7 Ways Weather Affects COPD

Weather can play a significant role in how you feel when you have a lung disease like COPD. Some weather conditions create an ideal environment for breathing, while others can make breathing difficult, even causing flare-ups. Here are seven ways weather can impact COPD and what you can do.

1. Too hot

Temperatures greater than 90°F are ideal for basking in the sun and swimming. They are not so good if you have lung disease. A John Hopkins University study showed that higher outdoor temperatures increased the severity of COPD symptoms. Researchers are not sure why this is. Staying indoors in air conditioning may be the best way to beat the heat.

2. The perfect temperature

Speaking of air conditioning, the same study indicated that cooler temperatures may be ideal for people with COPD. In fact, keeping cool may actually have health benefits other than just breathing easier and feeling more comfortable. An ideal temperature is somewhere around 70°F. Try to keep your indoor environment cool throughout the day and night.

3. Too cold

On the flip side, temperatures less than 32°F are not good either. Cold air holds less water, making it too dry. Inhaling air with less than 10 percent humidity may dry out your mucus membranes. This makes it difficult for the membranes to produce the fluids needed to move viruses and bacteria. Dota 2 trade weather effects on copd Dry mucus membranes also have a tendency to worsen allergy symptoms. This is significant because both lung infections and allergies are COPD triggers. If you have to go outside on cold days, wear a scarf over your mouth and nose to allow your own breath to warm and humidify the air you inhale.

4. Too humid

The ability to hold water vapor increases with temperature. So when warm air comes into contact with a water surface it evaporates water faster than cold air. This means that hot air tends to hold more water than cold air. When the humidity of air becomes greater than 50 percent it can become heavy and hard to inhale, making you feel stuffy and just making breathing more difficult. Humid air also creates nice breeding grounds for fungus and molds, and tends to hold dust mites, all of which may trigger flare-ups. Experts recommend keeping the humidity in your home between 35 and 50 percent. Air conditioners work well for this, although so too do humidifiers and dehumidifiers. Ask your doctor how many hours these devices should run to provide optimal air quality indoors.

5. Wind

Going out in the wind may cause you to work extra hard when walking against the wind. This may cause you to become tired too quickly, making you feel–pun intended–winded. Wind may also pick up dust and pollen, both of which may trigger flare-ups. It’s best to stay indoors during windy conditions, and to keep your windows shut.

6. Thunderstorms

Studies have linked thunderstorms to asthma attacks, meaning they probably also cause COPD flare-ups. A theory is that rain and winds cause pollen grains to rupture, creating minute particles that can be inhaled. It’s best to stay indoors with the windows shut and in a controlled environment.

7. Abrupt changes

Rapid changes in weather have been linked with worsening COPD symptoms, such as feeling short of breath. This may be due to rapid drops in barometric pressure, which may occur just prior to thunderstorms. A drop of barometric pressure decreases the oxygen carrying capacity of the air. The drop may be small, but it may be significant enough when you have COPD to make you feel like you can’t catch your breath.

Bottom line. Since weather is proven to have an impact on COPD, it is best to stay indoors during extreme weather. It’s also best to have the necessary equipment–dehumidifiers, humidifiers, and air conditioners–to create an ideal environment for breathing inside your home. People with COPD should get the daily weather reports, and weekly reports so they can adjust outdoor time schedules as necessary.

How Weather Can Affect Your COPD

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an umbrella term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema, lung conditions that are primarily caused by smoking. For some people, weather and temperature changes can trigger COPD symptoms. Here’s what to do if that happens.

Weather changes are one of many factors that can trigger COPD symptoms. Such symptoms, which include shortness of breath, cough, and phlegm production, tend to get worse for some COPD patients both when the air is very cold and when it is hot and humid.

“Weather extremes are not good,” says Barry Make, MD, co-director of the COPD program at National Jewish Health and professor of medicine at the University of Colorado in Denver. Dr. Make says that he has noticed that temperatures below freezing or above 90 degrees Fahrenheit tend to cause COPD symptoms to flare up.

COPD and Weather: When It’s Cold and Windy

Cold air and strong winds are known to be triggers for the worsening of COPD symptoms. “If [COPD patients] go out [when] it is windy and they have to walk against the wind, there is more resistance, and that can be a problem,” says Make. And frigid temperatures can fatigue COPD patients. “COPD patients just feel like they are more tired after they’ve been in the cold,” he says.

If cold and windy climates bother you, try loosely wearing a scarf or face mask over your nose and mouth, and breathe through your nose on wintry days. The scarf, or muffler, and breathing through your nose warms the air before it enters your lungs, which can help prevent the worsening of your symptoms.

Dealing With Hot, Humid Air

While there are a few lucky ones whose COPD symptoms improve in humid weather, symptoms for most COPD patients flare on days of high heat, humidity, or smog. This can especially be an issue when a front moves in, bringing humidity, says Make. “A lot of people with COPD tell you that they know when a front is going to come through,” he says.

So on the hottest and most humid days of the year, stay indoors in an air-conditioned environment to prevent a flare-up of your symptoms. “If it is a high-pollution day, we suggest [that our COPD patients] stay inside and limit their activities,” notes Make. “If it is really hot or really cold, we would say the same.”

Should You Move?

Seasonal exacerbations of COPD symptoms can be so bad that people will move across the country in an effort to deal with the problem. “One of the most common questions we get [from COPD patients] is what part of the country [is best] to live in because of the weather,” says Make.

He says that in the past, physicians commonly recommended moving to the western United States, where the air is less humid. But he says that it is now known that the COPD-weather connection is very individualized, and that what works for one person might not work for the next. “It is variable from person to person,” says Make. “Some people prefer more humidity and some less.”

It is usually not necessary to move when you have COPD, but if you live in a climate with extreme weather changes and moving is an option for you, talk with your doctor. Make strongly recommends a trial run before you relocate.

“If people are going to think about moving somewhere for the weather,” he says, “be there for all of the seasons of the year.” That way you will know if the move will provide year-round improvement of your symptoms.

Expert reviews and ratings

Incredibly fun and expertly designed, Dota 2 is the definitive isometric.

There’s a steep, daunting learning curve, but DOTA 2 offers one of the most rewarding game experiences you can find on PC.

What’s Dota, you ask? Well. as a game, Dota has been around for quite some time now. It began its life as a simple Starcraft map known at the time as Aeon of Strife. However, once the much more advanced Warcraft 3 rolled around, it got rechristened as.

A deep and rewarding competitive game that becomes something special when taken on in the company of others.

The fact that it’s completely and totally free to play in the way we wish all free-to-play games could be isn’t just one of the most generous propositions anywhere in gaming, it creates a level playing field where skill and cooperation is paramount. May the best team win.

Also, you always want a Bottle when in mid-lane, and runes spawn at 0:00 and again every two minutes. Practice last-hitting before you go online. And if you’re jungling, memorise where the low-level Creeps are.

“Crap, Riki has to be somewhere nearby.” Danger lurks around every corner when there’s an invisible hero on the loose. Sure, Clinkz has the ability to go invisible himself, but Riki unleashes a powerful smoke cloud, silencing the opposing team. A.

These differences probably won’t be enough to drag anybody obsessed with another game to DotA 2, but I get the feeling Valve hope to build a community from new players who use Steam. In the long run this might make combat for veterans a little too simple, but for now things seem quite balanced and, on the whole, relatively civil.

Since it’s free-to-play and available right from the Steam program, there’s no reason to think that it wouldn’t be a massive hit anyway. Thankfully though, there’s also a great deal of quality in there and the proof is that I couldn’t find one entirely negative thing to say about it.

Dota 2 es un juego mas estratégico e inteligente, sin dejar de lado la acción, gráficamente espectacular (artisticamente al mismo nivel) y con un gameplay mas lento.

Despite his aggression, he’d taught me something. Sometimes you want to play, not learn. But when you want to study, to master something, there are few finer, slicker classrooms than Dota 2.

Free-to-play multiplayer games are only profitable if as many people as possible have access to them. So, it’s hardly surprising that Dota 2 is not a particularly demanding title. It’s really meant to run well on the lowest common denominator. Our little.

What Are Dota 2 Player Cards? A Noob Gu >

If you are a Dota 2 player who like to buy skins and spend money on the game. Then you definitely must have purchased The International Compendium, which releases every year. The Internation is the most exciting period of the year for the game as well as for fans. If you are a person who does not care about your Battle pass level, or you are satisfied with your Battle pass level then you might want to stop right here and close the browser tab. I’m just kidding, you can read this if you like. I will write about the details of the Dota 2 Player Cards which are a part of The International 2018 Compendium. Bear with me with the long article.

Dota 2 Player Cards A Brief Introduction

Dota 2 Player Cards were introduced in The International 2014 Compendium. Initially, the card pack contained 10 random player cards of the teams competing in The International 2014. Cards could be collected to earn points for. Collecting all cards for any given team will reward certain for that team. I will tell you what points though.

Through the years the player cards were changed and now since the release of The International 2018 Compendium each Battle pass owner is awarded players cards. Instead of 10 like in TI4 Compendium, you are given 5 random cards of the 18 total team competing in The International 2018.

Dota 2 Player Cards Details

Now let me tell you in detail what these points are and how can you gain maximum points out of the player cards. If you have not opened a single pack first open these. You can open the player cards in the Compendium tab of Battle pass. Click the Battle pass tab on the main screen of Dota 2.

After that click Player Cards and by the way the prize pool is huge!

Then, you have to open the Player Cards if you have premium pack open that too. I have already opened mine so, don’t mind it.

After that, you have to look at the duplicates. Normal player cards pack will have 4 green cards and 1 rare silver or gold card. Premium player card pack, however, contains the rare Notice that there are 3 types of cards, Green, Silver, and Gold.

You have to prioritize golden cards, then comes silver and then green.

After opening every pack now you have to look for recycles. If you have 2 or more similar green cards of the same player you can recycle any card you like. But if you got a golden or silver card of the same player you do not need the green card or cards.

Similarly, If you have a golden card of the same player. You can either keep it or recycle it depending upon the statistics the card has.

If you have duplicates of a core player. Then you have to look at the statistics of the card. Like here is a silver card of Xxs who is a core player for Invictus Gaming. Now looking at the card it has GPM (Gold Per Minute), Obs Wards Planted and Camps stacked. Since he is a core player so the Obs. Wards Planted and Camps Stacked is useless. If I have other cards which have good statistics like, GPM, Creep Score, Kills etc I would keep that card and recycle this silver card. Do you get my point?

You have to see the same things for Golden cards.

Things To Look For A Core Player Card

You basically want the following things in the statistics for a core player. If you are missing most of the things in the below list then you do not need that card at all. Recycle that!

  • GPM (Best for Mid or position 2 players)
  • Creep Score [or Last Hits. Both are same things] (Best for position 1 player)
  • First Blood (Best for Position 1 players)
  • Deaths (Best for Position 1 players)
  • Kills (Best for Mid or position 2 players)
  • Team Fights (Best for Position 1 player)
  • Tower Kills (Best for position 3 players)
  • Roshan Kills (Best for position 1 players)

If you have most of the above things in the stats of your card keep it. It will bring you a lot of points

Things To Look For A Support Player Card

Similarly, for a support player, you want to have these stats in your cards

  • Team Fights (Best for position 4 players)
  • Obs. Wards Planted (Best for position 5 players)
  • Runes Grabbed (Best fo position 4 players)

1 more thing to keep in mind that the percentage right beside the statistics. If you have mixed statistics for any player then you have to look for the percentages if they have percentages lower than other stats like for a core card if it has a high percentage of runes grabbed than creep score then the card is pretty much useless.

You might be wondering why do I am focusing too much on recycling. Yes, a good question indeed. Well,

Recycling will help you gather dusts.

  • 10 card dusts can be exchanged for another card pack.
  • 30 card dusts can be exchanged for a specific player card.
  • Duplicate cards can be recycled for 1 – 5 card dusts each, depending on rarity.
    • Green card – 1 dust
    • Silver card – 2 dusts
    • Gold card – 5 dusts

Rewards Of Using Player Cards

Collecting all cards for a specific team will unlock a custom teleport effect based on that team’s logo. Collecting all silver and gold cards will unlock upgraded teleport effects. And you can use sprays of your favorite team. Favorite team is basically having cards of all players.

As you can see the sprays and other cool stuff regarding Favorite Team.

How To Use Player Cards For Maximum Fantasy Points?

The main use of player cards is to get fantasy points by setting a fantasy roster. Fantasy Team is a feature that lets players create their own team of professional players within Dota 2 Batlle pass, and compete with other players in the league based on points earned by their team. Points are earned whenever a professional player participates in any Tournament match.

In short, you have to use your best card in a fantasy Dota 2 roster which will earn you points depending on the performance of the player earning you points.

The group stage will start in about a week and the schedule will be available 1 or 2 days before the group stage.

Now the most important thing to look for is that you have to see the schedule and look for the matches of the team whose cards you have. You have to select different cards for cores and supports. You will have to choose the best players or the players who stood out the most in the cards that you have. For example Liquid. Miracle – for core etcetera. Dota 2 wallpapers pudge You know that these players will perform good no matter what this will get you the points. Of course, golden cards will give you the most of the points.

You have to set your fantasy roster every day until finals. After that, if you manage to get some good points you will get free Battle Pass levels and that concludes my guide for maximum points.

If you have any question or anything you didn’t understand in the above guide feel free to let me know in the comments.

Snowballing

Snowballing is an unofficial term, describing a concept where once a hero gets enough momentum, they become much stronger (relative to other heroes at that stage) due to that momentum. The general definition of snowballing can be found here.

In Dota 2, snowballing can be used in many different contexts. When a Hero is said to be good at snowballing, this means that when they gain enough of an advantage (usually in early or mid game) they will completely dominate the enemy team, given the enemy does not have a composition to deal with the threat. When a team is said to snowball, this implies that due to a team’s certain composition, when they acquire an advantage they are able to keep (and increase) said advantage.

Note that Heroes that snowball are not the same thing as carries. Carries are Heroes that scale very well with items (hence they become quite strong late game when they acquire these items). On the other hand heroes that snowball are ones that are able to maintain and increase their momentum when they obtain it.

A very good distinction to make is that a carry hero is able to turn the tides of a losing team if they obtain enough items and/or drag the game on long enough, where as a snowballing hero is generically unable to turn the tides for their own team if they are doing badly, mainly because a snowballing hero needs an initial advantage (i. e. momentum). For similar reasons, a snowballing hero can fall behind the rest of the team in terms of overall usefulness if they do not gain that crucial advantage. Some heroes can be both a carry and a snowballer (Luna is a good example)

Heroes that are known as Snowballers [ edit ]

Nature of Snowballing heroes [ edit ]

Snowballing Heroes are often niche Heroes, that means they have a few superb strengths but also a few severe weaknesses. These Heroes snowball when they are able to cover their weaknesses to an extent that their strengths shine, and this only happens when they get a strong advantage at the start. These severe weaknesses are what also make snowballers fall behind the rest of their team should they not get their initial advantage. Such Heroes are very reliant on situational abilities and/or items, or the need to verse unconventional lineups. They can also be reliant on either jungling or going into a certain lane (usually mid) which creates obvious counters.

Pudge is widely regarded as the best example of a snowballer. His very high tankiness, combined with his insane burst damage and ability to gank, assassinates enemy Heroes as well as singling them out to allow him to completely dominate over the enemy team. This is further amplified by his Flesh Heap ability which grants him bonus Strength whenever a Hero is killed in his vicinity. The sheer tankiness of Pudge (high starting Strength/Strength gained combined with Flesh Heap) makes it very difficult for the opposing team to bounce back and deal with Pudge when he gains an upper hand.

On the other hand Pudge has glaring weaknesses. He is almost completely reliant on landing his Meat Hook for Pudge to do his job as a nuker since he doesn’t have any abilities to attract focus fire to make use of his tankiness. This is due to the fact that his other nukes (Rot and Dismember) require him to be in melee range (that and Dismember is channeling) and Pudge has no mobility combined with a below average movement speed of 285. In other words, Pudge needs to land his Meat Hook very often to bring an opponent into range in order to use his other abilities effectively. Furthermore Rot also deals self damage which makes it even harder to use effectively if you miss your hook and can be taken advantage of by other heroes such as Bloodseeker, Necrophos and Doom. Rot also makes Pudge reliant on a somewhat early Hood of Defiance as it greatly reduces the amount of self damage that Pudge takes.

Pudge’s other weakness is that even though he has somewhat expensive mana costs on his abilities, he has very low starting Intelligence (15) and Intelligence gain (1.5) which results into a very low mana pool. This means that Pudge is reliant on Bottle/Arcane Boots just so he has enough mana to use his abilities. This reliance on certain key items coupled with the fact that Pudge isn’t a fantastic farmer (he only has last hitting to help him farm and his playstyle means he spends more time roaming and ganking rather than actually farming in a lane) means that kills are his main form of income. If he doesn’t get his initial kills in early game, he really falls behind as he completely blows his mana pool after doing a single combo. He is also countered heavily by Observer Ward’s as they greatly aid in the opposing team’s ability to dodge incoming hooks and also help in preventing Pudge getting his much needed runes.

Pudge is also reliant to solo (almost always in mid) which makes it both very obvious and hence easy to counter. Heroes such as Juggernaut, Omniknight and Bloodseeker can be placed mid to counter a Pudge. Alternately a melee carry such as Phantom Assassin can be placed mid to take advantage of the fact that Pudge doesn’t have fantastic lane control and that the Pudge after he obtains his key items will most likely spend more time ganking than harassing the carry in mid.

The Arcana Votes continue to progress with only eight heroes left in the mix. Astonishingly, Io – which has picked up much attention and traction recently – overpowered Queen of Pain with a whopping 10.6 million votes to her 2.4 million. This week’s competition ends on July 25th, revealing the semi-finalists.

UPDATE (August 13th):

TI6 final standings, updates and highlights – HERE

The Arcana Votes have been gaining much attention from the community in recent weeks, as TI6 Battle Pass owners scurry to cast their votes to give their favorite heroes an arcana set and model rework. Out of over 100 heroes gathered at the start line, only eight remain – Io, Slark, Wind Ranger, Wraith King, Earth Spirit, Juggernaut, Sven and Pudge.

There are only two more weeks left for people to cast their Arcana votes, after the current “quarterfinals” end on July 25th. The winner of the Arcana votes grand finals will be revealed at TI6.

Io overpowered the usually popular Queen of Pain with a staggering 10.6 million votes vs. 2.4 million votes. Despite the hero’s comparatively low play rate, it has previously bested Phantom Lancer, Nature’s Prophet and Invoker in the Arcana votes competition. This week, Io will take on Wraith King in the semifinals.

Arcana Votes showdown

The final eight heroes will be brought to the final four in the Arcana votes semifinals on July 25th – only three days from now.

Arcana Votes

  • Compendium owners vote for the next hero to receive an Arcana item.
  • Heroes are split into four single elimination brackets.
  • Each player gets 16 Arcana votes per week.
  • Arcana votes can be stacked on the same hero.
  • Unused Arcana votes do not roll over.
  • An extra 16 Arcana votes per week are granted at Battle Pass level 9 for a total of 32.
  • An extra 16 Arcana votes per week are granted at Battle Pass level 28 for a total of 48.

International 6 Battle Pass

The International 6 Battle Pass was released on May 17th.

The basic version is still available for $9.99, while the Level 50 Battle Pass is on sale for a discounted price of $26.99. Owners can also purchase bundles of 5, 11 and 24 levels to upgrade their Battle Passes, for $2.49, $4.99, and $9.99.

Since its release, the TI6 Battle Pass has fueled the TI6 prize pool to a staggering $18,027,624 – approximately $400,000 shy of the TI5 record breaking prize fund. With the impending release of the Immortal Treasure III, TI6 prize pool is bound to shatter records.

If we take away the $1,600,000 Valve chipped in, we’re left with over $16,400,000 raised by the community. However, only 25% of the proceeds of each sale contributes to the TI6 prize-pool. Therefore, the Dota 2 community has actually spent over $65.6 million on TI6 Battle Passes and levels.

Dota 2 Drow Guide by Romp

Drow is actually a deeper hero then most give her credit for. Ok, she`s no Invoker but that doesn`t mean she can`t be played skillfully. This guide borrows from – DMX Drow Ranger – and – How to Outdrow the Drows – which i find to be the best 2 drow guides imo. I`m just adding my own stuff and mixing theirs. I like to go indepth with my stuff so THIS ISNT AN ALT TAB GUIDE, its for people who really want to master the hero. Ok thats it for intro, also drow best butt, just saying.

You can solo any lane (yes even hard lane, just ward-block their pull and keep the lane pushed and you are fine) or go with a support on either sidelane.

IF Mid Lane: Have one rune spot warded for rune control. Wait until lvl 6 before ganking since you need the damage. By then you should have your early game items and should be ready to gank with a smoke and bottled rune. Check which lane is pushed and then coordinate over mic or chat and smoke into position, bypassing the enemy wards. Activate whichever rune you have while still in smoke (DD, haste, invis) and silence the hero(s) you are ganking and right click them down along with your allies. No reason the gank should fail if you did all this

Once you are successful, go for a shadow blade to really snowball

Item Strategies:

-Shadow Blade: The combo with SB is one shot to break the invis and proc the bonus 150 dmg then SILENCE then finish them off in proper positioning. Be wary however, after a few times the enemy will carry dust or detection.
Constantly check their inventories to see if its a safe gank, and check the minimap for their allies. Keep in mind Manta purges dust so they work well together. Be wary of Slardar and Bounty ults, manta purges both these abiltiies too!

-Manta Style – Practice dodging abilties with the small window of activation! Open a lobby and practice dodging sniper assasinate or Spirit Breaker charges until you can dodge consistently. It helps immensely in fights and time manta for use after they try to slow you or stun.

-BKB – Dont use it too early or else you are simply wasting it, use it when it looks like the enemy is going to really commit to a teamfight. Use it to dodge abilities, the more abilities you get to bait on you and(then bkb activate while said ability is in midflight) thats one less spell your team has to deal with. Also handy for escape with a tp scroll

-Helm of The Dominator – Arrow Toggling is essentially learning when you should be spamming frost arrows and when its not needed (because lifesteal doesn’t work when Frost Arrows are on). If for example, Bristleback is stunned, there’s no point in slowing so i save the mana and heal myself up a bit by attacking normally until he isn’t stunned. Not HUGE on its own, but just like last hitting creeps this cumulatively adds up and you can end up lasting a LONG time if you do this right.

Late game, where you get pretty tanky due to high armor, you can rush towers by dominating a creep and taking off backdoor protection, melting tower with your insane dmg. Stack the ancients 2-4 times at :53 with a high lvl jungle creep for a great gold gain. You want to be sure you can take the stack when its done so ward around the ancients and watch the minimap, You don’t want the enemy carry taking this. You can do it manually every min or you can shift queue the stack

Dealing with Counterpicks:

-Spirit Breaker – Ward his common charge paths, Learn to manta dodge his charge (practice it in a lobby) and then immediately silence him and right click him down. Bkb will prevent any damage from his spells but the stuns will go through. You can also dodge his ult with manta as well, BUT IT REQUIRES STRICT TIMING. Seriously sit down and practice dodging both his abilties, it will help you so MUCH. Yet another option is to dominate a troll and keep near you when farming or doing anything. Have it ensnare the Breaker mid charge and then silence and kill him, set up key bindings to do this accordingly. He’s hard to beat but not impossible.

-Clockwerk – Again ward around so you can see where he will try to hook from, if he can’t hook you hes useless imo. IF he does, pop manta and attack a cog until it breaks to escape while his ministun focuses on your ilusions (or you might get lucky and the manta might place you outside his cogs, you will take mana drain but will escape). Bkb is EXCELLENT, build it if hes giving you trouble, it negates almost all his dmg except for right click. So if he hooks you can bkb+teleport or bkb and attack the cogs to leave and then kill him. Blademail doesnt go through bkb either so hes screwed.

-Pudge – WARDS, it seriously shuts him down HARD. If mid against him, ward across the river so you can see where he will try to hook. He can’t outlane you since he is melee, harass him out with your orb. He should lose the lane, just creep hug and call missing when he eventually leaves. Exercise good rune control against him (again, ward a rune spot) and hes completely shut down imo. Be wary when going for a rune however, this is the only chance pudge has to try to comeback, but if you’ve warded appropriately you should be fine.

-Slark – Its all about landing the silence on him and dust. Be wary of Dark Pact, it can purge your silence and dust. It does have a notable animation however and if you catch him by surprise you can mow him down because he is squishy. So basically land your silence and if he didnt have dark pact prepped, hes as good as dead. Dust makes his ult a joke and if you do get pounced, you can bkb or just teleport out. It honestly goes either way depending on your silence.

These are the heros that I’ve learned to deal with and give me a bit of trouble, but if you do as above mentioned you should beat them. Spirit Breaker will be the BIGGEST pain, if you put in the practice and troll trap him with helm you can beat him.

K im done spewing out info for now tell me if i should add anything, i think this covers like 100 percent of drow honestly. No I didn’t forget ghost scepter, its just not as good as rushing manta imo, orbwalking out of ghost is fun but not you are playing to win. If you wanna have fun go blink and eblade drow for the hell of it lol.

As you might have heard by now, DK and defending champions Na’Vi are the first teams to be invited to The International.

This year we are moving to Benaroya Hall, located here in beautiful sunny Seattle. It will be held during the last weekend of August, from the 31st to September 2nd.

For those that want to catch up on last year’s event, the archive is located here.

We will be releasing information on how to acquire tickets in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for details.

From one: an army

Team Phantom Lancer is back and they don’t like the way you’re looking at them.

You can’t go in alone, here – take these:

  • The Prodota2 League and Gigabyte’s Dota Masters league started last week.
  • We don’t usually drink rum, but when we do, we enjoy the Brewmaster approved smooth flavors of Admiral Kunkka’s Tidebringer Rum.
  • The Starladder finals VODs are up.

You can find the latest changelog is here, no wait: here, nope: here!

Our force comes.

Don’t worry, your eyes are not playing tricks on you! That is indeed a brand new HUD you’re seeing. Today’s update includes the first of many upcoming revisions to our UI, starting with the in-game HUD.

When looking at feedback that we’ve gotten related to our interface, the first concerns we decided to address were:

  • Inefficient use of space across all resolutions
  • Having to jump through hoops to interact with the courier and glyph
  • A lack of aesthetic coherency with the rest of the game visuals

To more efficiently use space in wider resolutions, we’ve made adjustments to the layout of the stats section. This also allowed us to include Move Speed as one of the stats readily available to players.

The Courier UI now exposes the state of the little guy, and allows item delivery with just a single click. Glyph state is also clearly exposed and easier to reach when you most need it.

And finally we’ve also updated the look of our item icons.

As always, we would love to hear what you think of the changes, so feel free to leave feedback over in our UI forums.

Also released today is the Dota 2 replay parsing tool. This tool allows technically minded community members to extract data straight out of game replays. You can check out the technical documentation here. We can’t wait to see what kind of awesome data visualizations people come up with.

Meanwhile the community’s as busy as always, peep this:

  • The Star Series is happening right now! Check out Purge’s stream for all the action, or if you’re just interested in seeing where he sleeps.
  • And look at this thing!

These community highlights just stumbled onto this blog:

  • Gigabyte and Beyond The Summit announced the Dota 2 Masters tournament. With the top Asian teams competing it will be hard to find a game lacking any action.
  • The VOD for The Arena’s finals between Mousesports and CLG is now available.

  • Episode 1 of TheGDStudio’s Learn To Play Dota 2 series is out. Better tell your loved ones you’ll be busy for the next 3 hours.

We’ll see you again next week, you might want to get a designated driver by then.

Changelog is available here.

From exile, I emerge!

We celebrate Happy Bear Pun Week a day earlier as Lone Druid joins Dota 2’s cast of heroes.

  • It’s Gosu’s Monthly Madness tournament finals are tomorrow, March 29th. You don’t want to miss this, we hear it could be more than we can bear.
  • Bear witness to Team Dignitas’ Ultimate Guide to Warding. This should be required teaching in clawsrooms across the globe.
  • Great Explorer Nullf has compiled the eating habits of the legendary Tidehunter in one handy chart. This might give you paws before deciding to head to the beach.

Bear in mind that there will not be an update next week as we will be hibernating during that time.

Dota 2 Top 5 Pudge Players of all time

After recently covering too many professional Top ‘this’ and Top ‘that’ in Dota 2, we thought about writing for the most beloved hero of all. Dota 2 players around the world, even though the best or the worst have at least tried a hook or two with the butcher. Yes, Pudge is the most played hero in Dota 2 and we are here to tell you the top 5 Pudge players you should watch next time you want to learn how to play Pudge.

Black^
First stop is Black^. Currently playing for mousesports, Black^ is a guy that can play with almost any hero. And that is why Pudge is no stranger to him as well. No matter how important the match, if the team wants a roaming nuke then Pudge is nothing but heaven for Black. Being able to dominate early game, Black’s Pudge allows his team to just snowball like crazy. His Hook percentage is pretty insane as well allowing him to position himself for the best possible outcome. Black has an astonishing 62% winrate with Pudge. Even though we don’t see Pudge very often but this is a pocket strat that can be of use anytime. Here’s just a glimpse of what devastation Black^ can bring with his Pudge.

FoREv
Players don’t know much about FoRev but he definitely is one of the best Pudge players out there. With amazing skills and predictions, FoRev is just a nightmare when it comes to his Pudge. FoRev is a key player in Team MVP and we want him to stay that way, so that he can own. FoReV sits with the highest win rate for Pudge at an astounding 75%. We probably won’t see much of his Pudge in competitive games, but who cares? As long as we see Pudge owning the crap out of the enemy team we are happy with it. FoRev does absolutely what we want, ANNIHILATION.

w33haa
You guys mostly know him for his insane Meepo, but trust me; w33haa is absolutely not limited to that uglier version of Tyrion Lannister. The Europe’s best Dota 2 player, well in terms of leader boards is amazing when it comes to hooking enemies from where they didn’t even know. It’s been quite some time w33haa has played Pudge but, whenever he does there is nothing more fun to watch. w33haa has a 60% win rate with the old man and his Pudge is as scary as his Meepo. Here’s a look;

The Magical hexOr
Back in the days of DotA, this guy was probably the best Pudge player, showing off his skills with the name of hOlyhexOr. There is almost no one who has ever dreamt of playing a good Pudge and hasn’t watched hexOr’s insane plays with Pudge. Even though there are tons of wannabe Pudge players out there, no one is even close to the skills that hexOr has with this hero.

Dendi
Well, who doesn’t know Dendimon for his Pudge skills? Dendi was the reason people actually thought of picking Pudge in professional matches. Being able to create strategies around the hero, Dendi is the most fearsome Pudge player out there. The historical Pudge and Chen combo that was introduced for the first time in Dota 2 history created a mark of what wonders Dendi can make with the hero. Dendi currently has a 62% winrate with the hero, but who cares for numbers when it’s Dendi’s Pudge.

Can’t Hook cause you are lagging? Try Kill Ping and you won’t miss your hooks. EVER!

General DiscussionWhy do people pick pudge?

..other than to ruin games obviously..

Most of the players that pick pudge are from the cis or eastern europe, and all of them want to be like dendi

Because getting a hook is one of the most amazing feelings in the world?

Can’t blame em for wanting to feel good, but you can blame them for sucking.

Anytime I ask them why they pick him
” PUDGE SO OP XDXDXD ecks dee XD ”
Proceeds to lose everything ;-;

you can blame dendi for it..

Yes Dendi, the wow factor of getting hooks, and hero infatuation. Hes a cockney butcher that eats people. There is a ring to that people think is so cool. However, I do hate when people pick pudge, hes either godlike or feeding and hes a liability on a team. I feel the same with tinkers and invokers cause they need to either be babysat or have way too much breathing space. I have like 80 games with pudge and I haven’t touched him in a good 5 months because of how people see that hero.

cause he has a good voiceover

When you play games as Pudge or Mirana don’t you feel the HNNGGGG when you land crazy hooks/arrows?

I just hate it when you’re doing well until some ally notices you missed a hard target to grab and starts bashing you.
Pudge with a good support team though. whole map stays warded/counter-warded and hooks come from everywhere.

Because 0/3 ;mid pudge in 10 mins is 18/3 in my games when he’s muh enemi

pudge in my team: cyka mid plz wards suka where is team.

pudge in enemy team: [IMG]http://i2.wp. com/listverse. com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/riflemen. jpg[/IMG]

People pick Pudge because he’s such a lazy fat bastard, all he really needs is kills and he can easily get them. I think that Pudge is easy and hard at the same time, If you practice it hooking is easy at for the most part but playing against competent players that know how to avoid getting killed by a Pudge is the definitely the hardest part of playing this hero and that’s mostly why you see a lot of people not doing well with Pudge. They can’t hook or the enemy team just knows how to deal with a Pudge unless the player they’re up against is better than them.

You need bals to play pudge, so Russians think they will get bigger bals if they play pudge. Unfortunately we know how that ends up

same reason they pick bs, they live in a dream world and think they are gonna rape, while in reality they gonna fail miserably

I dont mind a Mirana on um team mainly because she adds to it, Pudges are just burdens

people play heroes that are fun :O shocking

^ I don’t think they are getting much fun with 0/11/3 scores.

i play pudge whenever i have a tb on the team –>takes away the focus ^^
100% success except that time people fed on purpose since the start so i dont count that as a game 😀

you would be surprised I know some people who lose so much feed and still like playing

Well.. I personally love pudge but I know most people suck with pudge.

most of them know their hook accuracy is below 20% even aganist afk targets but level of ignorance is just 2 strong

its actually funny when people say that most people suck with pudge while they believe that they play a good one
there’s like 5 people on each continent who can play pudge at an acceptable level
most people dont even buy smokes and if you dont buy smokes on that hero youre actually just awful

i pick pudge when i WANT to lose
the hero is horrible
other than pubs vs retards it never works

Because Pudge’s middle name is “mid or feed”

because the concept of playing pudge seems cool, but then you fuck up every hook and feed relentlessly

its a fun hero, hence people pick it.

Yeah well nonetheless I still believe my pudge is acceptable. I know it’s a difficult hero for many. I think you’re being a little over dramatic but that’s just my opinion.

cuz they have lots of fun with him

I find that most players go through a “pubstomper of choice” phase. Some people play 70 games of drow, some people play spirit breaker all the time, some people are addicted to riki, and some are addicted to pudge. most newbies tend to try out new heroes after getting stomped or watching a stomp get done by a specific hero. If enemy pudge goes 33-0, you will be inclined to try this hero, thus all the pudge, riki, drow, sniper, sb picks in low tier games.

When I was brand new to dota 2 and i got fed up of losing with the friends who introduced me to the game, i decided to solo queue and i got obliterated by riki. What do I do? I play riki nonstop for a whole month. Eventually I got my ass handed to me by a TA, so then I went on to play TA, and I did so well with her until I met Pudge. *insert 50+ games of pudge here*

Dota 2 Item Drop Exploiters Intentionally Ruining Games On SA Server

As we know exams are on the verge of beginning for university students such as myself, and few things are better than taking a study break with the amazing game that is Dota 2. However that was until yesterday where I experienced quite possibly one of the worst games I have ever had to sit through in a decade of Dota, and that’s saying an awful lot, because we all know how the community can be sometimes. So I am writing this not only to share my experience, but also to issue a warning to you if you plan to play Dota in the early mornings or afternoons, and happen to encounter foreign players as a result. Grab your popcorn, folks, because this is as messed up as you can get.

Valve recently made a few much-needed changes to the item drop system in Dota 2. Previously cosmetic item drops had a small chance to happen after a game for a number of players, but they were mostly commons or occasionally uncommons worth a couple of cents and these of course had no value. The new system is now ‘time-based’ instead of level-based, which can be interpreted as longer games having a higher chance for a reward, and the dropВ list now “includes full sets, treasures, bundles and Arcanas at a rare rate instead of frequently dropping common items.” This was enough to make me happy when I first heard about it, because I’d rather not drop those worthless commons which can be bought for 3c on the community market and instead have a chance at getting something great. But now it seems people want to exploit the system because of a fundamental misunderstanding to do with ‘time-based’, where players believe that a very long game will guarantee Arcana item drops, where instead it just increases the likelihood but it’s still a rare occurrence.

Yesterday I played against a group of foreign players who, at the beginning of the game, were talking about item abuse. В Us SA players could barely understand them, so we didn’t think much of it. Eventually we saw that they had no intent on playing the game, and all they wanted to do was hit creeps and delay the game to 2-3 hours for “Arcana drops” and “item abuse”. When we refused to play ball, obviously, the five of them simply abandoned the game within the first ten minutes. Now I was alright with this because even though it sucked it was a free win and at least they didn’t waste too much of our time. I wasn’t too bothered by it because it seemed like a group of fools playing their roles to perfection. However there’s always something worse waiting around the corner, and the next game proved to be fatal. Please get out some tissues and cry with me on this one.

I encountered similar players in the next game, and it started out the same with the foreigners asking us if we wanted to abuse the item drop system. Obviously we said no. They did the same thing in not playing, being content to hit creeps and so forth. We decided the best course of action was to try and end the game as quickly as possible, and racked up a massive lead as a result. However, the foreigners on their team got the two foreigners on our team to work with them to delay the game. What followed was absolutely one of the worst experiences you could ever imagine yourself being put in, as it ended up being a 3v7, without any exaggeration. The two foreigners on our team went to feed more thanВ 30 kills to the opposition to counter our heavy lead and prevent us from finishing quickly, and once our opponents were strong enough they then bought items such as Euls Scepter and Force Staff to stop us killing the enemy. They beefed themselves up just enough to combat creep waves, and tried to kill all neutral camps toВ preventВ us from farming. They even went as far as to try and steal Aegis when we killed Roshan, and at one point in the game denied it. The opposition simply defended.

If your jaw hasn’t dropped in horror yet, then know that this process went on for an insane two hours. And here all I wanted was a game of Dota in my study break. Fuck me, right? When the morons finally decided to end the game, not a single player got an item drop. Why? Because the system doesn’t guarantee it for a long game. It just improves the chance. These cretins were dumbstruck, yetВ no doubt went to go repeat the process elsewhere. The sheer frustration made me report them via Dota 2 and Steam, and then proceed to post the issue and match details on the official forumsВ in an effort to bring about discussion and possibly action. It was then that I discovered other SA players experiencing the same issue and posting about it on reddit, and it’s clear that it’s a very serious problem.

The reason the foreign players use the South African server is most likely because it’s a low population server, which gives them a higher chance to be paired with each other, as in others they know who’d be willing to waste their time trying to abuse the system. I suspect that other low population servers will be affected as a result. This is a game ruining issue that is absolutely appalling, and often there won’t be a thing you can do about it because you may just not have the heroes to beat it in the late game, especially when a few of your teammates are making an active effort to screw you over as well.

It stands to reason that something has to be done about this. Whether it’s clarification on the ‘time-based’ aspect of the system, threats of severe bans for any who try this or a change to the system, I am not sure. But it can’t be left alone, because this is some of the worst behaviour I have ever seen online in my many years of playing Dota. Dota 2 item drops 2014 impala Some mayВ argue that it willВ stop once the idiots realise it doesn’t work, and perhaps that’s true, but I shudder to think how many games will be ruined and how many players will suffer what I did in the time it takes for that to happen. These players shouldn’t go unpunished. I made my best effort to post the details to the forums which included links to all the offenders’ Steam profiles, so hopefully something can be done about that. As for now, I hope this serves as a warning to you if you encounter any foreign players wanting to attempt this.
