaos has allowed him to continue to grow and develop into one of the strongest mid laners in the world. Though DC faltered in the Grand Finals of TI6 and placed in the Top 4 at The Boston Major, w33 remains a force to be reckoned with heading into 2017.

3. Zhang “faith_bian” Ruida – Faith_bian’s strong performances across a wide variety of offlane heroes has helped propel Wings Gaming to the top of Dota 2. Aggressive to the extreme, faith_bian is one of the best roaming gankers in the world, always aware of when to precisely and effectively take apart his opponents.

2. Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka – JerAx has been the best support throughout 2016, setting up plays that turn the tide of games with frightening consistency. His Earth Spirit is legendary, and he retains one of the larger hero pools among supports. Despite this, he was unable to win a Major title on Team Liquid, whom he had played with for the better part of the year. It was only in joining OG that JeRax secured his first Valve title, which is likely to be the first of many. Whether on Liquid or OG, JerAx has proven to be a great initiator and a dependable support.

1. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi – Miracle – is leagues ahead of every other player in Dota 2. There has been no other player throughout the year who has left as big of an impact as him in individual play, no matter what hero he chooses. Though he did participate at the most recent Major and fell short of glory at TI6, one Major title and three tournament wins is nothing to scoff at. If anything, his limited appearances in the back half of the year mean that he still has room to get better – a sobering thought for Miracle-‘s opponents.

FPS problem/massive drop after Techies update

My fps is around stable 50 and sometimes goes to around 30-40 during team fights, but after Techies patch I get this bug in all mods but mostly ARDM when out of nowhere my fps drops to 5-10 and whole game lags sound lags, even if I go to Dota menu everything lags, and fps won’t go up untill I dc and rec, this happens mostly during team fights but sometimes even during normal laning stage.

After I disconnected and reconnected fps gets back to normal

50, however if this happens in teamfight I can’t do anything and I die.

There is no any error in console.

I’m using Nvidia 220GT and updated drivers.

Also using WIN 7 ultimate 32 bit.

Processor: Pentium Dual Core E6500 @2.93GHz

I know pc is very old but I can’t afford new one and this one gives me around 40-50 stable after lowering most of things in video options, now I still have 40-50 fps but that bug with huge fps drop happens from time to time and it makes game unplayable, this did not happen happen before Techies update, my problems starting after that update, mostly in ARDM mode but it happend in AP mode also.

I don’t know what causes this fps drop, it is just out of nowhere after 30 minutes of stable 50 fps my fps drops to 9 and everything lags until I dc and reconnect to fix it.

Here is screenshots before I disconnected to fix, it is locked around 9-10 fps and everything lags, bug happened around min 24 after 24 minutes of stable 50 FPS.

Then 1 min later after I reconnect, bug is fixed and my fps is 55 and thankfully I didn’t had this massive fps drop during that game again

EDIT: AFTER 6.82 PATCH

Still have problem in ARDM, 3 out of 3 games had server crash when game was close to finish.

3 out of 3 games game had 2+ people who crashed on loading assets and my Dota crashed in middle of 1 out of 3 games.

2 out of 3 games I had fps drop to 9 in random time during game, I had to disconnect and reconnect to fix fps problem.

Also here is dump from that crash that happend during ARDM game.

I hope I upload it properly Attachment 27016 , I just downloaded 7-zip so I hope I did everything right so someone can take a look at my crash dump.

Okay this is 100% bug in ARDM, I don’t have problem in AP mode unless I played ARDM before AP without restarting Dota, if I play ARDM I get huge fps drop to 9 in random moments, that bug carries into other modes if I don’t restart Dota, my friend had same issue today in AP because we played ARDM game before.

Please fix that mode, it has some problems, idk is it memory leak or something else but mode is bugged and causes technical problems in other modes.

As you might have heard by now, DK and defending champions Na’Vi are the first teams to be invited to The International.

This year we are moving to Benaroya Hall, located here in beautiful sunny Seattle. It will be held during the last weekend of August, from the 31st to September 2nd.

For those that want to catch up on last year’s event, the archive is located here.

We will be releasing information on how to acquire tickets in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for details.

From one: an army

Team Phantom Lancer is back and they don’t like the way you’re looking at them.

You can’t go in alone, here – take these:

  • The Prodota2 League and Gigabyte’s Dota Masters league started last week.
  • We don’t usually drink rum, but when we do, we enjoy the Brewmaster approved smooth flavors of Admiral Kunkka’s Tidebringer Rum.
  • The Starladder finals VODs are up.

You can find the latest changelog is here, no wait: here, nope: here!

Our force comes.

Don’t worry, your eyes are not playing tricks on you! That is indeed a brand new HUD you’re seeing. Today’s update includes the first of many upcoming revisions to our UI, starting with the in-game HUD.

When looking at feedback that we’ve gotten related to our interface, the first concerns we decided to address were:

  • Inefficient use of space across all resolutions
  • Having to jump through hoops to interact with the courier and glyph
  • A lack of aesthetic coherency with the rest of the game visuals

To more efficiently use space in wider resolutions, we’ve made adjustments to the layout of the stats section. This also allowed us to include Move Speed as one of the stats readily available to players.

The Courier UI now exposes the state of the little guy, and allows item delivery with just a single click. Glyph state is also clearly exposed and easier to reach when you most need it.

And finally we’ve also updated the look of our item icons.

As always, we would love to hear what you think of the changes, so feel free to leave feedback over in our UI forums.

Also released today is the Dota 2 replay parsing tool. This tool allows technically minded community members to extract data straight out of game replays. You can check out the technical documentation here. We can’t wait to see what kind of awesome data visualizations people come up with.

Meanwhile the community’s as busy as always, peep this:

  • The Star Series is happening right now! Check out Purge’s stream for all the action, or if you’re just interested in seeing where he sleeps.
  • And look at this thing!

I love you guys!

Everyone raise your glass and welcome Brewmaster back into the world of Dota. Dota 2 purge interface dermatitis

These community highlights just stumbled onto this blog:

  • Gigabyte and Beyond The Summit announced the Dota 2 Masters tournament. With the top Asian teams competing it will be hard to find a game lacking any action.
  • The VOD for The Arena’s finals between Mousesports and CLG is now available.

Update notes can be found here. Please read responsibly.

There’s trouble brewing

Yep, we are back with a brand new update.

This week we see the return of Random Draft mode. In this mode only 20 heroes are available and players take turns picking.

A wild pack of community highlights has been spotted!

  • The Corsair sponsored Vengeance Cup taking place during Dreamhack Summer 2012 has been announced.
  • The ProDota2 league is set to start tomorrow, Friday April 13th. Our friends over at GosuGamers have you covered with a nice write up about it.
  • Episode 1 of TheGDStudio’s Learn To Play Dota 2 series is out. Better tell your loved ones you’ll be busy for the next 3 hours.

We’ll see you again next week, you might want to get a designated driver by then.

Changelog is available here.

From exile, I emerge!

We celebrate Happy Bear Pun Week a day earlier as Lone Druid joins Dota 2’s cast of heroes.

  • It’s Gosu’s Monthly Madness tournament finals are tomorrow, March 29th. You don’t want to miss this, we hear it could be more than we can bear.
  • Bear witness to Team Dignitas’ Ultimate Guide to Warding. This should be required teaching in clawsrooms across the globe.
  • Great Explorer Nullf has compiled the eating habits of the legendary Tidehunter in one handy chart. This might give you paws before deciding to head to the beach.

Bear in mind that there will not be an update next week as we will be hibernating during that time.

Sniper/Counters

Contents

Bad against. [ edit ]

  • Axe can easily close the distance to Sniper with either Blink Dagger or Shadow Blade .
  • With Berserker’s Call in combination with Counter Helix and Battle Hunger , Axe can make short work of Sniper, finishing him off easily with Culling Blade due to his low HP & high attack speed in the late game.
  • Sniper is suspectible to being ganked by Bloodseeker, who can easily kill Sniper due to his lack of mobility and escape mechanisms.
  • Even if Sniper builds mobility items, Bloodseeker can prevent and even punish Sniper from/for using them with Rupture ; Sniper is forced to stand still with Shadow Blade , while Hurricane Pike and Blink Dagger deals damage if he attempts to use them while Ruptured.
  • Bounty Hunter can use Shadow Walk to get close, and Jinada can do massive damage and slow down Sniper on the first attack.
  • Track gives additional speed to Bounty Hunter and makes Shadow Blade useless, allowing Bounty Hunter to easily kill him with a few attacks.
  • A Blink Dagger combined with Hoof Stomp can be used to catch Sniper.
    • Centaur can also utilize Stampede to cover the distance.
  • Double Edge can easily finish off Sniper after Centaur initiates on him.
  • Retaliate punishes Sniper for focusing Centaur in teamfights.
  • Clockwerk can easily close the distance to Sniper using Hookshot and trap him with Power Cogs .
  • Even though Sniper is a natural Hurricane Pike carrier, Sniper’s low health usually means Clockwerk can finish him off with Battery Assault and Rocket Flare .
  • Ember Spirit can close the distance between Sniper easily with his Activate Fire Remnant and further keep Sniper in place with Searing Chains .
  • With the help of Aghanim’s Scepter , Sniper cannot outrun Ember Spirit or chase him, even if Sniper builds mobility items.
  • Invoker’s arsenal of magical spells are troublesome for Sniper who has low HP and high armor, which does not benefit him much against Invoker.
  • Bes >Cold Snap , preventing him from reacting.
  • Lifestealer can close the distance to Sniper by using Infest on a fast or durable creep to tank Sniper’s damage.
  • Open Wounds will reduce Sniper’s mobility heavily, and Rage ‘s attack speed bonus helps in taking down Sniper.
  • Being mostly a physical damage dealer, Sniper’s effectiveness is greatly reduced by Omniknight’s Guardian Angel .
  • Omniknight can also protect an ally from being finished off by Assassinate by using Purification .
  • Phantom Strike allows her to jump on Sniper with increased attack speed.
  • Coup de Grace and Desolator shreds Sniper’s low health and armor.
  • Blur can be activated to get within Phantom Strike’s range, surprising Sniper before he has a chance to react. Its passive also reduces Sniper’s overall effectiveness against Phantom Assassin, prov >Monkey King Bar .
  • Phantom Rush grants Phantom Lancer the mobility to close in the distance between Sniper.
  • Phantom Lancer can dispel Sniper’s Assassinate easily with Doppelganger and causes confusion to Sniper with the latter effect of creating an additional of 2 illusions.
  • Phantom Lancer’s Juxtapose easily can overwhelm Sniper, as his damage is mostly single-targeted.
  • Pudge’s Meat Hook allows him to bring Sniper in the m >Dismember can lock Sniper down, which makes him highly vulnerable and gives enough time for Pudge to kill him alone.
  • Slardar can use Guardian Sprint with Blink Dagger or Shadow Blade to get close, and Slithereen Crush will stun Sniper, making him vulnerable to Slardar’s teammates.
  • Corrosive Haze lowers Sniper’s armor and makes Sniper’s Shadow Blade useless, easily killing him with a few attacks.
  • Slark is a natural Shadow Blade carrier, and with Pounce Sniper has no opportunity to escape or react.
  • With Essence Shift and Shadow Dance , Slark will easily win a fight against Sniper.
  • Haunt instantly allows her to get up and close with Sniper, and Spectral Dagger makes it difficult to escape from her.
  • Spectre outcarries Sniper in the late game, so Sniper must try to end the game early before Spectre comes online.
  • Spirit Breaker can charge towards Sniper from anywhere on the map with Charge of Darkness .
  • Greater Bash deals magical damage, which can prove dangerous to Sniper and his low health.
  • Both previous abilities combined with Nether Strike ensures that Spirit Breaker can easily solo kill Sniper.
  • Storm Spirit can close the distance towards Sniper very easily with his ultimate Ball Lightning .
  • Snowball allows Tusk to move himself and allies towards Sniper whilst invulnerable and h >Ice Shards may also block pathing for Sniper as he has no means of moving through obstacles. In addition, Tag Team can hinder Sniper’s escape.
  • Nethertoxin breaks Sniper’s passives.
  • Viper Strike together with Poison Attack can slow Sniper and tears through his low health and mobility.
  • Shukuchi allows Weaver to close the gap between himself and Sniper with high speed, and to maneuver through teamfights to get on top of him.
  • A combination of The Swarm and Desolator tears through Sniper’s low armor.

Others [ edit ]

  • Heroes with high mobility can approach Sniper: Anti-Mage , Earth Spirit , Io , Nature’s Prophet , Pangolier , Puck , Queen of Pain and most notably Riki .
  • Heroes with catch to disrupt Sniper’s positioning and deliver him into the enemies: Batrider , Disruptor , Pudge , Vengeful Spirit

Items [ edit ]

  • Blade Mail returns all the damage Sniper deals, and the duration of it is often more than enough to either kill Sniper, or leave him low on HP.
  • Eul’s Scepter of Divinity can disjoint Assassinate if timed correctly, as you have

4 seconds to react before being hit.

  • Smoke of Deceit disables True Sight from Assassinate on target.
  • Linken’s Sphere blocks Assassinate on impact.
  • Blink Dagger capable of closing gap between user and Sniper very fast and disjointing Assassinate.
  • Lotus Orb reflects Assassinate.

    Dota2 Lounge Reviews

    About

If you are a fan of the MOBA called Dota 2, you should know that there is one service where you can bet on every game from every tournament and win huge prizes because of the high coefficients. And this service is named Dota 2 lounge. Here, you can test your luck and bet on available matches with your game skins.

However, people who are only coming to this service want to know more about it (how it works, is it smart enough, can they use its mobile version etc.). We heard a lot of such questions, so we think that it`s time to give you a review on Dota 2 lounge.

    Pros and cons

First of all, we would like to start with positive and negative website aspects.

The first and, probably, the main advantage is that on Dota 2 lounge you can do only one thing – bet on matches. You won`t see any unneeded advertisements or strange links from other pages. You simply need to choose one matches (or many matches, if you want), choose the team that you want to bet on and bet with your game skins. The system will automatically download all items to the bet, and if your team wins, you will take your prize depending on the coefficient.

Yes, someone can say that the biggest disadvantage of this service is that it`s only about Dota 2. Well, we don`t think so. If the website was made for than, it won`t be changed. So, we think that this betting service doesn`t have any negative aspects. You also should know that there is a similar service made special for another popular online game – Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

    Interface and usability

The interface is pretty simple, so you won`t face any problems while visiting the site. All functions that are available on the main page will open in a single window, so you don`t need to click from one icon to another. When you click on the button, the system reacts immediately. On the bottom of every page you will see the icons of social media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc.). You can click on those icons and visit the service`s official pages to get more information (if needed).

If you don`t want to spend time scrolling the page from the top to the bottom, you can easily find what you need with the help of searching icon. Just enter the keywords, and the system will give you all possible results.

    Esports betting offer

On Dota 2 it`s all about esports betting. There are no other services like casino or poker, only Dota 2. Here, you will be able to work with best coefficients and, if your bet wins, get really huge win. We read many reviews send from users and can easily say that this service has the best coefficients for Dota 2 matches. You don`t believe us? So, go and check it by yourself!

    Bet types

Here, at Dota2 Lounge bet, can make single and multiple bets. You can bet on the events before they begin or do it when they are already in-play. However, you can`t bet on a current thing that could happen in the game (for example, a random player will do more than 10 kills in a game). You can bet only on a final result.

    Dota2 Lounge coins and promotions

With Dota 2, you will be able to take regular bonuses from the bookies. It could be an extra high coefficient or a bonus skins for special matches (grand finals, international teams` tournaments). Don`t miss those opportunities!

    Mobile betting

Unfortunately, Dota 2 lounge doesn`t have it`s own mobile application for betting, so the only way to bet on matches is through the personal computer. Who knows, maybe later they will upgrade their services and create a special app.

    Payment methods and support

We said it before, but we will repeat once again – you use your game skins as a currency. You don`t need money, you don`t need bitcoins, you don`t need anything else. Just your skins. Commons, uncommon, immortal, legendary and other kinds of skins could be used at Dota 2 lounge. If you feel that something went wrong, you can always ask a manager. He will answer very quickly.

    Conclusion

It`s hard to make a complete decision about such websites. On one hand, they are pretty simple and useful, so the clients are able to do everything they need without any problems. On the other hand, this website can`t offer you some special services because it`s dedicated to one discipline (here it`s Dota 2). But it`s not a problem, and we can`t count it as a negative aspect.

We think that every Dota 2 fan who wants to bet on his favourite team with the best coefficients should use Dota 2 lounge for betting.
