Dota 2 data yields >

What’s the ideal Dota team composition? You might be thinking that the answer is something like a carry, a semi-carry/initiator, a pusher, a support and a disabler, or something along those lines. That would make sense right?

Well, Reddit user KjellJagland wanted to find out for sure, so he turned to good, hard, statistics. He sucked in a bunch of Dota data from stats site Dotabuff , ran it through an open source C# app , and ranked different team compositions according to their win ratios.

The huge number of heroes available in Dota 2 also means an even huger number of potential team compositions — almost 50 million, to be precise. But plenty of those are only rarely seen, so to smooth out the data, KjellJagland accepted only the team compositions that had more than 50 results to analyse — a total of 39,626 different combinations.

The results are pretty surprising. Agility heroes fared terribly, with the most successful team composition (successful 54.2% of the time) being four strength heroes and one intelligence hero. That makes a certain amount of sense — tying a hero’s damage output and health pool to a single stat means that you end up with a long-lasting, high-damage team that simply dies less often.

Interestingly, ranged heroes perform consistently better than melee ones. A team with five ranged heroes wins 55.3% of the time, whereas one with five melee heroes has a win-rate of just 42.6%.

But that was just a small deviation from the average. The really weird results came when different hero roles were analysed. These roles were taken directly from Valve’s descriptions, so they could take into account a hero labelled as “carry” being played as a support, but that should average out over time.

The most successful number of carries on a team wasn’t one. It wasn’t two, or even five. It was zero. A team with no carries on it at all tended to win 14.1% more than average.

The statistics for disablers were pretty interesting too. A team with none sucks, losing 6.1% more than the average, but increasing the number brings only small benefits – four disablers on a team is the most successful combination, but it only wins 2.3% more than average. It seems like as long as you’ve got a few disablers, you’ll be fine, but adding loads doesn’t help much more.

It makes sense that the more durable heroes you have, the better. Having all five of your heroes marked as “durable” will win you 61.4% of your games, with all other factors being equal. That’s for the same reasons that strength heroes dominate the stats — more health means fewer deaths, and less XP for the enemy team as a result.

The same logic would suggest that a team with lots of escape heroes should do well, but weirdly they don’t. A team with none whatsoever should win 7.7% more games than average. It’s hard to say why this might be — KjellJagland suggests in the comments on his Reddit thread that it’s because escape heroes tend to run away from fights leaving their friends to die.

I’d add that it might be because using escape mechanisms often requires a degree of skill — and most of the data here is likely to come from newer players, who don’t fully know how to use their abilities. Escape heroes tend to be naturally more squishy, so if they’re not using their abilities to their fullest, that’ll bring the average down.

Junglers, and nukers don’t tend to have much impact on the game, but pushers do — a team with four pushers will win 11.9% more than average. “running full pusher setups might actually be viable,” says KjellJagland. Initiators are powerful too — a five-initiator lineup should tend to win 61.9% of its matches.

So what does that make the ideal team composition? Well, the very highest win-rates come from a no-carry, four-disabler or one-carry, one-disabler setup, but these have very small popularity ratings (0.2% and 0.3% respectively), so it’s possible that success rates are being skewed by outliers – weird games that don’t represent “normal” play.

A one-carry, two-disabler team (which represents a larger chunk of test data, 3%) with the other heroes filling out the other roles — pushing, initiating and support in different combinations is probably best. This team should win 61.2% of its games, again assuming that all other factors are equal.

The very worst? Five carries and three initiators, which will win just 31.9% of its games. That’s not an 8-hero team, by the way, almost all heroes are flagged with more than one role.

The lesson you should take away from all of this is that if you’re on a public server with three carries already selected on your team, the best thing you can do is play a disabler or a pusher.

Skip Riki this time, take one for the team, and you’ll be far more likely to bring home a victory.

DreamHack

DreamHack Events Upcoming Click on the “Show” link on the right to see the full list General

DreamHack is a LAN party, a local area network gathering with demo competitions, gaming competitions and more. It’s arranged twice annually at the Elmia exhibition centre in Jönköping, Sweden and also twice a year at Expolaris Congresscenter, Skellefteå, Sweden and holds the world record (as recognized by the Guinness Book of Records and Twin Galaxies) for the world’s largest LAN party and computer festival. [1] [2]

Dreamhack hosts a large E-sport tournament at each of their LANs, which include: Starcraft 2, Counter Strike 1.6, Heroes of Newerth among others. As well as organizing the LAN event, Dreamhack is also responsible for arranging various Starcraft 2 invitational tournaments. The first one was held in Stockholm 12 April 2011, which generated a great amount of interest from the Swedish media, especially the largest newspaper in Sweden, Aftonbladet, which streamed the event live.

In the year 2007 the founders of DreamHack received a diploma of honor from the municipality of Jönköping for being so important to business, education and society of the local community.

About [ edit ]

DreamHack began as a small gathering of schoolmates and friends in the basement of an elementary school in Malung in the early ’90s. In 1994 it was moved to the school cafeteria and became one of the larger regional demoparties at the time. The 1994 gathering was also the first one to go by the name DreamHack. In 1997 the event took place at Arena Kupolen in Borlänge and became the largest LAN party of Sweden and the third largest party in Scandinavia at the time. Furthermore, DreamHack 2001 and the upcoming events were held at the Elmia exhibition centre in Jönköping, where it has been since.

Starting the year 2002, DreamHack became a semiannual event with DreamHack Summer, aiming for games, taking place in June and DreamHack Winter, slightly more specific for the demo scene, being held during the last weekend of November. This difference has since blurred and perhaps been completely erased. In 2007, the now fully featured corporation DreamHack AB also began arranging a third event during the late summer, in Skellefteå up the northern coast of Sweden. The Skellefteå event, though a lot smaller with a thousand seats, was sold out by a greater margin than DHW. This event has since been discontinued.

In 2011, DreamHack AB went through a corporate reform, renewing the company administration. It was announced on November 15, 2012 that DreamHack would be partnering with Major League Gaming (MLG) and Electronic Sports League (ESL) to help facilitate the growth and development of the North American and European eSports scene. This partnerships includes universal rankings, unified competition structures and more. [3]

In November 2015 Modern Times Group bought 100% of DreamHack for an enterprise value of SEK 244 million. [4] At the Winter 2015 event, commentator Richard Lewis and Alliance Dota 2 player Jonathan “Loda” Berg had a physical altercation, [5] [6] [7] which resulted in Lewis’s permanent ban from future DreamHack events. Dendi’s Pudge – Items, skill build, and talents

Let’s check out Dendi’s item and skill builds on Pudge in the matches played during the past six months. I also inspected the new talents introduced by 7.07 and the best choices.

Danil “Dendi” Ishutin is undoubtedly the most famous Pudge player in the world. If you want to learn the hero, he is your best teacher and source of inspiration.

For this article, I analyzed the data from the matches played on his main Dota 2 account. Smurfs have not been considered, but note that he could have played more Pudge games on them – subscribe to his YouTube channel for more replays.

We will study his item and skill builds used in pub games during the previous six months, and figure out his preferences.

I am ignoring pro games as the last one listed on OpenDota is dated to April 21, 2016: the game changed a lot along the years, so the data from those matches is irrelevant for our purpose.

Item build

Starting Items

In most games, Dendi entered the battlefield with Boots of Speed, Tango, Clarity, and a Smoke of Deceit.

This is an aggressive and roaming intensive choice: he can use the Smoke for an early gank, while the boots help to move faster around the map.

He picked these items both as a roamer and a mid hero. Instead, he went for the Stout Shield in place of the boots when playing in the safe lane.

Consumables

A roamer should also aid the team with supportive items. In my games, I regularly encounter Pudges that refuse to buy even a single ward. Instead, Dendi often contributed to the team’s efforts and helped the position 5 with both Sentry and Observer Wards.

Dendi’s item progression as a roamer Pudge – Match ID: 3340117042. In this game, he severely slowed down his own item build as the team required extra vision on the map. Image: Dotabuff

Core Items

He never got a Bottle, but instead purchased the Magic Wand in almost all matches.

The Tranquil Boots are his only choice as boots. Pudge can make a great use of the extra mobility and health regeneration. Only in two games, played in the safe lane, Dendi took the Power Treads.

The Urn of Shadows is another popular item choice as Pudge will easily charge it while performing his job as a ganker. There is no reason to skip it, unless someone else in the team already has one.

Blink Dagger or Force Staff

Dendi bought the Blink Dagger in all games. In a few matches, he enhanced his mobility even more with the Force Staff.

Only in one situation, where he was facing a team with multiple AoE skills, he preferred the latter. Otherwise, the opponents would have disabled the Dagger constantly.

Typical core item build and some extra – Match ID: 3293332936 – Image:Dotabuff

Extra

Ghost Scepter when dealing with many right-clickers as Pudge can continue using his abilities while avoiding their attacks.

Rod of Atos in a single game where he was against very mobile heroes: Bloodseeker, Dark Seer, and Spirit Breaker. Usually, this is a recommended item for all players that require an extra help to land their hooks. Of course, Dendi’s skills are already flawless, but with the RoA he could easily stop a SB’s charge, or prevent BS from going berserk on his team.

Eul’s Scepter of Divinity in a game as well. He clashed versus three heroes with AoE abilities and ultimates – I believe he got it to boost his survivability. Generally, the Eul is a source of mana regeneration and movement speed, and it helps with your hooks as the enemy will stand in place under its effect.

Black King Bar in two matches versus heavy magic damage heroes with lots of disables at their disposal. Pudge is naturally resilient to casters, but sometimes even his passive isn’t enough.

Glimmer Cape as a situational pick. It isn’t just a self-defense item that gives magic resistance, but the invisibility can be a real lifesaver for yourself or your teammates. As a roamer, you should always prioritize the life of the cores over yours.

Terrorblade, the Demon Marauder – Terrorblade is the demon marauder–an outlaw hellion whom even other demons fear. A cosmic iconoclast, he stole from the Demon Lords, ignored the codified rites that should have bound his behavior, and broke every law of the seven Infernal Regions. For his crimes, he was taught this lesson: even Hell has a hell. A short, brutal trial ensued, with many dead on all sides, and he was finally incarcerated in Foulfell, a hidden dimension where demonkind imprison their own.
But Foulfell is no normal prison. In this dark mirror of reality, demons are sentenced to gaze eternally into the twisted reflection of their own souls. But instead of suffering, Terrorblade made himself master of his own reflected worst self–a raging, thieving demon of unimaginable power. With his inner beast under sway, he destroyed the fractal prison walls and burst free to turn his terror loose upon all creation.

Mortred, the Phantom Assassin – Through a process of divination, children are selected for upbringing by the Sisters of the Veil, an order that considers assassination a sacred part of the natural order. The Veiled Sisters identify targets through meditation and oracular utterances. They accept no contracts, and never seem to pursue targets for political or mercenary reasons. Their killings bear no relation to any recognizable agenda, and can seem to be completely random: A figure of great power is no more likely to be eliminated than a peasant or a well digger. Whatever pattern the killings may contain, it is known only to them. They treat their victims as sacrifices, and death at their hand is considered an honor. Raised with no identity except that of their order, any Phantom Assassin can take the place of any other; their number is not known. Perhaps there are many, perhaps there are few. Nothing is known of what lies under the Phantom Veil. Except that this one, from time to time, when none are near enough to hear, is known to stir her veils with the forbidden whisper of her own name: Mortred.

Dota 2 vs LoL vs CS:GO Majors – Biggest Esports in 2018

New figures put Dota 2 vs LoL vs CS:GO Majors head to head to head. The League of Legends World Championships, also known as Worlds, is one of the biggest spectacles in esports. However, with the biggest prize pool in esports, The International is just as prestigious. Meanwhile, CS:GO Majors also have a huge, dedicated fanbase. So which is the biggest?

New statistics from ESCharts. com compare the three major esports tournaments in 2018 viewership, with some interesting findings. All three shine in certain areas, but which is the best and biggest esport overall?

Dota 2 vs LoL vs CS:GO Majors 2018 – Which is the Biggest?

According to the figures, LoL Worlds 2018 was bigger than the CS:GO FACEIT London Major and TI 2018 by far.

The League of Legends World Championships 2018 hit a peak viewership of 1,958,619. This excludes Chinese views, which are largely considered to be inflated. The Chinese peak viewership was 203,389,444 while the English peak was 936,601.

Not only did it attract a huge viewership on Twitch and YouTube, but LoL Worlds 2018 also sold out cinemas for the Grand Finals. Chinese team Invictus Gaming took home the trophy.

“We have waited seven years for this moment. To be able to enjoy this moment of glory, everything was worth it.”

The International 2018, Dota 2’s annual major, amassed 1,195,309 peak viewers (excluding Chinese). It also got a peak Chinese viewership of 13,805,985 and an English peak of 659,915.

The win went to OG Esports in a Grand Finals match against PSG. LGD.

Against all odds, we stood united, fought until the very end and became your #TI8 Champions!

Meanwhile, the CS:GO London Major 2018 racked up peak views of 1,084,126. The English peak was 767,513, beating Dota 2’s, while the amount of Chinese viewers is unknown.

The win went to long-running world #1 team Astralis in what many considered a straight-forward tournament with no major upsets.

Dota 2 vs LoL vs CS:GO Majors – Biggest Prize Pool

While LoL Worlds 2018 may have far outweighed CS:GO and Dota 2 in viewership, the prize pool is another matter.

LoL Worlds 2018 had an overall prize pool of $2,250,000. Invictus took home a Grand Prize of $843,750 between them. Astralis’ win in the FACEIT London CS:GO Major netted them $500,000 from an overall prize pool of $1,000,000.

Of course, The International comes out on top in terms of prize money. Dota 2 has long been the highest paying esports game , and TI 2018 had a prize pool of $25,532,177.

OG Esports won a whopping $11,234,158. The International’s prize pool is the biggest in esports, largely thanks to it being funded by in-game purchases of the Compendium each year.

Dota 2 pusher guide

Dota 2 pusher guide

Dota 2 pusher guide

Dota 2 pusher guide

One of the most important thing in DotA is Pushing Towers. Without this winning is not possible. There are DotA Push Strategy which includes healer and summoner DotA heroes. We also need a AOE spells to get rid of enemy creeps distracting our allied creeps. A lot of heroes have the ability to push towers quickly but which are the fastest. This will show you the top 10 fastest pusher heroes in DotA. Before I give you the ranking, there are limitations in this ranking. The heroes will all be level 16 having all skills maxed, heroes wont have any items, there are no enemy creep distracting allied creeps, cooldown of skills are considered and there are no defending enemy hero.

Now, I’ll give you the fastest pusher heroes in DotA.

Top 10
Goblin Techies – Squee and Spleen (39 seconds)

The spell with the highest instant damage in DotA is the land mine by Techies. It has 600 damage at level 4 on creeps and heroes; 300 damage on towers. First towers have 1300hp. Techies can destroy a tower with four land mines and 2 or 3 hits by him or allied creeps. Without spell cool down he would be considered the fastest pusher, who can destroy a tower in 8 seconds. Now, considering the cool down of the land mine which is 12 seconds, Techies can push a tower in 39 seconds considering that he and the allied creeps are hitting the tower every cool down time of land mines.

Top 9
Prophet – Furion (32 seconds)

Furion, using his skill – force of nature, is considered to be the top 9 fastest tower destroyer in DotA. He has a high base damage but his summons only have 21-23 damage. He can summon 5 trents that will give around 100 damage per attack on towers. In real games, he would be a great pusher having his other skills teleportation and wrath of nature.

Top 8
Black Arachnia – Broodmother (25 secs)

Broodmother can summon 4 Spiderlings by using his first skill – Spawn Spiderlings. Pushing with only 4 spiderlings doesn’t make broodmother a fast pusher hero. The best way is to summon another set of spiderlings making it 8. Pushing with 8 spiderlings can destroy a tower in 15 seconds. But considering the cooldown(10 seconds) of the skill to be able to summon 2 sets of spiderlings, makes it 25 seconds.

Top 7
Oblivion – Pugna (22 seconds)

This is one of the feared pusher in the game – Pugna. Dota 2 pusher guide Aside from his excellent pushing ability, he also has great abilities for team fights and survival, that is why he is often banned. Considering the cool down of Nether Blast which is 5.5. He can destroy a tower with 4 blasts and hitting the tower while waiting for another blast. The 4th blast would be the finishing blast making him destroy the tower in 22 seconds.

Top 6
Enigma – Darchrow (18 seconds)

Enigma, using his Demonic Conversion skill, can summon 3 Eilodons. These 3 Eilodons with Enigma and Creeps can destroy a tower in 20 seconds, but using an alternative and make these Eilodons hit enemy creeps first making it 6 Eilodons have better result. Using them to make 6 hits on creeps takes 8 seconds. Now, having 6 Eilodons, Enigma and creeps can destroy a tower in 10 seconds. Considering the time to have 6 Eilodons gives Enigma a total of 18 seconds to destroy a tower.

Top 5
Pandaren Brewmaster – Mangix (17 secs)

Mangix, level 16 without aganims, is a great pusher. 3 Mighty pandas with creeps destroys a tower in 17 seconds.

Top 4
Lycanthrope – Banehallow (14 seconds)

Almost all of the skills of Banehallow contribute to pushing. He has dogs that have piercing damage on towers, howl that adds damage, feral impulse adds damage and attack speed, and phase shift gives him attack speed increase. Using all of this skills in pushing a tower destroys the tower in around 14 seconds.

Top 3
Tormented Soul – Leshrac (12 seconds)

Leshrac’s Diabolic Edict is a skill that makes 32 explosions with 50 damage each explosion having a total of 1600. Leshrac’s Diabolic, with creeps make the tower burning in 8 seconds. At this point, the Diabolic will be turned off. It’ll take extra 4 seconds to destroy the tower completely having a total of 12 seconds.

Top 2
Shadow Shaman – Rhasta (10 seconds)

The Ultimate Skill of Rhasta is the top 2 tower destroyer. Even without Aganims, these deadly wards, along with rhasta and creeps hitting the tower, destroys a tower in 10 seconds.

Top 1
Death Prophet – Krobelus (9 seconds)

If you are unaware of the minimum system requirements that are necessary to run Dota 2, we have compiled a list for you to compare it with your existing system.

Dota 2 System Requirements

Minimum Requirements
Operating System Windows 7 64-Bit
Processor Dual-core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz.
Graphics nVidia GeForce 8600
RAM 2GB
Hard Disk 15GB

  • You should prioritize your graphics card to Dota 2. This will help to make sure your memory is entirely dedicated to the performance of your game.
  • Close background applications prior to entering matchmaking.
  • Make sure that the internet connection you have is not being leeched by unwanted software/ applications and torrents.

If you can do all the necessary steps that have been shown above, there is a high possibility that you will get your lag fixed. However, some lag issues are unavoidable in this regards. And you will have to take a different approach if you want to save yourself from those troubles as well.

Dota 2 Server Issues

While by this time, you will be able to fix lag from your end, the picture has another face, and it is called the server side. There are many cases in which you will suffer from lag due to server problems. It substantially happens in Dota 2 due to heavy load onto the servers as well as the constant traffic that is routed from your ISP to the internet.

In this regards, the best fix that you can get is the use of an application that frees you from all troubles. The name is Kill Ping, and it is something that allows you even to bypass lag that is not under your control and provide you a gaming experience that is the best you can get.

With Kill Ping, you are privileged of getting a dedicated route to the game server of your choice. Whether it be SE Asia, EU or NA, you name it. Kalldetha, the Shadow Blade

Please review our General Rules & Guidelines before posting or commenting anywhere on DOTAFire.

Kalldetha, the Shadow

Mages are often treated with respect, for they spend many years learning their few spells. Often, they sacrifice their lives in the pursuit of knowledge; and to wield the power to bypass natural law is no small feat.
Yet it is not always so. In the city of Hasdin, magic is feared, and mages forced into the lawless underground that seeps into the city’s every pore. Kalldetha is one such mage; though he knows but one spell, it aids him more than the masters of two or three. For Kalldetha does not study magic to the exclusion of all else. He combines it with his trade to surpass all who might otherwise rival him.

And what greater purpose might one have than to be the harbinger of death?

Stats

Health: 500 at 1, 1400 at 25

Primary Attribute: Intelligence

Agility: 27 + 2.6
Intelligence: 24 + 2.4
Armor: 3
Attack Range: 150 (Melee)
Speed: 330
BAT: 1.55

Abilities

Q-All around you

Kalldetha blinks behind the target, makes a single instant attack against them, and then blinks the secondary distance in a vector-targeted direction. Kalldetha is uncontrollable and has 100% status resistance during the attack.
Cast range: 400/500/600/700
Cast point: 0.55
Secondary distance: 450
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 11/10/9/8

None can escape a blade that slips through the shadows.

W-Potion of the Night

Throws a potion at 550 speed at target location. When it reaches that location or hits a unit, all enemies in a 350 radius have their vision reduced to 200 for 2/2.5/3/3.5 seconds. They also cannot see through the eyes of their allies for the duration. If the potion hits a unit, that unit also takes 150/200/250/300 magical damage.
Cast range: 1000
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 23

Kalldetha does not hesitate to use the devices of lesser men for his own aims.

E-Pluck

Marks the target for 3 seconds and changes this ability to Plop. After 3 seconds or when Plop is used, it reverts. Levels with Plop.
Cast Range: 150
Cooldown: 20

Kalldetha has made so many portals that it takes him but an instant to prepare another.

E-Plop

Teleports the marked unit into the air at target location, where they fall for 1 second and then take damage. The target area must be no more than 600 units from the marked unit.
Cast range: 300/400/500/600
Damage: 100/130/160/190
Mana: 100/125/150/175

Perpetual motion devices may not be supported.

R-Measured Cut

When an enemy, if alone, could not see Kalldetha, it gains a buff that lingers for 2 seconds. When he attacks an enemy with this buff, it and all enemies that can see it lose the buff; the unit being attacked takes significantly increased damage without the full protection of its armor.
Damage: 125/250/375
“Physical damage resistance” reduction: 25%

An opponent cannot defend from a threat it cannot see.

D-Fade into Shadow

Kalldetha and all visual effects he might produce are immune to detection from target unit for 2 seconds. There is no indication of Kalldetha’s whereabouts (unlike Shadow Dance ). For the duration, the target is untargetable for Kalldetha. Dota 2 shadow blade heroes Can be purged.
Available only with Aghanim’s Scepter .
Cooldown: 30

There is a reason the name Kalldetha is spoken often in whispers.

Is it really finished? You excluded the hero’s stats. For me, stats defines the hero just as much as their abilities. The least you can provide are base attributes and stat gained per level. Now that I thought about it, what’s his primary attribute? The ‘mage’ in the lore made me subconsciously assume ‘intelligence’, but there’s nothing explicitly mentioned. And his abilities seems to cross that of an agility hero.

I would also prefer if there’s also an attack type (ranged/melee) and base movespeed listed as well. Armor and base attack damage are less preferred but just as welcome.

I’m going to assume the hero is an intelligence melee hero.

Q seems to be a definitive hit and run spell. But another information missing is how long will Kalldetha keep attacking the target before blinking away. Again, without knowing his base stats, how can I tell how much right click damage can he deal per cast? And how well can he survive if that target fights back?

Potion of the night seems like the vanilla spell every hero should have. Seems underwhelming given it’s cooldown. Like, maybe give it a 10s CD? I feel 200 AoE is too small, Slardar’s crush is 350, but you might as well intended it.

Pluck and Plop reminds me of my Hexius’ Eucl > Blink Dagger and Shadow Blade is purchased, it becomes too much of a displacing ability with extremely high reliability. Invi in, Pluck, Blink out, then Plop it on your team! A full 1800+ enemy displacement! My Hexius solved this overpowered-ness by requiring an Aghanim’s Scepter to target heroes and by only giving a maximum displacement of 800 units (enemy. 1600 for allies) from the cast location.

You said in the ultimate, “When enemies cannot see Kalldetha, they gain a buff”. However, doesn’t when one enemy can’t see him, every enemy can’t see him? Can we just rephrase it this way? :

“Once Kalldetha slips out of enemy vision, he gets a buff granting him bonus damage and ability to pierce 50% of armor to his next attack. Buff has a 3/4/5 seconds linger grace period.

Is this a passive? This is hax if it’s a passive!
